O seguinte estudo detalha o caso clínico de um paciente de 34 anos diagnosticado com a doença de Behçet, uma vasculite inflamatória crônica multissistêmica. No curso de sua condição, o paciente desenvolveu o Transtorno Bipolar Tipo I, caracterizado pela ocorrência de episódios de mania e depressão, manifestando concomitantemente sintomas psicóticos que se mostraram congruentes com o estado de humor predominante. A apresentação deste caso visa sublinhar a complexidade inerente ao processo de diagnóstico diferencial em pacientes que exibem comorbidades tanto de ordem médica quanto psiquiátrica. Adicionalmente, ressalta os desafios associados ao manejo terapêutico otimizado nesses contextos clínicos complexos. Particular ênfase é dedicada à necessidade de uma avaliação minuciosa dos potenciais efeitos adversos de fármacos comumente utilizados no tratamento da doença de Behçet, notadamente os corticosteroides, conhecidos por sua capacidade de induzir ou exacerbar manifestações psiquiátricas. O objetivo central deste relato é, portanto, contribuir para uma maior compreensão dos intrincados aspectos envolvidos no cuidado de pacientes com condições médicas e psiquiátricas sobrepostas, oferecendo insights relevantes para a prática clínica.

This study aims to test the effect of implementing the Make A Match cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SD Negeri 23 Bandar Baru. This study used a quasi-experimental design with two groups, namely the experimental group that implemented the Make A Match model and the control group that used traditional teaching methods. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a significant increase in their learning outcomes, both in terms of understanding the material and retention of important concepts in Islamic Religious Education. In addition, based on the learning interest questionnaire, students in the experimental group also showed increased engagement and higher motivation during learning. Further classroom observations confirmed these findings, where students in the experimental group were more active in discussing and collaborating with their classmates. This study suggests that implementing the Make A Match model can improve student learning outcomes and engagement in Islamic Religious Education learning, and can be an effective alternative to traditional teaching methods.

Introduction: A sharp increase in the incidence of chest tumours has led to an increased demand for Computed Tomography (CT)-guided lung biopsy. Pneumothorax remains the most common complication of CT-guided coaxial core needle lung biopsy. Pneumothorax triggers shortness of breath and chest pain, which leads to prolonged inpatient stay. To reduce the incidence of pneumothorax, a predictive model in the form of nomogram was developed using the potential risk factors to identify patients at high-risk for pneumothorax. Aim: To investigate the risk factors of pneumothorax and develop a nomogram model using the independent risk factors to predict pneumothorax after CT-guided coaxial core needle lung biopsy and to validate the prediction model in a test population. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional time-bound study was done at Barnard Institute of Radiology, Madras Medical College, and Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India from October 2023 to October 2024. The study included 335 patients who were referred to the Department of interventional radiology for CT-guided coaxial core needle lung biopsy to diagnose lung nodules or masses suspected of malignancy in chest CT. A total of 28 variables were assessed, which included baseline patient characteristics, primary pulmonary diseases, target lesion image characteristics, and biopsy-related variables. Of the total sample size of 335 patients, 233 (70%) were part of the development group, and 102 patients were included in the validation group (30%). Multivariate and univariate logistic regression analysis methods were used to identify the independent risk factors of pneumothorax, which were used to develop the nomogram risk prediction model. The prediction model was validated in a test population of 102 patients. Results: A total of 51 (21.88%) patients developed pneumothorax post CT-guided lung biopsy among the development group, and 20 (19.60%) patients among the validation group also developed pneumothorax. Seven independent risk factors were determined among the assessed variables using multivariate logistic regression analysis, which included age, emphysema, pleural thickening, fissure traversed, patient position, size grade, and lesion depth. The seven factors were used to construct a nomogram risk prediction model. Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves were used for validate the nomogram model. In the development group, Area Under Curve (AUC) was 0.921, and in the validation group, AUC was 0.897. Conclusion: A nomogram risk prediction model for pneumothorax was developed using the seven independent risk factors and has proven to be accurate and statistically valid. The nomogram model can thus help predict pneumothorax in clinical practice, assisting interventional radiologists in avoiding risk factors.

