A model system for the simulation of the breaching process induced by both wave overtopping from the shoreward side of dikes and wave impacts from the seaside, has been developed and is described in this paper. The model system is made of a preliminary model and a detailed model. The former has been used to simulate the breach formation and growth in a real coastal dike, including the effects of waves and grass protection. Details of the models are given and exemplary results are compared to each other. Furthermore, inundation models have been applied to model the flood induced by dike breaching where the uncertainties of the model and further research requirements are discussed in more detail.

This symposium report summarizes first extensive clinical findings with injectable testosterone undecanoate (Nebido®) in hypogonadal patients showing clinical symptoms of androgen deficiency with or without erectile dysfunction (ED). This new testosterone formulation (1000 mg testosterone undecanoate in 4 ml castor oil) possesses nearly ideal long-term kinetics, i.e. sustained close mimicking of eugonadal testosterone serum levels without supra- or sub-physiological serum concentrations. The generally accepted administration scheme recommends the second injection 6 weeks after the first one followed by further injections every 12 weeks. Applying this regimen, administration intervals are drastically reduced in comparison to conventional i.m. testosterone preparations (e.g. about 16 injections of testosterone enanthate vs. 4–5 injections of testosterone undecanoate per year). Depending on the testosterone serum levels, individualized therapy is possible by shortening (every 10 weeks) or prolonging (every 14 weeks) the injection intervals. In hypogonadal patients with ED 58% respond to testosterone undecanoate alone. Best results are seen in diabetic hypogonadal patients. The regimen of injectable testosterone undecanoate administration ideally fits recommendations regarding pharmacokinetics, efficacy and safety monitoring.

Résumé Révision des Tychus du groupe dalmatinus et description de nouvelles espèces (Coleoptera: Pselaphidae). — Cette révision complète un travail antérieur (Besuchet & Sabella, 1996) et porte sur les espèces suivantes: Tychus dalmatinus Reitter, 1880; Tychus ibericus (Motschulsky, 1835); Tychus bosnicus Ganglbauer, 1897; Tychus bescidicus Reitter, 1901; Tychus tritomus Dodero, 1919; Tychus reitteri Karaman, 1955; Tychus affinis Besuchet, 1958; Tychus henroti Meggiolaro, 1966 et Tychus sbordonii Meggiolaro, 1967. Pour chaque espèces sont indiquées les références bibliographiques le plus importantes, les caractères morphologiques, en particulier ceux portant sur les antennes, l'édeage et le telisternite, ainsi que la distribution géographique. Quatre nouvelles espèces sont décrites: Tychus cilicicus, sp. n. et Tychus pamphylicus, sp. n. du sud de la Turquie, Tychus rhodensis, sp. n. de Rhodes et du sud-est de la Turquie et Tychus argolicus, sp. n. du Péloponèse (sud de la Grèce). Le groupe inclut probablement Tychus kurilensis Kurbatov, 1992 des îles Kouriles. La synonymie Tychus mutinensis Reitter, 1884 = Tychus dalmatinus Reitter, 1880 est re-proposée après examen d'un abondant matériel. Le néotype de Tychus ibericus (Motschulsky, 1835) est désigné.
