Sa jedne strane, centralna Bosna sa svojim planinama i uzvišenjima djeluje kao zatvoreni prostor sa manjim ili većim predjelima pogodnim za naseljavanje. S druge strane, ovaj dio Bosne predstavlja jednu važnu komunikaciju između srednjeg Podunavlja i jadransko-mediteranskog prostora. Već od ranog neolitika je dokazana važnost ove komunikacije koja prati riječne tokove Bosne i Neretve. Na izuzetno značenje ovog puta već je ranije ukazano. U centralnom području ovih poriječja nalazi se 36 lokaliteta butmirske kulture, koja, kao jasno određena grupa srednjeg i kasnog neolita, povezuje srednje Podunavlje i jadranski prostor. Butmirska naselja tel tipa nalaze se ili u dolinama pritoka rijeke Bosne ili izravno u dolini same Bosne. Ovdje se u prvom redu misli na sarajevsku, visočku i zeničku kotlinu, koje čine zatvorene naseobinske strukture butmirske grupe. U sarajevskoj kotlini najveće tel-naselje se nalazi u samom Butmiru, dok je u visočkoj kotlini najveće naselje tog tipa u Okolištu. Sa površinom od oko 7- 5 hektara Okolište3 je ujedno i najveći tel u Bosni. Četiri ostala naselja butmirske kulture grupiraju se prema svemu sudeći kao satelitska neselja oko ovog centralnog naselja u visočkoj kotlini.

Ground penetrating radar was used for mapping the layout of a Roman villa rustica. Adjacent rescue excavation results were mapped by UAV photogrammetry. The combination with a photogrammetric model enables a ground truthing of GPR results

We present an integrated prospection of the remains a medieval monastery in Lower Franconia (Germany) built over with a Renaissance castle. The geophysical data is combined with a photogrammetric model of the Renaissance castle. Based on the geophysical data, a virtual reconstruction of the medieval church was achieved.
