HUBUNGAN JENIS KELAMIN DAN UANG SAKU DENGAN TINGKAT DEPRESI PADA MAHASISWA BARUPERGURUAN TINGGI NEGERI DI BANYUWANGI
ABSTRACTDepression is a disease characterized by prolonged sadness and loss of interest in activities that we normally do happily. A freshman is someone who is moving towards personal maturity and is still in transition, freshmen are very susceptible to increased depression. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relation between gender and pocket money with depression levels. This research was an analytical study used a cross sectional study. The data was collected online by distributing the questionnaire link to 110 students. The results of this study was indicate that the largest number of students were women, the maximum amount of pocket money among students was Rp. 500,000 - Rp. 1,000,000. minimum> Rp. 1,000,000.00. Based on the results of statistical tests used the Chi-square test data obtained ρ = 0.068. The value of ρ obtained was more than 0.05, meaning that there was no relationship between pocket money and the level of depression. Between sex and the level of depression, the data obtained ρ = 0.091, the value of ρ obtained was greater than 0.05, meaning that there was no significant relationship between gender and depression levels in new students. The conclusion ofthis study is that there was no significant relationship between gender and the level of depression in freshmen. There was no significant relationship between the allowance factor and the level of depression in new students. Keywords: New Students, Depression, Gender, Allowance.

Owing to promoted electron-hole separation, the catalytic activity of semiconducting quantum dots (QDs) towards solar hydrogen (H2) production has been significantly enhanced by forming self-assembled clusters with ZnSe QDs made ex situ. Taking advantage of the favored interparticle hole transfer to ZnSe QDs, the rate of solar H2 evolution of CdSe QDs can be increased to ∼30 000 μmol h-1 g-1 with ascorbic acid as the sacrificial reagent, ∼150-fold higher than that of bare CdSe QDs clusters under the same conditions.

Trigonella foenum-graecum seed extract has demonstrated hormone modulatory activity, providing biological plausibility for relieving menopausal symptoms. The study aimed to assess efficacy of a standardized T. foenum-graecum de-husked seed extract in reducing menopausal symptoms in healthy aging women. The study was a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial that recruited 115 women aged 40 to 65years of which 59 were allocated to active (n=54 completed) and 56 to placebo (n=50 completed). Active treatment was T. foenum-graecum de-husked seed extract, 600mg per day for 12weeks. Outcome measures included Menopause-Specific Quality of Life (MENQOL) questionnaire, frequency of hot flushes and night sweats and serum estradiol levels. There was a significant reduction in menopausal symptoms in the active group compared with placebo as assessed by total MENQOL score (p<0.001); reflected by significant improvements in the vasomotor (p<0.001), psychosocial (p<0.001), physical (p<0.001) and sexual symptoms (p<0.001) domains. Vasomotor outcomes correlated with hot flushes, the active group reporting significantly less daytime hot flushes and night sweats at 12weeks (p<0.001). The average estradiol levels were similar in both the active group and placebo group after treatment. This study demonstrated that this proprietary T. foenum-graecum de-husked seed extract may reduce menopausal symptoms in healthy women. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
