Cache- and network-agnostic Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP creates oscillation dynamics upon delivering mobile video content over cache- and slice-enabled data networks. In this paper, we bring to light the problem of user admission control, end-to-end slicing and video bitrate selection in next-generation 5G and Beyond 5G mobile data networks, where some minimum throughput guarantees can be provided for both the user-to-base-station and base-station-to-content-delivery-network links. Accordingly, we propose an exact algorithm to identify feasible bitrates and their minimum throughput requirements when the multi-access edge computing (MEC) cellular base stations has cached a known subset of video segments, potentially encoded at different resolutions, for a tagged video file. Simulation results provide valuable insights for user admission control, end-to-end slicing, video bitrate selection and caching in slice-enabled MEC-empowered cellular networks.

Computational inverse design techniques have shown potential to become reliable means for designing compact nanophotonic devices without compromising the performance. Much effort has been made to reduce the computation cost involved in the optimization process and obtain final designs that are robust to fabrication imperfections. In this work, we experimentally demonstrate TE0-TE1 and TE1-TE3 mode converters (MCs) on the silicon-on-insulator platform designed using the computationally efficient shape optimization method. These MCs have mode conversion efficiencies above 95%, and the insertion loss ranges from 0.3 dB to 1 dB over a wavelength span of 80 nm ranging from 1.5 µm to 1.58 µm. Maximum modal crosstalk found experimentally in the C-band is -19 dB. The conversion efficiency drops at most by 2.2% at 1.55 µm for 10 nm over/under etch, implying good robustness to dimensional variations. We present the mode conversion mechanism of these MCs by studying the simulated electromagnetic field patterns and validate with supportive data. We also demonstrate their performance in the time domain with a 28 Gbps OOK and a 20 GBaud PAM-4 payload transmissions, which supports their utility for high throughput data communications. The open eye diagrams exhibit Q-factors of 8 dB.

The paper examines the necessity and possibility of interface interaction of the information modeling program Revit Autodesk with the common office program MS Excel. Such interaction makes it easier to prepare project documentation in accordance with the requirements of Russian standards, GOST. An analysis of the capabilities of the built-in Revit tools for creating specifications and their design according to GOST requirements showed an insufficient level of automation of these processes. Ready-made foreign and Russian solutions in the field of Revit plugins that implement interaction with Excel have a number of disadvantages. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the capabilities of the application programming interface (API) for creating applications using the example of a developed software solution for automating the unloading of information from a BIM model into an Excel electronic document, in order to bring data presentation standards in line with GOST requirements. The application is developed using a tool environment: the C# programming language, the MS Visual Studio development environment, the WPF user interface creation tool, the Revit-side application programming interface .Net API, an interface for interacting with Excel ClosedXML files. As a result, the interface of the developed plugin is presented. The program allows you to export documents-statements and specifications - to Excel, designed according to the requirements of GOST. The user-friendly tab-based user interface, the compliance of the program design with the Revit system and the implemented functionality give the program advantages over its analogues. The application is available for free download to any Revit user, which is of practical importance.

The bifurcation and continuation methodology has evolved over the last two decades into a powerful tool for the analysis of trim and stability problems in aircraft flight dynamics. Over the years, bifurcation methods have been employed to deal with a variety of problems in aircraft dynamics, such as predicting high angle of attack behavior, especially spin, and studying instabilities in rolling maneuvers. The bifurcation methodology has served as a tool for the design of flight control systems, and is promising to be a useful tool in the aircraft design, simulation, testing, and evaluation process. In the present paper, we describe the state-of-theart in the use of bifurcation and continuation methods for the analysis of aircraft trim and stability with a few illustrative examples. Both the standard and extended bifurcation analysis procedures are discussed and typical results for instabilities in high-α flight and inertia-coupled roll maneuvers are shown. This is followed by several problems in nonlinear flight dynamics where bifurcation and continuation methods have been fruitfully applied to yield effective solutions. Finally, the use of bifurcation theory to arrive at analytical instability criteria is demonstrated for the aircraft roll coupling and wing rock problems. 78 references have been cited in the text.
