En la era digital, la educación enfrenta el reto de desarrollar pensamiento complejo y la inteligencia artificial. Este estudio analiza su relación con la transformación digital en estudiantes universitarios de Colombia, Panamá, Perú y Venezuela, mediante un enfoque cuantitativo. Se aplicaron el Cuestionario de Pensamiento Complejo de Morin, el Índice de Madurez Digital Educativa y la Escala de Alfabetización en Inteligencia Artificial. Se realizaron pruebas de hipótesis con correlación de Pearson y regresión lineal. Los resultados evidenciaron una correlación positiva entre pensamiento complejo y la IA (r = 0.62, p < 0.01), mediada por la transformación digital (? = 0.48, p < 0.01). Esto resalta la necesidad de fortalecer la transformación digital en la educación para mejorar el pensamiento complejo y la alfabetización en IA, contribuyendo a la preparación de los estudiantes para los desafíos tecnológicos actuales.

The article explores an urgent problem in modern professional education — the imbalance between the spheres of practical experience and academic education. Education is still focused on academic knowledge, whereas employers are interested in hiring employees capable of quality work immediately after the graduation. The integration of Armenia into the general European educational space makes the problem of education quality even more urgent. The labor market’s shifts, which require specialists to possess specific professional abilities rather than a wealth of information or experience in order to successfully and quickly adjust to a new work environment, worsen this process. This has changed the educational paradigm from a qualification-based model to a competency-based model imperative, which can only be achieved through the recalibration of educational programs to be more adaptive to changing the needs of the labor market. This process has been ongoing for a long time, but the mechanisms for developing and validating programs are still far from perfect and do not always provide for extensive discussion with employers. This article discusses the conceptual principles of recalibration of bachelor’s and master’s degree programs based on the Dublin descriptors and Tuning methodology.

Abstract Since the late nineteenth century, the “Indian” as symbol has been a recurring trope in the art music of Mexico and the United States. Composers in both countries have often turned to representations of Indigenous Peoples as symbolic of nature, spirituality, and/or aspects of the national Self. This article seeks to place James DeMars's opera Guadalupe, Our Lady of the Roses (2008) in the context of two major cultural trends: Indianism in the U.S., and the representation of Mexico by U.S. composers. DeMars's use of Indigenous instruments in Guadalupe, including Mexican pre-Hispanic percussion, and flutes performed by famed Navajo-Ute flutist R. Carlos Nakai, continues the Indianist tradition of associating the Indigenous cultures of both countries with nature, spirituality, and authenticity. Similar associations emerge in the development and reception of both “world music” and the Native American recording industry since the 1980s, as exemplified by Nakai's career. DeMars uses these instruments in combination with Plains Native American features and generic exoticisms to represent both the Mexican Indigenous Peoples and the spiritual message of the opera. The sympathetic treatment of Indigenous cultures in Guadalupe nevertheless exists in tension with their exoticism and Otherness; in this the work is representative of U.S. cultural responses to Mexico stretching back throughout the long twentieth century.

Data science methodologies can be utilized to ascertain and analyze clinical genetic data that is often unstructured and rarely used outside of patient encounters. Genetic variants from all genetic testing resulting to a large pediatric healthcare system for a 5-year period were obtained and reinterpreted utilizing the previously validated Franklin© Artificial Intelligence (AI). Using PowerBI©, the data were further matched to patients in the electronic healthcare record to associate with demographic data to generate a variant data table and mapped by ZIP codes. Three thousand and sixty-five variants were identified and 98% were matched to patients with geographic data. Franklin© changed the interpretation for 24% of variants. One hundred and fifty-six clinically actionable variant reinterpretations were made. A total of 739 Mendelian genetic disorders were identified with disorder prevalence estimation. Mapping of variants demonstrated hot-spots for pathogenic genetic variation such as PEX6-associated Zellweger Spectrum Disorder. Seven patients were identified with Bardet-Biedl syndrome and seven patients with Rett syndrome amenable to newly FDA-approved therapeutics. Utilizing readily available software we developed a database and Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) methodology enabling us to systematically reinterpret variants, estimate variant prevalence, identify conditions amenable to new treatments, and localize geographies enriched for pathogenic variants.

The word extreme events refer to unnatural or undesirable events. Due to the general destructive effects on society and scientific problems in various applied fields, the study of extreme events is an important subject for researchers. Many real-life phenomena exhibit clusters of extreme observations that cannot be adequately predicted and modeled by the traditional distributions. Therefore, we need new flexible probability distributions that are useful in modeling extreme-value data in various fields such as the financial sector, telecommunications, hydrology, engineering, and meteorology. In this piece of research work, a new flexible probability distribution is introduced, which is attained by joining together the flexible Weibull distribution with the weighted T-X strategy. The new model is named a new flexible Weibull extension distribution. The distributional properties of the new model are derived. Furthermore, some frequently implemented estimation approaches are considered to obtain the estimators of the new flexible Weibull extension model. Finally, we demonstrate the utility of the new flexible Weibull extension distribution by analyzing an extreme value data set.

Mengingat begitu banyak yang harus disiapkan dalam pelaksanaan ibadah haji dan umroh seperti persiapan fisik, mental, finansial, dan sosial maka perlu kajian yang cukup memadai untuk mendukung persiapan-persiapan tersebut, dan buku ini hanya fokus di persiapan peningkatan ketahanan fisik.

Learners underperform in stoichiometry as they lack conceptual reasoning of the underlying concepts and the ability to solve stoichiometric problems. Therefore, it was necessary to determine if there is a statistical correlation between problem-solving skills and conceptual reasoning in stoichiometry and if so, whether one can significantly predict the other. The theoretical framework is the cognitive load theory (CLT). This theory expects teachers to know where to focus their teaching and how to assess their learners’ work to avoid unnecessary overloading of the working memory, which might affect their performance. The explanatory sequential mixed-method research design was employed with 410 grade 11 Physical Science learners in their intact classes. The participants wrote the learner achievement test (LAT) and responded to a semi-structured interview. The learners’ test scores were then used to run a statistical test. The Pearson correlation and regression showed that the justifications given by learners for choosing correct or incorrect multiple-choice options were not due to chance, and the results of the learner interviews supported the learners’ performance in the test. Moreover, the findings indicated that there was a positive correlation between problem-solving skills and conceptual reasoning where statistically, conceptual reasoning predicted learners’ problem-solving skills using regression analysis. This paper examines the contemporary spread of populism across the globe. We argue that populist movements worldwide are responses to the colonization of lifeworlds by increasingly opaque knowledge and regulatory systems. The complexity of the systems that regulate and control the day-to-day life of individuals from afar makes these systems alien and incomprehensible, and consequently perceived as illogical and oppressive. To regain a sense of autonomy, actors have reasserted a way of thinking and acting contrary to the organic web of global interdependence, seeking independence from communities outside the known lifeworld via revitalized community control and an emphasis upon qualities resembling mechanical solidarity. We evidence this claim by comparing two contemporary phenomena which seem to be distinct events until interpreted in this way: movements against international humanitarian law and the French Gilets Jaunes. We conclude by discussing the implications for those interested in contemporary populist events in the USA and abroad and the role of scientists in communicating our findings.
