Black men are disproportionately impacted by oral and pharyngeal cancer (OPC) mortality. This is in part due to a lack of information received about OPCs and their associated risk factors during health encounters. Discussions between dentists and Black men may improve Black men's knowledge, screening, and treatment uptake. Yet, dentists do not commonly communicate with Black men about OPCs due to their own discomfort. This paper describes the protocol for our research project, which proposes an initiative, grounded in community-based participatory research, to adapt a culturally-specific OPC communication tool. This tool will be adapted using a mixed-methods approach to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and experiences of Black men discussing OPCs and associated risk factors with dental providers. The tool will then be assessed for feasibility and acceptability among Black men, as well as dental students and dental providers in community-based clinical settings.

This article examines the participation of representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church in public
\nand political life in the White-controlled South. In particular, the motives and goals of church authorities’ interactions
\nwith political forces, activities of supra-party organizations with a wide representation of the Orthodox clergy,
\nand the “church” aspects of their politics are examined. The significance attached by these organizations to union
\nwith the Orthodox Church and its place in the socio-political life of the country is described. The characteristic
\nof the activity of the only Orthodox right-wing nationalist party “Brotherhood of the Holy Cross” and the identity
\nof its organizer, Archpriest Vladimir Vostokov, are noted as well as the attitude of church authorities, clergy and
\nthe public to it. Put this way, the problem for the first time in historiography is subjected to a comprehensive study with a wide range of sources based on situation reports from the Fund of the Political office of the Chairperson of
\nthe special Meeting of the Volunteer army, and documentation of the Temporary higher Church administration
\nand the periodicals of the South of Russia. Despite the wide participation of the clergy in political life, the organs
\nof ecclesiastical administration studiously avoided politicization of the Church that would draw it into the political
\nstruggle. The Church saw its task only in national unity while preserving the balance of political forces under the
\nauthority of the Commander-in-chief as representative of the legitimate government — an ally of the Church in
\nthe face of Bolshevism.

Responsible fatherhood programs have proliferated in the United States during the past several decades, yet few studies have been conducted of their effects on fathers and children. Evaluation of these programs requires attention to 2 questions that have not been adequately addressed: What are the specific outcomes expected from fathers’ participation in programs, and how do we measure those outcomes? In this article, we suggest 3 theoretical frameworks for fatherhood programs: attachment theory, family systems theory, and the risk–resilience perspective. Promising outcome measures and the need to develop new measures are discussed.

Social media will change the business scenario in ways we have yet to imagine—but ignoring it will be a bigger mistake than any we are likely to make by embracing it. A mobile computing entrepreneur offers three important tips for companies on the verge of entering this new frontier.

BACKGROUND It has been reported that intense pulsed light is efficacious for rejuvenation of photoaged skin, specifically the improvement of appearance of telangiectases and solar lentigines. OBJECTIVE The objective was to define the treatment variables for photodamaged facial skin using a newer intense pulsed light system. METHODS Twenty-three female subjects received three treatments using double-stacked pulses with fluences of 24 and 30 J/cm2. Response to treatment was evaluated using digital photography. Three signs of photoaging were evaluated: surface texture/roughness, mottled hyperpigmentation, and erythema/telangiectases. RESULTS There was a shift in clinical grading from more to less severe on all three measures of photoaging. CONCLUSION Intense pulsed light therapy was efficacious in ameliorating the clinical signs of photoaging. The device was well tolerated with minimal side effects.

Of the more than one million earthquakes which occur each year on our planet, very few involve areas of major population concentration. During the last decade, however, a significantly large number of earthquakes involved populations in cities or areas of large population density. The injuries, therefore, are multiplied by the collapse of large buildings or of walls of houses of poor design and construction of adobe brick. Crashing upon people asleep, they entrap, entomb or mutilate defenseless and often aged, ill, and diseased and helpless pediatric victims. The three earthquakes we witnessed recently have resulted in 70,000 deaths in Peru;, 12,000 in Managua, Nicaragua;, and 22,000 in Guatemala City and large suburban cities. Most of the injuries are orthopedic fractures. Fatalities often occur from compression and permanent restriction of respiratory movement. These megaton disruptions of the environment cause the following types of respiratory challenge: (l) The unbelievably large and dense dust clouds from falling buildings, created by pulverization of the walls of mud, straw, and limestone, create suffocating chemical damage of some degree to the nasal mucosa, the bronchial tree and the respiratory bronchioles, immediately initiating endothelial edema, airway obstruction and collapse, and irritational bronchitis.
