This paper focuses on an approach to address large-scale data gathered from heterogeneous sources by integrating static and dynamic data in hierarchical clusterization, and its application to the analysis of retail branches. Traditionally, branch clustering analysis has relied on static information and the utilization of statistical measures to extract relevant features from the dynamic data and incorporate them into the static dataset; however, the application of this approach presents several challenges. This research proposes a solution that addresses these disadvantages while aiming to maintain the success achieved when applying unsupervised machine learning algorithms. The paper presents an approach based on the integration of static attributes and time series data in a hierarchical clustering manner that enables the identification of key performance indicators and offers insight into factors that influence branch performance over time. The results show the potential to optimize resource allocation, inventory management, and customer service strategies. The proposed approach is demonstrated using retail shop data from a Spanish telecommunications company (Grupo Masmovil), highlighting its effectiveness in enhancing cluster profiling and offering meaningful insights beyond the prevailing approaches. This method presents significant enrichment for clustering analysis that can be applied to different domains. • Integrated static and time-series data for comprehensive retail branch clustering. • Successfully applied the approach to a Spanish telecommunications company data. • Addressed big data variety by proposing hierarchical clustering for data integration. • The proposed approach extends beyond retail and is applicable to diverse domains.

Abstract This paper discusses the development and installation of the first Open Hole Gravel Pack Completion (OHGP) with fiber optic technology inside 7-5/8" casing in Azeri Chirag Gunashli (ACG), Azerbaijan. Fiber Optic installed across sand face completion allows real-time measurement of the temperature profile across reservoir section which could be used to interpret the downhole production profile and improve reservoir management in complex reservoirs. It can also be used for acoustic sensing for sand entry point detection and VSP (Vertical Seismic Profile) measurement. Fiber Optic Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) has been integrated into OHGP completions in ACG since 2005, however previous application was limited for 9-5/8" casing only due to unavailability of hydraulic fiber optic Control Line Wet Mate (CLWM) technology for smaller casing size. This CLWM allows the fiber to be pumped into control line attached on sand control screen at lower completion. As more sidetrack wells have been performed using 7-5/8" liner and it is estimated 60% of future well stock is sidetrack, the need to develop the 7-5/8" OHGP system with deployed fiber optic capability is increasingly important to continue assist reservoir management. This requires new development of 7-5/8" GP Packer system with hydraulic wet-mate capability, new 3-1/2" Shunted Screen with Fiber Optic Slot and modification of some of lower completion components. The feasibility study, engineering design and rigorous qualification including yard test of the new system were performed for ~2 years before the system was ready for field trial. The first trial of 7-5/8" OHGP completion with Fiber Optic has been successfully installed in ACG without any issue. The fiber optic temperature sensing profile has provided valuable value for reservoir management across multiple reservoir sand. This success gave more confidence to apply this technology across field wide in future.

Summary Tunnel valleys are geomorphological expressions of subglacial origin that commonly occur at multiple levels in the shallow subsurface of (formerly) glaciated margins. The origins of the valleys are linked to individual geological events and therefore include a variety of geotechnical properties that are a challenge for marine engineering and development projects. Here, we discuss the geohazards and engineering challenges related to the complex infill of tunnel valleys. Tunnel-valley infill consists of vertically extremely heterogenous sediments, with grain sizes varying from fine-grained clay to boulders, and the sediments are occasionally charged with shallow gas. Ultra-high-resolution 3D and ultra-high-resolution 2D seismic data combined with geophysical, geotechnical and geological analyses permits lateral and vertical characterization of the sediments. Our work reveals that tunnel-valley infill of the same generation, and at the same stratigraphical level, can significantly vary on relatively small lateral scales, and that the infill of one valley cannot always be correlated to its neighbouring valley. Therefore, each location has to be treated with caution.

