The purpose of this study is to explore how venture capital investment is sensitive to the macro-economic variables in emerging market economies like India.We examine the determinants of venture capital investment considering domestic factors such as GDP growth, in ‡ation rate, and stock market liquidity.From a global perspective, we have considered global liquidity as an in ‡uential factor.Based on quarterly data spanning between Q1, FY2007, and Q4 FY2017, the vector error correction method explores that global liquidity is a crucial factor along with the domestic macroeconomic variables.We believe that while the robust economic outlook is critical for attracting venture capital investment, global liquidity acts as a catalyst for the supply of such investment.

The monetary policy framework of India has undergone several transformations reflecting underlying macroeconomic and financial conditions as also the dominant socio‐politico‐economic paradigm. The present study makes pertinent commentary notes on different monetary policy approaches, including, for instance, the era of development planning, the era of monetarism, the era of multiple indicator approach, and the era of inflation targeting in India along with their respective advantages and disadvantages.

Background:Humanity has appreciated the importance and power of the human voice. Voice disorders like benign, malignant lesions of vocal cord affect the voice quality and also can have a devastating effect on daily functioning and quality of life. These lesions can be diagnosed and treated with microlaryngoscopy. Micro-laryngoscopy is a procedure for visualization of a magnified view of the voice box (larynx) with the help of a laryngoscope assisted with an operating microscope for precise laryngeal surgery. Speech parameters helps in voice quality assessment for vocal cord lesions.Method:We have studied 30 cases of benign vocal cord lesion by simple random sampling for two years which got operated with microlaryngoscopic conventional surgery. Their pre and post-operative assessment is done with respect to speech parameters like Maximum Phonation Time, Voice Handicap Index and GRBAS Score. Clinical history and rigid Hopkins 700 also helped in diagnosing of benign vocal cord lesions. Result: After conventional microlaryngeal surgery helps in improvement in MPT, VHI score, GRBAS Score post-operatively that of 3 months follow up. The effectiveness was seen more along with voice rest, corticosteroids and most important speech therapy.

The market structure, conducts and performance of the Indian banking sector have changed since the introduction of banking sector reforms. Slower economic growth, coupled with asset quality problems in recent years, has taken a toll on the overall health of the Indian banking sector. Higher statutory capital requirement under Basel III has posed another major challenge to the Indian banks. The purpose of the study is to examine the impact of structural changes and conduct of Indian commercial banks on their profitability in the paradigm of structure–conduct–performance (SCP) framework. Market concentration, bank-specific/macroeconomic variables have been considered as important determinants of the profitability. The regression results find a negative relationship between profitability and market concentration and reject SCP hypotheses. The study found that capitalization, credit risk, leverage and ownership structure are the most important determinants of the profitability of Indian banks. The study also found that financial crisis had no significant impact on the profitability of Indian banks. JEL Classification: C4, G21, G28, L19

Emerging countries offer many opportunities to the food marketers of the world. With changes taking place in demographics and socio-cultural vales, the present study aimed at analysing the consumer attitude towards ready-to-eat meals, and exploring the factors influencing the purchase of ready-to-eat meals among the consumers. Based on a consumer (n = 210) survey from three large cities of India, the data were collected through a structured questionnaire. Statistical tools like ANOVA, principal component method and logistic regression were applied for data analysis. Consumers perceive quality, adulterants, nutrition, trans fats, and artificial colour and flavour, availability, preservatives, convenience, brand image, and price as important parameters as important parameters. The principal component method highlighted six factors as nutrition and quality, convenience, price discount, variety and taste, creativity and enjoyment, and content information influencing the purchase of ready-to-eat meals. Nutrition and quality, price discount, and creativity and enjoyment are likely to influence the willingness of consumers to increase the consumption of ready-to-eat meals. The study offers strategies for the marketers of ready-to-eat food products.
