Massive multiple-input multiple-output (maMIMO) networks have gained significant attention in recent years with their capability to enable efficient communication through offering base stations (BS) access to an enormous number of antennas to serve multiple user equipment (UE) at a time. One of the key challenges in maMIMO networks is optimal power allocation among UEs keeping the total power constraint at the BS intact. Despite the fact that deep learning-based techniques offer rapid power allocation, they are vulnerable to adversarial attacks on input data, leading to incorrect resource allocation. To address the above problems, this current study proposes a model named Resilient Power Allocation against Universal Attacks in Massive MIMO using Multi-Stream and Component-Aware Graph Networks (PADOM-AKGNTO). To start with, input data in terms of user equipment (UE) positions along with their corresponding optimal power allocations is collected and pre-processed via an Adaptive Fast Desensitized Kalman Filter (AFDKF) for the purpose of filtering noise and uncertainty reduction. For predicting optimal power allocation, a Multi-Stream Fusion Spatiotemporal Graph Convolutional Network (MSF-STGCN) is used to determine spatial and temporal relations among UEs in a dynamic scenario. For providing robust defense against adversarial attacks capable of manipulating UE position data, a Multi-Component Attention Graph Convolutional Neural Network (MCAGCN) is utilized as a resilient detection and mitigation module. A Termite Life Cycle Optimizer (TLCO) is also utilized to optimize weights and parameters of the models MSF-STGCN and MCAGCN for the purpose of improving accuracy and reducing convergence speed. The tested and validated PADOM- AKGNTO model employs different performance metrics and attains a prediction accuracy of 99.99%, defense success rate of 98.50%, and lowers the attack success rate significantly to 5.00%. The outcomes confirm that the suggested method facilitates efficient, accurate, and stable power distribution in hostile environments, thereby ensuring secure and reliable communication in maMIMO systems.

The authors’ review scholarly works in leadership studies and other fields and apply concepts and literature related to Heiman and Timms’ seminal work, New Power (2018), in order to understand the evolving area (as described by Heimans and Timms) of “new power communities.” New power communities can be found in medical and health professions organizations today. Moreover, the importance of social media, crowdsourcing, and the impact of broad-based mass movements in democratic polities, along with the use of new technologies, has caused a reorientation of human networking and interaction. The article discusses the following literature: Naím’s The End of Power (2013), Jefferson, et al.’s “New Power through the Lenses of Leadership Studies, Psychology, and Politics” (2016), Shultz’s Learning from Experience (2016), and Slaughter’s The Chessboard & the Web (2017). Each of these works can inform our analysis of “new power,” community, leadership, and other concepts that helps us analyze and contextualize Heimans and Timms’ New Power in ways that allow us to not only understand the concept of “new power” better, but also understand how leadership, community, and power impact medicine and the health professions. Methodologically, this review study employs a qualitative systematic review approach (see Anh and Kang, 2018). In attempting to understand better the concepts of “new power” and “new power communities,” the authors provide an empirical analysis of new power communities in digital spaces emerging in various contexts including medicine and health professions.

This study uses critical race theory as a lens and narrative inquiry as a methodological tool to examine how the term native English speaker (NES) is socially constructed when subscribed to two Black teachers of English (BTE) working in South Korea’s secondary educational system. In addition to examining how these two BTEs interpret themselves as NESs, this study analyzes how being a NES influences pedagogical approaches in the classroom and their identity as an English language teaching (ELT) professional. Data from this study are taken from a larger research project comprising five participants’ ELT experiences as a NES in South Korea. Data collection consists of a questionnaire survey and Skype interviews as a means of reporting how these teachers construct their identities. Research shows participants navigating constructs of privilege and marginalization as a NES and ELT professional. Participants reported being cultural ambassadors of not only the English language but also their racial and ethnic background as Black Americans. Participants, also, attributed their identities as a NES and ELT professional to their ability to connect with the students, establish rapport, exchange cultural knowledge, and overall engage and educate students about cultures comprising the English language.

