Cyclone Gabrielle and the 2023 Auckland Anniversary Weekend floods that occurred in Aotearoa New Zealand demonstrated an urgent need for targeted strategies for building urban flood resilience. In a pilot study conducted between 2024-2025, we employed an anonymous cross-sectional survey and network analysis, to investigate the interrelationships between the perceptions of flood risk and urban neighbourhood flood resilience for selected residential suburbs in the city of Auckland, New Zealand. This study revealed that many associations monotonically connected perceived flood risk and perceived urban neighbourhood flood resilience, specifically, perception of safety from flooding, trust in local authorities, rainfall worry, distance from flooding source, perceived sufficiency in emergency response, and provision of assistance during flooding. Our study offers novel insights by linking urban residents’ perceived flood risk and perceived resilience, considering cognitive, behavioural, sociocultural or contextual, and geographic mediators using quantitative and qualitative analyses. Informed by these findings, we characterised a Flood Resilience Perception cluster, to inform future policymaking and implementation that is closely aligned with urban resident needs and expectations. This study is part of an ongoing project where we are investigating the transition from perception to action within the Auckland regional context prior to expansion on a national scale.

This study examines how the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and emotional intelligence (EI) is reshaping leadership practice and organisational culture, identifying both the opportunities and risks that arise from their convergence. Using a structured literature review guided by the PRISMA 2020 framework, 49 peer reviewed studies published between 2015 and 2025 were systematically analysed to synthesise theoretical and empirical insights on AI EI interactions in workplace settings. The review highlights that AI can enhance decision-making, enable data driven empathy, and support employee well being, while EI is essential for ethical stewardship, trust-building, and mitigating risks such as algorithmic bias and automation over reliance. The findings further show that emotionally intelligent leadership is a critical mediating factor influencing whether AI fosters psychological safety, innovation, and humane organisational cultures or contributes to surveillance and cultural homogenisation. AI and EI function as complementary capabilities whose responsible integration requires human centred, ethically grounded leadership. The study proposes a framework to guide organisations in adopting AI in ways that augment, rather than replace, emotionally intelligent leadership, offering actionable guidance for decision-making, governance, and employee development.

This study synthesizes empirical evidence on how workplace artificial intelligence (AI)—ranging from collaborative robots to algorithmic management—restructures organizational culture, identity, and power dynamics. A PRISMA-guided systematic review and meta-analysis of seven databases and grey literature identified 88 empirical studies conducted between 2015 and 2025. The evidence was integrated through thematic synthesis complemented by a descriptive quantitative summary. The findings converge on five key themes: AI simultaneously threatens and enables work identities; it reconfigures social dynamics by fostering collaboration while also introducing strain; it shifts power toward data-driven control and surveillance; it accelerates human–AI augmentation and job redesign; and it produces uneven cultural adaptation characterized by fear, resistance, and fragile trust. Outcomes are consistently moderated by factors such as leadership quality, organizational support, participatory implementation, and system transparency. The evidence indicates that AI is not culturally neutral; its cultural consequences depend heavily on governance and implementation choices. Practically, organizations should implement transparent communication strategies, involve workers in co-design processes, establish robust ethical and privacy safeguards, and promote targeted upskilling and AI literacy. These measures aim to translate efficiency gains into cultural value while safeguarding autonomy and well-being. Such approaches foster trust and support sustainable performance and cultural resilience in AI-enabled workplaces.

This systematic literature review examines the role of artificial intelligence in education across three critical dimensions: personalised learning systems, administrative automation, and ethical integration frameworks. The study aims to synthesize current research evidence and identify key trends, challenges, and opportunities in AI-enhanced educational environments. A systematic literature review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines, searching Web of Science, Scopus, IEEE Xplore, ACM Digital Library, and ERIC databases. The review analyzed 148 peer-reviewed studies published between 2020-2025, employing thematic analysis and quality assessment procedures to synthesize findings across the three research domains. AI-enabled personalised learning systems demonstrate significant effectiveness with 62% improvement in student test results and 30% enhancement in overall performance. Administrative automation reduces workload by 40% while improving accuracy. However, ethical challenges including algorithmic bias, privacy concerns, and the need for human-centered design remain critical implementation barriers. Findings inform educational policymakers, institutional administrators, curriculum designers, and technology developers implementing AI systems. The research provides evidence-based guidance for K-12 schools, higher education institutions, corporate training programs, and educational technology companies developing AI-enhanced learning solutions. This review uniquely integrates personalised learning, automation, and ethical considerations within a comprehensive framework, providing the first systematic synthesis of post-2020 AI education research. The study advances knowledge by identifying convergent themes and establishing evidence-based recommendations for responsible AI implementation in educational contexts.

