Why Is This Important? This study validates quantitative percussion diagnostics for detecting microgap defects at early stages in the periodontium.Combining clinical data and finite element analysis simulations, results show that quantitative percussion diagnostics objectively identify periodontal ligament damage before radiographic evidence.

This mixed-methods study explored teachers’ perceptions of their districts’ “return-to-learning” plans, the policies and instructional models used to resume schooling during the 2020 to 2021 academic year following pandemic closures. Using the Job Demands–Resources model, we examined how these plans related to teacher burnout and perceptions of administrative support. The sample included 407 K-12 teachers from 33 U.S. states who completed an electronic survey with validated measures and short-answer questions. Quantitative results indicated that teachers who viewed their district’s return-to-learning plan as unsuccessful reported significantly higher burnout and lower administrative support than teachers who viewed their plan as successful. Qualitative analyses revealed that teachers dissatisfied with their district’s plan described increased workload, lack of administrative support, and difficulties implementing COVID-19 safety and instructional policies. Teachers who viewed their district’s plan as effective emphasized clear communication, administrative flexibility, and respect for teacher input. These findings underscore the importance of administrative support, transparency, and workload management in mitigating burnout during periods of educational disruption.

Evolysse Form (EVLF) and Evolysse Smooth (EVLS) (Symatese, Chaponost, France) are new hyaluronic acid fillers created using an innovative cold-crosslinking process. The authors of this study aim to collect safety and effectiveness data on new cold-crosslinked fillers to support the US approval for the correction of moderate-to-severe dynamic facial wrinkles and folds. In this randomized, controlled, split-face study, 140 patients with moderate-to-severe nasolabial folds (NLFs) received a cold-crosslinked filler in 1 NLF (EVLF = 70, EVLS = 70) and a traditionally crosslinked filler, Restylane-L (RESL), in the contralateral fold and were followed through 12 months with an optional retreatment at that time point and subsequent 3 months of safety follow-up. The primary endpoint of mean Wrinkle Severity Rating Scale change from baseline to Month 6 as rated by the photographic review panel demonstrated noninferiority and statistical superiority for the cold-crosslinked fillers. Blinded evaluator Wrinkle Severity Rating Scale assessments showed a mean change from baseline that was statistically significantly better than RESL for EVLF at all visits through 12 months and for EVLS at 6 and 9 months. Most patients were responders on the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale throughout the study, according to ratings by blinded evaluators, treating investigators, and patients. The FACE-Q appraisal of NLFs' overall mean score showed significant improvement from baseline (P < .0001) at all time points through Month 12 for all treatment groups. All treatments were well tolerated. The new cold-crosslinked fillers were shown to be safe and effective for correction of NLFs, with results lasting for 1 year.

The term occasion setter has been used in behavioral research to describe a procedure, a phenomenon, and an associative explanatory mechanism, referring to hierarchical stimulus representations where one stimulus modulates another's relationship with an outcome.Leising et al. highlight the conditions and behavioral effects of occasion setting while applying four key tests to explore underlying associative mechanisms. However, researchers unfamiliar with associative learning may be inadvertently confused about the appropriate use of the term.Addressing this issue, this commentary underscores the need for clarity in defining what studying occasion setting means within specific research contexts.Explicitly distinguishing between its procedural, phenomenological, and mechanistic applications will help ensure consistent interpretation and communication across studies, fostering a more precise understanding of occasion setting in behavioral science.

Abstract We examine experimentally the extent to which three potential tax authority interventions encourage the reporting of tax fraud to tax authorities and how two types of guilt feelings are involved in this decision. Using a sample of 728 adult taxpayers in the United States, we find that a cash award, a prosocial award and a moral suasion message positively influence whistleblowing intentions and that the moral suasion effect is mediated by intrapsychic guilt (when an individual violates their moral values) and interpersonal guilt (when one's actions cause harm to another). The combination of a cash award and moral suasion message results in the greatest likelihood of tax whistleblowing. Our research contributes to the tax whistleblowing literature by providing evidence of the efficacy of potential interventions and also extends literature on the role of moral emotions by showing the relevance of intrapsychic and interpersonal guilt to the tax fraud reporting decision.

