The OUTSIDE START Cilostazol Bridge Study shows that the majority of patients who were required to discontinue dual antiplatelet therapy prior to surgery can be successfully bridged through surgery with cilostazol, with no major cardiac events in patients who are adequately bridged, provided that patients receive adequate cilostazol dosing and resume dual antiplatelet therapy within 24 to 48 hours postoperatively.

Abstract Facing the challenges of an industry undergoing reform, Holy Family Memorial, a health‐care network based in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, focused its improvement efforts on a series of small‐scale projects to address issues ranging from patient care and support to paperwork. By involving all stakeholders in decision making and shaping the organizational culture in the process, it has managed to adhere to the principles of its faith‐based mission while ensuring patient safety, enhancing customer service, facilitating organizational communications, and gaining a net marginal change exceeding $17 million over the last three years. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
