This paper presents a key part of the design process of an e-health application for elderly patients in a home setting. It encompasses the key scenarios, use cases and the architecture consisting of system components, applications, and interfaces for supporting homecare of users with chronic health conditions. Care at home intends to provide health care at the same level and quality at the patient's home complementary to the work done in other health sectors. This paper presents a global overview of the design methodology in addition to depicting the different layers of the system and their components. This paper builds upon known requirements for homecare and serves as basis for the implementation of instances of such system.

Nowadays, one of the major limits of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) is the set of low cost navigator sensors installed on them. They are vulnerable to vibration, high acceleration, high rotation and jerk. Furthermore, magnetometers drift significantly when located close to engines, to electromechanical devices or in areas with strong magnetic fields (for example grid power lines). This document describes an innovative approach using multi GNSS receivers for UAV's attitude determination.

Providing ubiquitous connectivity to the passengers of public transportation vehicles is an important goal of the communication system designers in the context of fast development of the intelligent transportation systems and of Future Internet communication technologies. Efficient usage of transmission resources available in the heterogeneous networking environment, characteristic to today's wireless networks, and effective routing over these networks with minimal involvement of the operator's core networks are some of the requirements for a fast and cost effective deployment. This paper proposes the architecture of an ubiquitous connectivity system for public transportation, the architecture design being considered on three distinct levels: system, functional and platform level. The proposed system architecture specifies a minimal set of entities required to implement envisaged connectivity solution and based on a functional analysis the subsystems and modules are derived. By mapping the functional architecture on the hardware components intended to be used the platform architecture is developed.

A novel efficient algorithm for the estimation of sparse channel impulse response (CIR) is addressed for OFDM systems. The innovation of this algorithm comes from the fact that it equivalently sees the CIR estimation problem as a decoding one. To do so, it exploits first the channel sparsity through the modelling of the sparse CIR as a Bernoulli-Gaussian process. Then, using the relationship between the Reed-Solomon codes and the OFDM modulator it efficiently estimates the sparse CIR using directly the decoding of the OFDM received signal. The obtained simulation results highlight that using the proposed algorithm gives good estimation performance in terms of mean squares error on the sparse CIR estimates.