This study aimed to investigate the dynamics of Luxury Tourism in the Northern Areas of Pakistan. The selected tourist destinations were PC Bhurban, Luxus Hunza, and PC Malam Jabba. A questionnaire adapted from the previous studies was administered to the on-site tourists to reveal their perceptions, preferences, and behaviours concerning luxury tourism experiences. A sample size of 375 tourists was drawn via simple random sampling. Each participant was asked to complete a 25-item questionnaire. The researcher used SMART PLS 4.0 software to analyse the data using SEM with Partial Least Squares analysis. This research was conducted to find the relationship between self-congruity, destination brand quality, brand identification and factors associated with tourist satisfaction, and willingness to pay a premium price. By considering elements of previous studies and using sophisticated statistical tools, the current research contributed to the improvement of marketing policies and destination management policies of luxury tourism in Pakistan.

To evaluate the equivalence of immunogenicity, safety and efficacy of Gan & Lee (GL) Glargine (Basalin®; Gan & Lee Pharmaceutical) with that of the reference product (Lantus®) in adult participants with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This was a phase 3, multicenter, open-label, equivalence trial conducted across 57 sites. In total, 567 participants with type 2 diabetes mellitus were randomized in a 1:1 ratio to undergo treatment with either GL Glargine or Lantus® for 26 weeks. The primary endpoint was the proportion of participants in each treatment arm who manifested treatment-induced anti-insulin antibodies (AIA). Secondary endpoints included efficacy and safety metrics, changes in glycated haemoglobin levels, and a comparative assessment of adverse events. Results were analysed using an equivalence test comparing the limits of the 90% confidence interval (CI) for treatment-induced AIA development to the prespecified margins. The percentages of participants positive for treatment-induced glycated haemoglobin by week 26 were similar between the GL Glargine (19.2%) and Lantus® (21.3%) treatment groups, with a treatment difference of -2.1 percentage points and a 90% CI (-7.6%, 3.5%) (predefined similarity margins: -10.7%, 10.7%). The difference in glycated haemoglobin was -0.08% (90% CI, -0.23, 0.06). The overall percentage of participants with any treatment-emergent adverse events was similar between the GL Glargine (80.1%) and Lantus® (81.6%) treatment groups. GL Glargine was similar to Lantus® in terms of immunogenicity, efficacy, and safety, based on the current study.

Abstract The asymmetric information management (AIM) technique enhances verbal lie‐detection by encouraging truth tellers (but not liars) to be forthcoming with information. We examined the AIM technique's utility for correctly distinguishing genuine and fabricated statements reported during a virtual interview. Truth tellers (n = 85) honestly reported their recollection of a 30‐minute walk. Liars pretended to have engaged in a similar activity (n = 86). Participants were randomly assigned to either the AIM or Control condition and provided either a verbal or written statement. Truth tellers in the AIM condition reported more detailed statements (vs. the Control condition). Liars in the AIM condition reported less detailed statements (vs. the Control condition). More genuine and fabricated statements were correctly classified in the AIM condition (72% accuracy) compared to the Control condition (59% accuracy). No differences between disclosure type emerged. Results support the use of the AIM technique for facilitating verbal lie‐detection.

ABSTRACTOperations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM) courses may cover supply chain strategies, supply chain classification, and supply chain performance. Familiarity with various manufacturing and logistics firms would help students to better understand such topics. Information on the Dow Jones Industrial Average indexed firms and top 50 supply chain firms by Gartner is easily accessible and typically covers a variety of industries from chemical, food/beverage, high‐tech to retail, to name a few. Instructors of OSCM courses can take advantage of this kind of information to discuss industry characteristics and supply chain classification. We present how to collect financial data, calculate supply chain metrics (e.g., inventory turns, profit margin, and cash‐to‐cash cycle) by building a spreadsheet model and creating an earns‐turns matrix, which prescribes supply chain classification. We also show how to analyze supply chain performance and describe industry characteristics based on the earns‐turns matrix. We provide vital questions and takeaways for instructors to lead and wrap‐up discussions. Students claim that they appreciated learning about industry characteristics and different supply chain strategies through the earns‐turns matrix analysis.
