THE EUROPEAN UNION TOWARDS DISSOLUTION?
The beginnings of the European Union were very vigorous, because all the European politiciansliked this brilliant idea very much, according to them, and they were all extremely excited by thisnew "populist" attitude. This idea was prepared to withstand the pressures and strong Americaninfluence. They wanted to create a third pole in the bipolar situation of international relations, namely USA BS. This would give the Europeans a common European position in the field ofinternal and external politics, a common European economic, social and social development.Understanding and agreement should have been the watchword of the United Europe, but thesituation after the formation of the EU brought a series of problems and misunderstanding issuesfor the European camp, where everyone thought that the past and its problems between theEuropean states had been forgotten and that it was thought that they were walking on the righttracks, but these are prevailing a lot in bilateral and multilateral relations between European states. The exit of Great Britain from the EU has greatly confused this confusing situation, where othercountries, such as: Poland, Hungary, Sweden, are seeking exit from this union, which wouldpractically lead to the total collapse of the EU . Therefore, in my article I will talk extensivelyabout the reasons for this fear and the ways that can lead to the salvation of the EU. It will alsotalk about the progress of the political trend of populism in Europe, the coming to power ofpopulist parties and how this can be prevented in the future. This could be fatal for the future ofthe European Union and Europe in general, because it could result in the disintegration of the EU.
Read moreA Test Environment for Wireless Hacking in Domestic IoT Scenarios
Security is gaining importance in the daily life of every citizen. The advent of Internet of Things devices in our lives is changing our conception of being connected through a single device to a multiple connection in which the centre of connection is becoming the devices themselves. This conveys the attack vector for a potential attacker is exponentially increased. This paper presents how the concatenation of several attacks on communication protocols (WiFi, Bluetooth LE, GPS, 433 Mhz and NFC) can lead to undesired situations in a domestic environment. A comprehensive analysis of the protocols with the identification of their weaknesses is provided. Some relevant aspects of the whole attacking procedure have been presented to provide some relevant tips and countermeasures.

Cars capture and generate huge volumes of data in real-time about the driving dynamics, the environment, and the driver and passengers' activities. Due to the proliferation of cooperative, connected and automated mobility (CCAM), the value of data from vehicles is getting strategic, not just for the automotive industry, but also for many diverse stakeholders including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups. 5G can enable car-captured data to feed innovative applications and services deployed in the cloud ensuring lower latency and higher throughput than previous cellular technologies. This paper identifies and discusses the relevance of the main 5G features that can contribute to a scalable, flexible, reliable and secure data pipeline, pointing to the standards and technical reports that specify their implementation.

The purpose of the D2.3 is twofold. Its first goal is mainly to provide an architecture capable of addressing the set of requirements necessary to deploy different innovative use cases based on vehicular data monetisation among which the demonstrators that will be carried out within the 5GMETA project. This architecture, in its first iteration, is designed to incorporate several cutting edge 5G features and cloud-hosted services that will ensure the data monetisation objective of the project. The second aim of the deliverable is to specify open application interfaces dedicated to Third Party, through which they can access the available 5GMETA platform services.

We describe compositional architectures and certifications in the research project certMILS. Compositional architectures enable re-use of certified COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) components with a well-defined delegation of responsibilities between component developers and system integrators during cyber physical system design and certification. We show how we used a Common Criteria certified MILS (Multiple Independent Levels of Safety / Security) platform for compositional designs and IEC 62443-4-1/62443-4-2 security evaluations and certifications for composed systems from the domains of smart grid, railway, and subway, that are safety- and security-critical.
Read moreDetermination of Creep Properties from Small Punch Test with Reverse Algorithm
In the early 1980’s, the small punch technique was developed in USA and Japan. This technique has been applied to nuclear reactors, electric power plants for safety assessments. European researchers have carried out the pioneer work on SP creep testing in the 1990’s. European Code of Practice (CoP) documents have become available in 2006, which provides a guide line to perform small punch tests for metallic materials, and introduces methods for estimation of tensile properties, fracture toughness and creep properties. Since then several conferences and symposiums have been held to exchange ideas and experiences, and several efforts have been made to improve the approaches for interpreting the material properties from test results. However, due to the complexity of the small punch test itself and lack of systematic test data for verification, especially in the creep region, up to now there is no common acceptable method to interpret creep properties. This paper discusses some of the problems commonly encountered in the small punch creep test (SPCT) analysis, such as the uniqueness in reverse creep analysis for identification of material parameters, how to consider effects of large deformation and strain hardening, how to separate deflection into a part caused by loading and a part caused by creep, and how to estimate the elastic-plastic properties of a material in the creep temperature region. Based on these considerations, several existing approaches for interpreting creep properties have been re-evaluated. In addition, a software package, based on the optimization toolbox of Matlab has been developed for identification of material parameters automatically. Verifications are performed by checking the agreement between properties derived by small punch test and uni-axial tests. Discussions on problems of existing approaches and how to improve them further, are described in the paper. Experimental data are provided by JRC Petten, Netherlands, and Henan Electric Power Research Institute, China. Recently a working group led by JRC Petten is engaged in upgrading the CoP to a European standard. It is expected that in the future more data will become available for further verification.
