A new calculation mode has been developed inside the Miro software to treat the broad-band effects involved in optical smoothing. Bandwidth effects such as gain narrowing in amplifiers or group velocity difference in frequency converters can be computed. This program has been used to simulate the Megajoules laser with smoothing by spectral dispersion.

The notion of a multiresolution support is introduced. This is a sequence of boolean images, related to significant pixels at each of a number of resolution levels. The multiresolution support is then used for noise suppression, in the context of iterative image restoration. Algorithmic details and examples illustrate this approach.

This paper deals with causality commutations which occur in bond graph models including certain discontinuous or nonlinear elements. How to describe elements with changing causal properties is discussed. A graphical notation and two causality assignment procedures are proposed for variable causality. Then a method for deriving elementary causal equations from a variable causality assignment is developed. >

Generating application software can be considered as one final aim of a programming system. In the area of scientific applications, it was chosen to evaluate the ATES system by writing two applications using the Finite Element Method.

A Markov model considering physical and design faults for a 2-version architecture oriented to safety-related applications is developed. The model can be split into two sub-models dealing with physical and design faults separately.