ObjectiveTo assess the in vitro efficacy on antioxidant potential, protection against global oxidative stress, and effect on collagen neosynthesis of minimalist formula (Peptide‐C ampoules product) containing 10% natural vitamin C, rice and lupin bio‐peptides, hyaluronic acid, and Vichy volcanic mineralizing water (active mix).MethodsIn‐tube quantitative tests (“in‐tube screening”) assessed global antioxidant properties, anti‐lipid peroxidation, anti‐protein glycosylation, and metalloproteinase inhibition (anti‐collagenase, anti‐elastase, and anti‐hyaluronidase activity) properties of the formula. Protection against oxidative stress was evaluated on human keratinocyte monolayer cultures, and collagen neosynthesis was quantified on fibroblast monolayer cultures treated with supernatants from product‐treated reconstructed human epidermis.ResultsProduct (5% concentration) showed high antioxidant ability (blocking 99.0% oxidation), protection against oxidative stress damage (51.8% lipid peroxidation and 37.8% protein glycosylation decreases), and inhibition of hyaluronidase (21.9%), elastase (47.1%), and collagenase (61.8%). The protective effect was validated on human keratinocyte monolayer cultures in the presence of active mix (0.025%). Oxidative stress (ROS) was reduced by 99.0%, while global oxidative stress (RMS) induced by pollution, UVA radiation, and a combination of both factors was reduced by 48.94%, 8.7%, and 96.28%, respectively. The product increased collagen neosynthesis (11.21%) by cellular dialogue in fibroblasts incubated with product/mix‐treated‐RHE supernatants.ConclusionThe combination of ingredients in the product showed high global antioxidant capacity, as well as a protective effect against oxidative stress induced by UVA, pollution, or both combined factors and an ability to stimulate collagen neosynthesis in in vitro studies, which support the clinical efficacy of this product.

Backgrounds/AimsAdditional surgical procedures are often required in patients with chronic pancreatitis (CP) related complications. The present study aims to analyze the type of additional procedures required in patients who underwent Frey’s procedure (Frey’s plus) and to compare the short-term outcomes and quality of life with patients who underwent only Frey’s procedure.MethodsRetrospective analysis of a prospectively maintained database of patients who underwent surgery for CP between January 2012 and February 2018 and completed at least one year of follow-up. Patients who underwent non-Frey’s surgical procedures were excluded. Clinical parameters, postoperative pain relief (using Izbicki pain score) and functioning scale score (EORTC QLQ C30) of patients who underwent Frey’s plus procedure and only Frey’s procedure were compared.ResultsOf the 146 patients who underwent surgery for CP during the study period, 100 patients (Frey’s procedure–68, Frey’s plus procedure–32) were included in this study. Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy was the commonly performed additional procedure (n=12). The demographic and clinical parameters were comparable, except for more patients with jaundice (28.1% vs. 2.9%, p=0.01) and prolonged operative time (374.6 mins vs. 326.3 mins, p=0.01) in Frey’s plus group. However, there was no significant difference in mean intraoperative blood loss, postoperative morbidity or duration of hospital stay. At median (range) follow up of 34 (12-86) months, there was no significant difference in the pain control and quality of life between two groups.ConclusionsFrey’s plus procedure for chronic pancreatitis can be safely performed wherever indicated without adversely affecting the postoperative outcome or quality of life.

Objectives:Gender-affirming hormone therapy (GHT) is utilized by people who are transgender to align their secondary sex characteristics with their gender identity. Data relating to cardiovascular outcomes in this population are limited. We aimed to review the impact of GHT on the blood pressure (BP) of transgender individuals. Methods:We searched PubMed/MEDLINE, SCOPUS and Cochrane Library databases for articles published relating to the BP of transgender adults commencing GHT. Methodological quality was assessed via the ‘Quality Assessment Tool for Before–After (Pre–Post) Studies with No Control Group’.Results:Six hundred articles were screened, of which 14 studies were included in this systematic review encompassing 1309 individuals (∼50% transgender men and women) treated with GHT between 1989 and 2019. These articles were all pre–post observational studies without control groups. Mean ages ranged between 23.0–36.7 years (transgender men) and 25.2–34.8 years (transgender women). Interventions were diverse and included oral, transdermal and injectable hormonal preparations with 4 months to 5 years follow-up. Most studies in transgender men did not demonstrate a change in BP, whereas transgender women on GHT demonstrated both increases and decreases in SBP. These studies were heterogenous with significant methodological limitations and only two were determined to have a good quality rating. Conclusion:There is currently insufficient data to advise the impact of GHT on BP in transgender individuals. Better quality research is essential to elucidate whether exogenous sex hormones modulate BP in transgender people and whether this putative alteration infers poorer cardiovascular outcomes.
