This chapter looks at how transformational leadership may change the way we think about teaching local history, through an emphasis on how culture of organization affects this in Ethiopia's education system. The study uses a quantitative research methodology through a sample size of 385 people to look at the nexus among transformational leadership, culture of organization, as well as new ways of teaching local history. The outcomes show that transformational leadership has a big impact on how local history is taught by creating an culture of organization that supports innovation as well as teamwork among teachers. This chapter shows how transformational leaders may get people involved in local history by getting them to try innovative teaching methods. The effects on how schools work are huge, showing how essential it is for leaders to create an environment that encourages new ideas. Schools may better meet the needs of all their students by encouraging a transformational approach to teaching local history.

The convergence of blockchain technology with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) has significantly transformed data analytics within Cognitive Internet of Things (CIoT) systems. This chapter investigates the critical performance metrics and evaluation methods necessary to assess the impact and effectiveness of AI/ML-enhanced blockchain analytics. It examines how blockchain contributes to data integrity, transparency, and security, while AI/ML algorithms enhance data processing and decision-making capabilities. The chapter outlines essential performance indicators, analytical approaches, and evaluation techniques for measuring the success of these integrated systems. By presenting case studies and practical examples, it addresses the challenges and benefits associated with deploying these technologies, offering guidance for optimizing performance and achieving reliable results. This analysis is aimed at professionals and researchers who seek to leverage blockchain and AI/ML technologies for advancing CIoT systems.

Abstract This study explores the perspectives of Indian library professionals on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in libraries. It aims to understand their knowledge, awareness, and views on AI and its challenges and opportunities. The research adopts a quantitative approach, using a closed-ended survey to collect data from 386 library professionals in academic institutions across India. The survey covers various aspects, including socio-demographic information, AI knowledge, perspectives on AI in libraries, ethical considerations, and adopting AI tools and services. The findings indicate that Indian library professionals are generally aware of AI and its potential benefits in libraries. They believe that AI can enhance library activities, improve accessibility, and support decision-making. However, there are concerns about AI replacing human intelligence within libraries. Factors such as user privacy, funding, staff expertise, and alignment with institutional goals are essential when implementing AI applications. Ethical considerations, including bias and discrimination, intellectual freedom, and transparency, are also significant concerns. AI tools like smart shelving and optical character recognition are among the technologies already adopted in Indian libraries.

Mergers have become a common phenomenon in Malawi over the recent past. Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) have become a common occurrence in the business world, as companies seek strategic partnerships and opportunities for growth. These transactions involve the combining of two or more companies, either through a merger (where two companies join to form a new entity) or an acquisition (where one company purchases another). While M&A activities primarily aim to enhance operational efficiency, expand market presence, and generate economies of scale, they also have a significant impact on consumer buying behavior. This study aims to examine A Study on Mergers and Acquisitions: Challenges and Opportunities Case of Dairibord Limited and Limited, Malawi, Southern Africa. The main objective of the study was to assess the specific challenges and opportunities faced during the acquisition of Dairibord Limited. The respondents are selected in the organisation as the research is in within the organisation. The primary data was collected from 15 respondents and the results of the study shows that there were opportunities like increased market share, cost reduction, market expansion, and access to new technology whilst the challenges mainly revolve around operational integration, regulatory compliance, cultural differences, and employee resistance. This study used Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software to have the themes (main findings) and the tables of the collected data.

The current state of Solid Waste Management in Lilongwe City underscores the need to integrate contemporary and technological approaches for more efficient waste handling, with the support of digital solutions. Despite the severity of the solid waste issue impacting various sectors, including households, businesses, industries, and agriculture, there has been minimal effort to educate communities and townships on the importance of waste separation prior to collection. Recognizing that certain types of waste can be recycled for specific purposes, such as in agriculture, is essential. There is also a need for increased individual involvement to address solid waste management challenges, aiming to shift public perception and promote sustainable waste management practices. The rapid pace of waste production, driven by industrialization and population growth, is concerning. Unauthorized dumping has led to an unpleasant environment, noxious odors, and significant health risks through contamination of land, air, and water resources. Addressing these challenges requires focusing on technology and innovative solutions to manage solid waste effectively. This approach should enhance coordination and improve waste management from the point of creation and categorization to disposal at the dumping site. Implementing such methods could help reduce public health issues related to waste mishandling in urban areas. A proposed digital waste management solution, such as a cloud-based application, could represent a significant step towards achieving effective waste management practices in the city.

The research questions in this paper seek to address the challenges faced by Umodzi Park & Resorts in their centralized procurement system in order to bring efficiency and effectiveness to their day-to-day operations. This paper used empirical and explanatory research methods, which included the collection of primary data through a questionnaire, interviews with procurement personnel, and observations from procurement documents that provided the guidelines and process of procurement. A secondary source of data comes from written and electronic sources. This survey looks at the effectiveness of the centralized procurement system at Umodzi Park & Resorts by comparing the centralized model to the decentralized model and the centralized model to the combined centralized and decentralized models. The sampling type used is quota sampling, which only works with procurement personnel from the head office and its other two branches in Malawi. This study concludes with a recommended combined system of centralized and decentralized procurement and guidelines to follow for a successful procurement system.

Small and medium businesses play a huge and crucial role in the Malawian economy by contributing to job creation and poverty reduction. The purpose of this study is to investigate the value and influence of digital marketing on the buying behavior of consumers in small and medium-sized establishments (SMEs) in the business environment. This research investigates how digital marketing can have a very huge effect on the rapid growth and success of SMEs, which results in improving brand recognition and strengthening customer relationships. This study applies a qualitative research approach that involves a number of companies that operate as SMEs in Malawi. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to help provide the primary data, where respondents had to answer according to the best of their abilities. Secondary data relevant to the study was also gathered through peer-reviewed articles, journals, and websites. The study concludes with the view that digital marketing is identified as a creative and efficient method of acquiring, growing, and maintaining customer relationships. Online platforms such as websites, industry-specific outlets, and forums have been identified as the most beneficial for SMEs. It further recommends that newly established and existing SMEs stand to hugely benefit from adopting digital marketing strategy for creating brand awareness and building brand trust amongst customers.
