Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly being used across a broad spectrum of careers and institutions, with its adoption in the setting of higher education expected to exponentially increase in the coming years. As its relevance and use increases, the incorporation of AI must be done responsibly and ethically, upholding the laws and regulations under which educational institutions operate to protect student privacy and nondiscrimination rights. Ensuring responsible use requires collaboration among various institutional departments and educators. By fostering such relationships and understanding ethical considerations regarding the use of AI, higher education institutions can make use of the advantages of AI while protecting students' rights.

In this chapter, we examine the electrical properties of Si-LiNbO₃ heterostructures fabricated by RFMS and IBS methods without the ion assist effect. Through an analysis of current-voltage and capacitance-voltage characteristics, we propose an energy band diagram for the fabricated Si-LiNbO₃ heterostructures, detailing all main parameters. Regardless of the conductivity type of Si wafers, a positive oxide charge is formed, which limits the functionality of LiNbO₃-based heterostructures. The concentration of localized charge centers varies with the deposition method. The remnant polarization in the synthesized films is significantly lower than that in bulk lithium niobate, negatively impacting the application of the fabricated heterostructures in memory units. This reduction in polarization is likely due to the arbitrary orientation of grains. We investigate the charge transport mechanisms affecting DC conductivity of the studied heterostructures in detail, considering both temperature and applied voltage. Using impedance spectroscopy, we demonstrate that dielectric relaxation in LiNbO₃ films is influenced by the Maxwell-Wagner relaxation phenomenon.

Introduction: Hereditary hemophilia A is an X-linked recessive disorder diagnosed mostly in male children. Acquired hemophilia A (AHA) is a rare autoimmune disorder caused by autoantibodies against coagulation factor VIII. AHA carries an incidence of 1.48 cases per million persons per year. We report a case of acquired hemophilia A secondary to cecal adenocarcinoma which led to near fatal Gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding in an elderly woman. Case Description/Methods: Patient is a 79-year-old woman with no family history of bleeding disorders who presented with 3 days of profuse rectal bleeding, weakness, and fatigue. Bleeding consisted of massive amounts of melena and dark red blood mixed with clots. Hemoglobin was 9. Computed Tomography (CT) scan showed a 4.5 cm mass in the cecum actively bleeding. Patient underwent endovascular embolization to control the bleeding. Colonoscopy revealed an infiltrative circumferential mass in the cecum. Pathology reported invasive adenocarcinoma. The cancer was resected by a right colectomy, and patient was discharged home. She returned 10 days later for diffuse abdominal pain, bloating, and severe bleeding to the point of rupture of the staple line. Hgb was 7. Coagulation profile showed isolated Partial thromboplastin time (PTT) of 123 (normal 22-30) not corrected by mixing. CT scan showed heterogeneous air and fluid collection in the abdominal wall near the staple line. Patient continued to bleed profusely at the surgical site. A bleeding disorder was suspected. Factor VIII was extremely low at 1% (normal 56-140%). Patient was diagnosed with acquired hemophilia A due to cecal adenocarcinoma. She was treated with cyclophosphamide and prednisone, resulting in resolution of bleeding. PTT was normalized. Patient underwent an abdominal washout and was discharged in stable conditions. Discussion: In contrast to hereditary hemophilia, AHA has no genetic patterns. Malignancies predispose to the formation of autoantibodies which inhibit factor VIII. Patients typically develop extensive bleeding which can be life-threatening. Coagulation profile shows an isolated prolonged PTT not corrected by a mixing study. The quantitative assay of factor VIII is low. Treatment consists of hemostasis management and eradication of the inhibitor with high dose of prednisone (1 mg/kg/day) and cyclophosphamide (50 to 100 mg/day). If no responses, rituximab (anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody) may be considered. Clinicians should become familiar with the prompt recognition, diagnosis, and treatment of AHA as it carries significant risks for morbidity and mortality.

This chapter provides a contemporary overview of the main properties of bulk lithium niobate (LiNbO₃), highlighting the advantages of thin LiNbO₃ films and their various applications in integrated electronics and optoelectronics. The chapter discusses different deposition techniques, each with its specific advantages and disadvantages. The structural and electrical properties of thin LiNbO₃ films are significantly affected by the deposition regimes. Charge transport in LiNbO₃-based heterostructures is influenced by both contact and bulk electron phenomena. Additionally, this chapter addresses the major application-focused challenges in the synthesis of thin LiNbO₃ films.

A bonus chapter in this monograph presents well-structured results on the potential applications of synthesized LiNbO₃-based heterostructures as foundational elements for nonvolatile memory units. It proposes optimal RFMS conditions and subsequent thermal annealing (TA) for fabricating multifunctional Si-LiNbO₃ heterostructures. These heterostructures meet all the necessary parameters for successful application in field-effect transistors and nonvolatile memory units that utilize electro-optical properties.

Undergraduate nursing students are voicing high levels of test anxiety within their learning environments. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of a mindfulness intervention, using systematic desensitization, on community college nursing students' test anxiety. Data were collected and analyzed with a sample of 107 students randomly selected for a control and intervention group. The intervention group, which listened to a mindfulness podcast while using muscle relaxation, had significantly lower post-intervention test anxiety scores (p <. 001) than the control group. Systematic desensitization is a type of mindfulness that nursing students can use to decrease test anxiety.

A generalization of the sum of divisors function involves a recursive definition. This leads to variants of superabundant numbers, colossally abundant numbers, and Gronwall's theorem (relevant to the Riemann hypothesis).

In this paper we shall find a new connection between nth degree polynomial mod p congruence with n roots and higher order Fibonacci and Lucas sequences. We shall first discuss about the recent work been done in sequences and their connection to polynomial congruence and then find out new relations between particular recurrence relation and the congruence of the sequences

Relationships between the Farey sequence and the Riemann hypothesis other than the Franel-Landau theorem are discussed. Whether a function similar to Chebyshev’s second function is square-root close to a line having a slope different from 1 is discussed. The nontrivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function can be used to approximate many functions in analytic number theory. For example, it could be said that the nontrival zeta function zeros and the Möbius function generate in essence the same function - the Mertens function. A different approach is to start with a sequence that is analogous to the nontrivial zeros of the zeta function and follow the same procedure with both this sequence and the nontrivial zeros of the zeta function to generate in essence the same function. A procedure for generating such a function is given.