The article examined that soaking cotton seeds before sowing in solutions of various coordination compounds of microelements accelerates their germination energy and germination. The authors found that treating seeds with coordination compounds of microelements activates the energy of their germination and accelerates the germination of cotton seeds. Soaking seeds with microelements in optimal concentrations significantly activates the processes of hydrolysis of seed protein, changing the qualitative and quantitative composition of free amino acids. Treatment of seeds before sowing and fertilizing at the beginning of budding with coordination compounds of microelements accelerates the growth of the main stem

In this post-COVID era, consumer presence is felt more than ever, especially in the corporate world. Consumers should embrace the more positive and distinctive identity of a company that engages in corporate social responsibility, which bound companies to focus more on their moral, ethical, and social obligations beyond their economic interests. Consumers are more likely to act favorably toward a company that has acted to benefit its customers as opposed to just delivering quality products. Recent research finds that CSR can reduce anger and negative word-of-mouth following service failures and increase behavioral loyalty along with a favorable attitude and intrinsic motivation to facilitate the brand. These findings suggest the role of company involvement (donating funds, providing/developing corporate capabilities), and their precise structure, such as cause-related marketing, corporate social marketing, corporate philanthropy, and socially responsible business practices, are required. In this chapter, we will try to understand the impact of CSR on consumer behavior. Also explore the science of consumerism by exploring the key areas of consumer psychology and its relationship with the perceived corporate value, trust, and commitment, which, in turn, results in an increase in satisfaction, loyalty, and consumer well-being.

Valentia Slate from the southwest of Ireland, is herein proposed as a Global Heritage Stone Resource. This Middle Devonian (Givetian) purple to pale green-coloured, fine-grained siltstone comprises the Valentia Slate Formation, part of the Old Red Sandstone which extensively crops out in southern Ireland. The unit, which developed as an alluvial fan, has a thickness of over 3000m and shows a well developed cleavage and low metamorphic grade imposed during the Variscan which produced its slaty fabric. Although quarried from small surface openings from the late eighteenth century, the commercial value of certain horizons of the Valentia Slate Formation was first recognised by the local landowner The Knight of Kerry who commenced its extraction at Dohilla in 1816 for use as roofing slates. The operation was expanded from the 1820s by the Hibernian Mining Company and later by the Valentia Slab Company and its successor, the Valentia Slate Company, which continued to quarry the stone until the late 1870s. Initally stone was extracted from surface workings but since 1840 it has been exclusively obtained from underground workings. From the 1880s the quarry went into decline due to competition from Wales and extraction ceased altogether in 1911 following a large rockfall at the opening to the quarry. It was revived in the 1980s and recent investment has resulted in being able to provide this quality stone to widespread markets. Although not easily split into thin slates Valentia Slate was first used locally for roofing and general building. However, as it could be cut into slabs of a variety of thicknesses and lenghts of up to 3m it was more readily adopted, both nationally and internationally, for use in buildings for window cills, steps, domestic fittings in bathrooms and kitchens, and paving both externally and internally as in the Houses of Parliament in London, the Paris Opera House, and for flagging in a number of British railway termini. The stone was susceptible to and held sharp carving, and it it was also fabricated into headstones, memorials, garden furniture, and shelving. Stone was even exported in the 1870s to Brazil for use as railway sleepers. Craftsmen also fabricated lamps and birdhouses from the material and its most celebrated use was for billiard and snooker tables, a number of which were highly decorative having been enamelled. During the height of production over 500 men were employed quarrying and working Valentia Slate. The first tramway in an Irish quarry was installed in about 1816 and was used to transport stone and sawn slabs from the quarry to Knightstown, some 4km away, where it was further fabricated if required in a dedicated stoneyard prior to exportation from the adjacent slate quay. Today extraction continues and the stone is used for a variety of restoration, decorative and construction purposes. The longevity of its extraction, its versatility of use, and the extent of the exportation of the Valentia Slate makes it worthy to be proposed as a Global Heritage Stone Resource.
