Putin’s Vassals
In Germany, some Russian-speaking circles support Russia’s war against Ukraine and repeat the Moscow’s propaganda. Russian front organizations in Germany and social networks are hubs for disseminating Russian narratives and mobilizing people to participate in public manifestations. Biker clubs and paramilitary groups offer Russia to recruit combatants for the war against Ukraine.

Effectiveness of Community-Based Rehabilitation Interventions on Symptoms and Functioning for People with Schizophrenia: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness that imposes huge burden of illness on the society. We aimed to conduct a meta-analytic and systematic review of literature on the effectiveness of community-based rehabilitation interventions on symptoms and functioning for people with schizophrenia. The PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and CINAHL databases were searched through April 16 and 17, 2021, including clinical trial registries and previous Cochrane reviews. We included 24 randomized controlled trials in this review. The content of interventions varied from single-faceted rehabilitation intervention or cognitive retraining, to multi-component rehabilitation interventions or case management. Among 20 studies that reported effects of community-based rehabilitation interventions on symptoms, the pooled SMDs across all interventions was 0.94 (95% CI = 0.11, 1.76; P < 0.001; I2 = 99.1%; n = 3694), representing a strong effect. 21 included studies showed that community-based rehabilitation interventions also had beneficial impacts on functioning (SMD = 1.65; 95% CI = 0.88, 2.43; P < 0.001; I2 = 98.9%; n = 3734). Overall quality of evidence was moderate with a high level of heterogeneity. Community-based rehabilitation interventions have positive effectiveness in improving patients' symptoms and functioning. Community-based rehabilitation interventions should therefore be provided as an adjuvant service in addition to facility-based care for people with schizophrenia.

Read moreA Net Zero Principles Framework : Fundamental Questions for Public Policy Analysis
The necessity of transitioning to net zero economies is widely recognised by the wider scientific (including social science) community, policymakers, business and the wider public. In response to advice from the Committee on Climate Change (CCC, 2019), the UK Government has set a target for a net zero carbon economy by 2050, with the Scottish Government having lined up with an earlier 2045 target (given Scotland’s resource base and capacity for more rapid decarbonisation). Meeting these commitments requires that different departments of the government can effectively work both with each other, and the wider industry, public and research communities, to determine how best to achieve this transition, securing opportunities for economic and societal gain while minimising any potential negative impacts. This raises a particular challenge in that the required research and knowledge base to support the net zero transition cuts across many disciplines and a diversity of expert and stakeholder communities, where multiple technical ‘languages’ are used, and different perspectives taken in setting and addressing questions. Thus, there is an urgent need to establish common frameworks and languages in setting and addressing the multitude of research requirements in an integrated and informative way. In this brief we consider what such a framework may look like if we take one of the key net zero challenges to be understanding the policy, political economy and societal consequences of any net zero action or ‘pathway’ to be. Here we present a ‘first draft’ of our ‘Net Zero Principles Framework’, with the aim of opening a dialogue across research, policy and industry communities to enable further co-creation.

Abstract The ideal of evidence‐based policy making (EBPM) may be hindered by delayed policy response to disclosed evidence. This article adopts Allison's three‐lens decision‐making framework to highlight technical, organizational, and political causes of delayed policy responses to apparent evidence. The study uses China's birth control policy as a case to examine the lag of policy adjustments. Although ample supply of evidence suggested earlier relaxation of China's one‐child policy, major adjustments only happened after 2013 and failed to achieve significant results. The study indicates that a politics‐informed EBPM approach may better position the role of evidence in policy processes by taking into consideration the unavoidable influences of institutions and politics.
