Machine-Learning-Enhanced Bayesian Detection for α-Stable Noise Channels in 5G/6G DS-CDMA Networks
Impulsive, non-Gaussian interference in urban 5G/6G wireless scenarios invalidates Gaussian-noise-based assumptions of conventional detectors. This work proposes the use of the Machine Learning-Enhanced Bayesian Detector for DS-CDMA systems over α-stable noise channels. The framework merges probabilistic Bayesian inference with a recurrent neural-network estimator that continuously learns α-stable parameters α, β, γ, and δ from the received data. Closed-form derivations of the detection and false alarm probabilities are obtained using characteristic-function-based likelihood ratios, whereas the proposed approach is corroborated via MATLAB simulations. The results demonstrate that ML-BD provides a 3-dB SINR gain, ≈ 45% BER reduction, and ≈ 15% increase in the detection probability compared to classical Bayesian and energy detectors. This work demonstrates that the marriage of adaptive learning with Bayesian reasoning results in a robust, interpretable, and computationally efficient detector for interference-limited 5G/6G metropolitan networks.
Read moreModerating Effect of Collaboration in the Relationship Between Training and Teachers Engagement in the Secondary Schools of Nepal
This study explores the critical role of teacher engagement in enhancing teaching performance and student academic achievement in secondary schools in Kathmandu, Nepal. Recognizing that engaged teachers are motivated and dedicated, this research examines the moderating effect of teamwork on teachers’ engagement following professional training. Data were collected from a sample of 320 teachers from both public and private schools and analyzed using descriptive statistics in SPSS and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) in AMOS. Findings reveal a significant positive relationship between teacher training and professional development, confirming that training directly influences teacher engagement. However, teamwork as a moderating factor did not show a significant catalytic effect on enhancing engagement post-training. This study contributes to the literature by identifying potential gaps in the translation of training into engagement through teamwork, offering new insights into the challenges of fostering collaborative practices that support teacher development in the Nepalese educational context.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, 'First People(s)' (also written uncapitalized) is a chiefly Canadian term: '(Usually in plural) Indigenous peoples in Canada, considered collectively; First Nations, Inuit, and M etis peoples; (also more generally) the Indigenous peoples of any country or region'.The OED further dates the earliest known use of the noun to the title of a 1973 book, The first peoples in Quebec; a reference work on the history, environment, economic and legal position of the Indians and Inuit of Quebec, by Toby Ornstein. 1 I have found no scholarly accounts which adduce an earlier usage. However, some fifteen years earlier than Ornstein's book, Laurens van der Post can be seen using the term in whatas I will demonstrate-is an identical sense. This absence of a reference to Van der Post is particularly puzzling considering his two key texts which I discuss are frequently cited in other entries. 2 Van der Post was an Afrikaner South African who established himself as a leading public intellectual and prolific author in the UK during the second half of the 20th century. His public and more learned-literary career converged on the topic of the Bushman, 3 the collective name for a number

Abstract This book examines the societal impact of the London private bankers between 1660 and 1825. Economic historians have clarified their commercial development, but their distinctive role as retail bankers offers insight into an array of dynamic social forces in eighteenth-century Britain, especially the relationship between the middling and upper orders. Using a sample of some 300 partners, this study examines the development of London private banking from its uncertain late Stuart origins to its established place on the late Georgian high street. Their experiences illuminate the solidity and adaptability of the social order, and their importance will be tracked through their commercial services, public lives, and private pleasures. Their advancement renders them a remarkable social phenomenon, whose influence ranked alongside the metropolitan merchants and the early industrialists. The increasing durability of their banking-houses has left a rich archive of both their work and their leisure activities, highlighting their concurrent quest for reputation within the worlds of business and society. However, they still offered little challenge to the ruling landed orders, finding common cause with their social betters during the turbulence of the Revolutionary era. The great financial crash of 1825 had a disastrous impact on the sector, heralding the rise of the joint-stock bank, but their culture of personal banking endured as a legacy of their Georgian achievement.
