Get to Know Your AFS Staff: Jenna Hanks Daughtry (she/her)
I am originally from Reidsville, North Carolina and moved to Greensboro, North Carolina after graduating from North Carolina State University. As the Development Manager for AFS, I manage individual giving, commercial partnerships, grants, sponsorships, and other sources of funding. The management of the areas listed above encompasses the recruitment of funds, either by individual requests or standardized submission through government funded channels, stewardship of gifts received through individual acknowledgement or formalized reporting, and identification of new opportunities. Before coming to AFS, I worked in the Institutional Advancement office for High Point University managing stewardship processes for their donors. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Zach, and our 2-year-old son, Finley. I also enjoy baking and trying new recipes. Cajun and Creole are by far my favorite style of food—gumbo and shrimp Creole are my favorites! I love comedy! However, my son is obsessed with Disney movies, so they are a very close second! Neither. Diet Dr. Pepper is the best! My dream vacation would be a trip through Egypt to see the ancient ruins. Dolly Parton! Not only is Dolly a musical legend, but she embodies the spirit of philanthropy. Through her Imagination Library, over 2 million books a month are mailed to children under five to help promote their love of reading. Dolly is a true icon! If I won the lottery, I would pay off my student loans, then I would take my family to Disney World and stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge to celebrate!
