The function of electronic medical records in general is to improve the quality of services provided to patients. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method and data collected through observation and interviews, the informants in this study are 3 people, namely the head of the medical record coordinator, registration officer and IT officer. Factors that hinder the readiness to implement electronic medical records include 3 aspects, namely: Human resources (HR), infrastructure and information technology (IT). The results obtained at the Karel Sadsuitubun Langgur Hospital are the lack of understanding and knowledge of officers related to electronic medical records, inadequate computers in the polyclinic room due to cost constraints, and the lack of integration with Satu Sehat. The readiness of the implementation of electronic medical records at Karel Sadsuitubun Langgur Hospital is still hampered by these 3 aspects so that there is a need for socialization and training to officers, the holding of computers in each polyclinic room so that services can run optimally and immediately cooperate with Satu Sehat.

This practice report explores a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) course focused on awareness and esteem development for women teachers in South Sudan and volunteers associated with a US-based university. Pedagogy of hope was utilized as an educational tool for implementation and evaluation. Assessments of this COIL course focused on data from exit tickets and a final writing assignment. Self-perceptions of the participating teachers were analyzed based on their sense of preparedness, confidence, comfort levels with the class, and any impact the course had on teachers’ sense of teaching as a personal calling. Practitioners and teaching professionals interested in international virtual exchange will find key takeaways related to building partnerships starting with low-stakes initiatives and using COIL to help ignite advances in digital maturity in South Sudan.

For years, Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States avoided joint marketing or branding; in spite of their common mission and heritage, the institutions have long faced competition for students with similar academic profiles from common geographic regions. But in 2015, the institutions overcame their differences to launch a joint national marketing campaign that capitalised on Pope Francis’ first visit to the United States. As the first Jesuit leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis is viewed by many as a transformational figure, whose leadership style is influenced by his Jesuit education. The offices of marketing and communication for US Jesuit colleges and universities saw the visit as an opportunity to show how they all offer the same kind of education that has made Pope Francis so effective as a leader, and did so by encouraging prospective students to visit a common microsite to learn about all their schools. Working together with the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities, they launched a month-long national campaign that drew public exposure and garnered visits to every single one of their homepages through the microsite. The success of this campaign led to two more campaigns in 2018: a jointly-funded promotional video for Jesuit higher education and a social media campaign in support of Loyola University Chicago’s men’s basketball team’s appearance in the Final Four round of the 2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. In an era of shrinking state and federal support for education (and smaller numbers of traditional-aged students), Jesuit schools have found ways to overcome competition and work together in pursuit of the same shared goal: helping new students understand and appreciate the value of a Jesuit higher education.
