This study aims to determine the effect of different altitudes on the quality of Gedong Gincu mango fruit, and to determine which altitude has better quality of Gedong Gincu mango fruit. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati Cirebon, West Java. The research was conducted from July to August 2024. The research method used was the survey method, covering Jatibarang District (Krasak Village, Pawidean, and Jati Sawit) as a lowland, and Greged District (Gemulung Tonggoh Village, Jati Pancur, and Lebak Mekar) as a highland. From each altitude, 30 Gedong Gincu mangoes were taken. Variables measured included weight loss, fruit hardness, fruit diameter, total soluble solids, vitamin C content, and organoleptic test. Data were analyzed using two independent samples t-test, and Wilcoxon test for organoleptic. The results showed that differences in altitude made a difference to the 4th day weight loss, total soluble solids content, 4th day vitamin C content, 1st and 4th day hardness, as well as on taste, aroma and consumer preference. Gedong Gincu mango fruit from the lowlands had higher weight loss and total soluble solids than those from the highlands, while vitamin C content and hardness of Gedong Gincu mango fruit from the lowlands were lower than those from the highlands. The flavor and aroma parameters of highland Gedong Gincu mango fruit were preferred over Gedong Gincu mango fruit from the lowlands.

Medical-legal partnerships integrate legal advocates into health care settings to address health-related social needs. However, their effect on health outcomes is unclear. This retrospective cohort study examined the effect of referral to a medical-legal partnership on hospitalization rates among urban, low-income children in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio, between 2012 and 2017. We compared 2,203 children referred to a pediatric primary care-based medical-legal partnership with 100 randomly selected control cohorts drawn from 34,235 children seen concurrently but not referred. We found that the median predicted hospitalization rate for children in the year after referral was 37.9percent lower if children received the legal intervention than if they did not. We suspect that this decrease in hospitalizations was driven by the ability of legal advocates to address acute legal needs (for example, threat of eviction and public benefit denial) and, when possible, to confront root causes of ill health (for example, unhealthy housing conditions). Interventions such as those provided through a medical-legal partnership may be important components of integrated, value-based service delivery models.

The Bicycle Transportation Alliance’s Bicycle Safety and Awareness Program was formed in Portland, Oregon, USA, for children in fourth through seventh grade. A degree of skill and cognitive ability is required in the navigation of a bicycle; thus, young children who are in early stages of development are particularly at risk of bicycle injury. Nevertheless, bicycling is a common activity for children, and many community-based programs exist to teach them how to cycle safely and responsibly. In the delivery of its multifaceted, school-based program, the Bicycle Transportation Alliance has addressed many issues faced by these community-based prevention programs. The way that this comprehensive program holistically addresses environmental, legislative, and behavioral factors is part of what makes it such an exemplary program. In recent years, the Bicycle Transportation Alliance has changed its name to The Street Trust, and the program name Bicycle Safety and Awareness Program has changed to the bicycle safety program. The program continues to operate with its original format and continues to be supported by the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Kids Can’t Fly is a prevention program from Boston aimed at preventing the phenomenon of very young children falling out of windows. Kids Can’t Fly targeted the needs of the highest risk population—i.e., those who are of low socioeconomic status. In so doing, Kids Can’t Fly addresses the complex relationship between adequate supervision and socioeconomic status by combining environmental interventions, a safety device for the window, with effective modes of disseminating both information and the safety device itself. Kids Can’t Fly worked with community stakeholders and experts to choose, provide, and install a device in windows that would physically stop children from falling out. Also, Kids Can’t Fly worked with local agencies to communicate to parents about the real prevalence of this problem. This prevention program achieved remarkable results.
