The article presents the research to obtain low-temperature calcination binder from dolomitic limestone with a MgO content of less than 20%. The initial dolomite material was calcinated at the following temperature range from 700 to 800 ℃ and firing time 25–45 min. The result of the selection of the optimal firing conditions is semi-calcination product caustic dolomite with a minimum content of residual Mg(CO3)2 and free CaO with bending strength 10–11 MPa. Physical-mechanical characteristics and mineral composition of samples were determined by the use of differential thermal analysis and infrared spectroscopy studies. Preliminary experimental samples of facing composite board materials were prepared and the main physico-chemical parameters were determined: bending strength 4–7.6 MPa, density 800–1400 kg/m3 and water absorption 10–25%. A three-dimensional model for the production of glass dolomite slabs has been developed.

It has been suggested that the preference for low WHRs evolved because low WHR provided a cue to female reproductive status and health, and therefore to her reproductive value. The present study aimed to test whether WHR might indeed be a reliable cue to female reproductive history (with lower WHRs indicating lower number of children). Previous studies showed such a relationship for modern and industrialized populations, but it has not been investigated in natural fertility, indigenous, more energy constrained populations facing greater trade-offs in energy allocation than do modern societies. Our sample comprised 925 women aged 13 to 95 years from seven non-industrial societies including tribes from Sub-Saharan Africa (Hadza, Datoga, and Isanzu), Western Siberia (Ob Ugric people: Khanty and Mansi), South America (Tsimane) and South Asia (Minahasans and Sangirese). We demonstrated a culturally stable, significant relationship between number of children and WHR among women, controlling for BMI and age. Based on these data, we suggest that WHR is a reliable cue to female reproductive history, and we discuss our results in the context of previous studies indicating usefulness of WHR as an indicator of health and fertility.

The submitted article deals with the theoretic and practically-oriented aspects of planning and implementing the modular competence-based curriculum in higher professional institutions. Particularly, the authors submit the structure of the modular competence-based curricula, develop the principles of their projecting, describe the technology of introducing the modular competence-based curriculum in higher professional institutions. The developed structure and technology can be applied in the professional institutions, further training and retraining centers in the process of core curriculum drafting, additional vocational programs and working programs as well.

Abstract The aim of this study was to examine the relation of the Big Five personality factors to two self‐concept variables of growing importance in creativity literature: creative self‐efficacy (CSE) and creative personal identity (CPI). The analysis, conducted on a large (N = 2674, 49.6% women) and varied‐in‐age (15–59 years old) nationwide sample of Poles, using the structural equation model, demonstrated that personality factors are responsible for 23% of CSE and 21% of CPI variances. CSE and CPI were associated with all five personality dimensions: positively with Openness to Experience, Extraversion and Conscientiousness, negatively with Neuroticism and Agreeableness. The separate analyses conducted on men and women showed the differences among the predictors of CSE and CPI. Although Openness to Experience, Conscientiousness, and Neuroticism predicted CSE among both men and women, Extraversion was positively and Agreeableness negatively related to women's CSE. Conscientiousness was positively related to CPI only among men, and Agreeableness was negatively related to it only among women. Extraversion, Neuroticism, and Openness predicted CPI in the same manner among men and women.

Conflict Resolution and Relational Patterns in the Families of Origin of Women and Men The aim of the studies was to seek an answer to the following question: Which relationship patterns correlate with different conflict resolution strategies in women's and men's intimate relationships? The subjects were 56 engaged couples (aged 19-37) answering Conflict Resolution Strategy Questionnaires, Personal Authority in the Family System Questionnaires and The Family of Origin Scale. The network of correlations between conflict resolution strategies and relationship patterns is more complex for women than for men. In the women's group, the correlation connects constructive strategies (dialogue and loyalty) foremost with patterns defining intimacy (or its components). However, destructive strategies (exit and neglect) are related to patterns definitive of individuation levels in the family of origin, independence and position. In the men's group, however, the correlation connects conflict resolution strategies (constructive and destructive) to relationship patterns definitive of partner relations. Furthermore, constructive strategies are associated with lower intergeneration triangulation intensity and higher intergenerational intimidation intensity.
