While the under-representation of women intergroup dialogue initiatives has been widely noted, there remains to date a lack of research investigating the possible reasons for this and its potential implications for dialogue practice. In this article, we explore a dialogue project held from 2009 to 2013 in Melbourne, which sought to bring into contact diaspora communities from situations of conflict in the homeland. Our project saw a similar lack of female participation, with a number of women suggesting that the dialogues were ‘politicking’ and therefore ‘men's business’. Reflecting on possible reasons for this perception, we suggest that the ways in which dialogue as a multicultural strategy is manifestly intertwined with certain presumptions of community should be read as influencing both the perceived ‘politicisation’ of such projects as well as the lack of female participation. The combination of identities highly politicised by ethno-national conflict with largely bureaucratically defined conceptions of community, we continue, should also be seen as contributing to the already-existing marginalisation of women in community politics and affairs.

The real-time dynamics of solvation of 1-phenylpyrrole (PhPy) in acetonitrile (ACN) upon electronic excitation is investigated by means of non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations. The interaction is modeled by empirical intermolecular pair potentials using partial charges and intramolecular torsional potentials from high level ab initio calculations of ground and excited states of PhPy. The intramolecular torsional motion following sudden excitation from the twisted ground state to the 2 1B charge transfer state is strongly damped by the viscous ACN solvent, leading to a near-exponential approach of the perpendicular conformation on a timescale of about 5–10 ps. The intermolecular dynamics is characterized by rapid reorientation of the solvent molecules on a timescale of 100 fs followed by weak quasi-coherent librations. The solvatochromic red-shift of the charge transfer state with respect to the locally excited 1 1B state results in dual fluorescence, thus supporting the twisted intramolecular charge transfer (TICT) mechanism for PhPy in a polar solvent.

Mit GKS wurde es erstmals moglich, graphische Anwendungen zu entwickeln, die sowohl interaktiv als auch portabel sind. Das bedeutet jedoch nicht, das jede Anwendung auf jedem Graphikgerat sinnvolle Ergebnisse liefert. Im letzten Kapitel haben wir zwei GKS-Funktionen kennengelernt, mit denen wir uns explizit von einem GKS-Anbieter abhangig machen. Ziel dieses Kapitels ist es, die impliziten Grenzen der Portabilitat offenzulegen. Zuerst legen wir allerdings fest, welche Voraussetzungen fur eine Untersuchung der verschiedenen Abhangigkeiten erfullt sein mussen: Die Anwendung selbst ist rechnerunabhangig programmiert. Eine GKS-Implementierung mit passender Sprachanbindung und ausreichendem Level (siehe Kapitel 1) steht zur Verfugung. Die GKS-Implementierung selbst ist korrekt und erfullt die Anforderungen einer Zertifizierung (siehe Literaturverzeichnis [KIPF]).

Das graphische Kernsystem GKS ist ein internationaler Graphikstandard. Ausfuhrliche Betrachtungen uber die verschiedenen Graphikstandards finden sich in [GOB] oder [ENDE2]. Um GKS richtig einordnen zu konnen, unterscheiden wir bei den Graphikstandards folgende Kriterien: Typ: Standard fur graphische Funktionen oder Bilddateien. Dimension: 2-D oder 3-D Graphik. Status: offizieller ISO-Standard oder sogenannter Industrie-Standard Abstraktions-Niveau: Wie abstrakt oder geratenah ist der Standard? Erfolg: Gelangen Implementierungen uber ein Prototypen-Stadium hinaus?

ZusammenfassungAn dem Projekt DOMINIG II (Informationsverbund mehrerer Krankenhäuser) sind zehn Modellhäuser in Hessen beteiligt, die strukturell in etwa die Einrichtungen einer Krankenversorgungsregion (mit ca. 4.ooo stationären Patientenbetten und Krankenhäusern unterschiedlichen Spek-trums und verschiedener Trägerschaften)reprasentieren.