Drought is a significant natural hazard that slowly evolves over time. Because of its character, drought is difficult to monitor and impacts are often poorly documented. Agriculture is one of the most sensitive sectors that are prone to drought. The objective of this research is to assess the impacts of drought on soybean production and revenue in Kentucky. Soybeans are one of Kentucky's most important commodities. In this study, impacts of 1930-1931, 1940-1942, 1952-1955, 1987-1988, 1999-2000, and 2007 droughts were considered. It was found that over the recent years, up to 56 % of the revenue from soybeans was lost due to drought. During the first half of the twentieth century, revenue loss reached up to 77 %. This research is valuable to the general public as well as planners and policy makers. Proper documentation of impacts of past droughts will help identify drought vulnerabilities and results in better risk management and mitigation.

Abstract In developing countries, esophageal cancer is the third most common cancer in men. We have employed a mouse model of esophageal cancer using DNA repair deficient mice. Unlike their wild type counterparts, C57BL/6J mice lacking Xpa and heterozygous for p53 [Xpa(−/−) p53(+/−)] have previously been shown to develop forestomach and esophageal tumors when fed BP (Hoogervorst et al., Carcinogenesis, 2003). Two methodologies were employed to examine BP-induced steady-state levels of DNA damage in esophagi of male mice fed 0 or 100 ppm BP for 4 weeks. HPLC, in conjunction with tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS), was used to measure 10-(deoxyguanosin-N2-yl)-7,8,9-trihydroxy-7,8,9,10-tetrahydro-benzo[a]pyrene (BPdG) and a chemiluminiscence immunoassay (CIA), using antiserum elicited against r7,t8-dihydroxy-t-9,10-oxy-7,8,9,10-tetrahydrobenzo[a]pyrene (BPDE)-modified DNA was used to evaluate BP-DNA adducts. In the esophagi of Xpa(−/−) p53(+/−) mice, there were 38.7 ± 4.8 BPdG adducts/108 nucleotides (mean ± SE, n=5), as measured by HPLC-MS/MS, while in the wild type mice there were 28.0 ± 1.8 BPdG adducts/108 nucleotides (mean ± SE, n=5). Furthermore, complete loss of p53 resulted in the greatest accumulation of BPdG adducts, with 58.1 ± 8.6 BPdG adducts/108 nucleotides (n=5) in Xpa(−/−) p53(−/−) mice (p<0.05 vs. wild type mice). Esophageal BP-DNA adduct values, as measured by CIA, were 23.3 ± 1.7 adducts/108 nucleotides (n=3) in the Xpa(−/−) p53(+/−) mice, compared to 14.6 ± 3.0 adducts/108 nucleotides (n=3) in the wild type mice. Since similar adduct levels were determined using both HPLC-MS/MS and CIA, this indicates that BPdG is the major adduct resulting from BP in mouse esophagus. The higher levels of DNA damage in DNA repair-deficient p53-deficient mice, compared to their wild type counterparts, may contribute to the enhanced susceptibility of these mice to esophageal tumor induction by BP. Currently we are examining the role of chlorophyllin, a chemopreventive agent, in reducing BP-induced DNA damage levels and tumor formation in this model. Great opportunities arise for teaching physics, astronomy, and their histories when new discoveries are made that involve concepts accessible to students at every level. Such an opportunity currently exists thanks to the fact that notes written by Galileo indicating that he observed the double star Mizar in the "Big Dipper" have recently come to light. His measurements of this star, given the scientific knowledge at the time, strongly supported the theory that the Earth was fixed in space and not moving. Had Galileo published these results, it is likely that widespread acceptance of the heliocentric theory in scientific circles would have been significantly delayed. In light of these notes, his later reference in his Dialogue to using double stars as a means of proving that the Earth was in motion is puzzling. The physics and mathematics behind Galileo's work is easily within reach of students in introductory physics and astronomy courses, so discussion of Galileo's Mizar work and its interesting implications can be used in virtually any class.

With the increasing amount of violence prevalent in our society, it is inevitable that this violence will enter emergency departments. Nurses are increasingly likely to see guns and other deadly weapons in the emergency department. The purpose of this article is to explain how a firearm works and how to safely handle and store the weapon until someone with more training can take possession of the weapon.