Xanthogranulomatous inflammation of the genital tract is uncommon but usually involves the endometrium. A 19-year-old girl presented with an abdominopelvic lump with a history of fever, irregular menses, and loss of appetite. On examination, a cystic, irregular, mobile mass of around 22-24 weeks’ uterine size was felt. On investigation, CA-125 was 16 U/mL, CA19.9 was 2.43U/mL, AFP was 0, and Inhibin B was 319.92 pg/mL. The CT scan mimicked ovarian malignancy. She underwent an exploratory laparotomy for the same reason, but upon rupture, cheesy material appeared from the mass. A frozen section was sent with pus culture showed no growth, and the pus culture showed no growth. However, the final histopathology report suggested foamy macrophages, neutrophils, and CD68-positive histiocytes, indicative of xanthogranulomatous oophoritis.Such patients present with a long-standing history of pelvic inflammatory disease and symptoms such as anorexia, fever, and lower abdominal pain. The radiological findings mimic ovarian malignancy. A frozen section can be helpful to rule out malignancy. Xanthogranulomatous oophoritis is a rare entity that poses a diagnostic challenge.

Formal methods encompass a wide choice of techniques and tools for the specification, development, analysis, and verification of software and hardware systems. Formal methods are widely applied in industry, in activities ranging from the elicitation of requirements and the early design phases all the way to the deployment, configuration, and runtime monitoring of actual systems. Formal methods allow one to precisely specify the environment in which a system operates, the requirements and properties that the system should satisfy, the models of the system used during the various design steps, and the code embedded in the final implementation, as well as to express conformance relations between these specifications. We present a broad scope of successful applications of formal methods in industry, not limited to the well-known success stories from the safety-critical domain, like railways and other transportation systems, but also covering other areas such as lithography manufacturing and cloud security in e-commerce, to name but a few. We also report testimonies from a number of representatives from industry who, either directly or indirectly, use or have used formal methods in their industrial project endeavours. These persons are spread geographically, including Europe, Asia, North and South America, and the involved projects witness the large coverage of applications of formal methods, not limited to the safety-critical domain. We thus make a case for the importance of formal methods, and in particular of the capacity to abstract and mathematical reasoning that are taught as part of any formal methods course. These are fundamental Computer Science skills that graduates should profit from when working as computer scientists in industry, as confirmed by industry representatives.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana etika belajar peserta didik dalam perspektif Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa etika belajar peserta didik dalam Islam mencakup prinsip-prinsip yang mendalam dan holistik, yang melibatkan niat yang ikhlas, penghormatan terhadap guru, disiplin dan kesungguhan, serta kejujuran, kesabaran, dan konsistensi. Niat yang ikhlas memastikan bahwa belajar dilakukan dengan tujuan mencari ridha Allah dan manfaat untuk umat, sementara penghormatan terhadap guru mencerminkan rasa hormat dan adab dalam proses pendidikan. Disiplin dan kesungguhan mendukung keteraturan dan dedikasi dalam belajar, sedangkan kejujuran menjamin integritas akademis. Sabar dan konsisten membantu peserta didik menghadapi tantangan dengan ketenangan dan tekad yang kuat. Berdoa dan memohon bimbingan Allah mengintegrasikan aspek spiritual dalam proses belajar, menjadikannya sebagai bagian dari ibadah dan perjalanan spiritual.

O estudo dos micronadadores sintéticos tem sido um grande impulsionador da pesquisa científica, marcando um avanço significativo na tecnologia. Visando replicar o comportamento dos modelos biológicos, uma variedade de modelos artificiais está sendo desenvolvida, demandando esforços consideráveis no desenvolvimento de técnicas de fabricação, design e estratégias de propulsão eficientes. A capacidade de se locomoverem em ambientes biológicos com propriedades diversas desperta interesse devido às suas amplas aplicações biomédicas, como entrega de drogas e microcirurgias. Neste estudo, realizamos o acoplamento do problema da interação fluidonadador, descrito pela equação de Stokes, e as equações de movimento para sólidos rígidos, à técnicas de aprendizagem por reforço. Realizamos um estudo exploratório do método aplicado a alguns problemas de interesse, visando compreender o potencial dessa abordagem no controle dos micronadadores.

Graphs are often used to model diverse, complex phenomena in many fields, such as social networks, brain region connectivity, or protein-protein interaction. However, due to the complexity of their structure, standard statistical methods are insufficient in searching for a correlation between populations of graphs. In a recent paper by Takahashi et al. (2012), they suggested that the graph spectrum is a good fingerprint of the graphs structure, and they developed several statistical methods based on this feature. These methods, however, rely on the distribution of the eigenvalues of the graph being real-valued, which is false when graphs are directed or weighted. In this thesis, we extend their results to directed graphs by working with the distribution of complex eigenvalues instead. Then, we constructed a parameter estimator, a model selection approach, a statistical test to compare two populations of graphs, a test for association between a graph and variables of interest, and a clustering algorithm.
