The impact of microdosed plyometric training on speed and explosive abilities of football players during the pre-season
Microdosed training distributes a given training stimulus into shorter, more frequent sessions. This study investigated whether a microdosed plyometric program produces similar adaptations to a traditional plyometric program when the total number of plyometric contacts is closely matched in elite youth football players. In this quasi-experimental, two-group study, twenty-four elite U19 players were allocated to a traditional training group (TRG, n = 12, 2 sessions·week⁻¹, ~ 40 min·session⁻¹) or a microdosed group (MDG, n = 12, 3–4 sessions·week⁻¹, ~ 20 min·session⁻¹). Allocation was nonrandomized and matched on countermovement jump (CMJ) height and modified reactive strength index (RSI mod) from a drop jump (DJ), with standing broad jump (SBJ) used as a tiebreaker. Total plyometric contact volume was closely matched over an 8-week intervention. Primary outcomes were 30 m sprint mechanical outputs (1080 Sprint: peak speed, peak force, peak power), DJ RSI mod, and CMJ metrics. Secondary outcomes were the 15–0–5 change of direction (CoD) test outputs (time, acceleration, and deceleration), and SBJ. Within-group pre–post changes were tested using paired t-tests and between-group comparisons using independent t-tests on change scores (α = 0.05). Nonparametric tests were conducted as sensitivity analyses. Effect sizes are reported as absolute Hedges’ g (|g|). Primary outcomes improved in both groups: DJ RSI mod increased by 14.3% (TRG) and 12.5% (MDG), CMJ height by 4.5% and 9.6%, and 30 m sprint peak speed by 2.3% and 2.5% (within-group |g| = 0.02–1.09). Secondary outcomes were mixed across SBJ and 15–0–5 metrics (within-group |g| = 0.00–1.17). Between-group comparisons of change scores showed no evidence of differences (all p > 0.05). With closely matched total plyometric contacts, analyses showed no evidence that short-term adaptations differed between microdosed scheduling and a two-session format in U19 players. Microdosing may allow the same weekly dose to be delivered in shorter, more frequent sessions when scheduling is constrained. ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT07193706). Read moreIs Kano's Model Outdated or Still Essential for Understanding Customer Needs in an Era of Unlimited Choice?
A vast supply of products and services can confuse customers, masking their needs and complicating efforts to satisfy them. Kano’s model suggests that customers lack clear awareness of their requirements. This study, based on a novel explanation of the interlinearity of quality attributes and its disruption, explores the applicability of Kano's model in measuring today’s customer satisfaction. It examines the impact of digitisation on guest satisfaction. Analysing 310 hotel guests in Slovakia during the winter season of 2023/2024, the study identifies quality attributes revealing insights into how selected dimensions affect satisfaction. A two-step cluster analysis reveals four distinct customer segments with unique expectations, highlighting the need for tailored services. Findings indicate that while digital technologies help address staff shortages, they do not enhance guest satisfaction rather, the opposite. The study offers recommendations for hoteliers seeking to improve service quality and technological integration. It bridges Kano’s theoretical foundations with practical relevance in the contemporary context, suggesting future research directions for the evolving relationship among customer satisfaction, digitisation, and service quality.

Selected types of bonds as sustainable financing instruments
The presented article theoretically defines green, social and sustainable bonds as instruments of sustainable financing in the context of current challenges such as climate change, social inequalities, or the need for sustainable economic growth. The consequences of climate change are clearly more evident and the need to increase climate resilience from a wide range of public and private sources is increasingly urgent. The purpose of the article is to analyze and assess the impact of selected indicators (inflation, emission expenditure targets) on the volume of green, social and sustainable bonds in the world in the context of current results and sustainable financing. The functioning of the market for these bonds is expected to face challenges and risks that need to be subjected to sufficient analysis for the benefit of not only investors, but also issuers, in order to exploit the potential of the instruments based on the needs and capabilities of the country. The analysis is based on aggregated data on an annual basis by ICMA in cooperation with the Luxembourg Stock Exchange on the volumes of green, social and sustainable bonds issued for the years 2015-2023 and from more than 60 countries around the world, thus offering a representative picture of the development of these bonds. The findings presented in the presented article are the basis for further reflection on the possibilities of supporting sustainable financing also through these instruments.

This study examines Donald Trump's use of provocative rhetoric during the 2024 US presidential election, focusing on how his statements circulate within TikTok's attention-driven media environment. Using discourse analysis, 78 unique contentious statements were identified from rallies, debates, and formal political addresses later categorised into viral, semi-viral, and non-viral levels based on platform engagement metrics (views, likes, comments, and reposts). Findings show that only 28 of these statements went viral, with the most successful examples being short, emotionally charged, easily decontextualised, and frequently used in parodies. The analysis shows that Trump's rhetoric is strategic because provocation functions as a tool to enhance visibility on social media platforms.

During World War II, various groups of the Czechoslovak foreign or home resistance created their own plans and visions for the post‑war period. While for the Czechoslovak democratic exile in the West, as well as for the democratic resistance in Slovakia, the priority was the restoration of a democratic Czechoslovakia, for the Czech and Slovak communists it was mainly the reconstruction of a Czechoslovak statehood that would be as closely linked as possible to the Soviet Union and in which the communists would have a strong governmental position. On the other hand, however, there was also a significant contradiction between the Czech exile and the domestic Slovak resistance in reference to the question of the post‑war position of Slovakia in a restored Czechoslovakia. On this issue, the Slovak democrats were closer to the Czech communists who, unlike Beneš and his entourage, were willing to give them the desired federation. This, in addition to the idea of the restoration of a democratic Czechoslovakia, also formed the basis for the resistance cooperation between Slovak communists and democrats. After the war, however, shortly after the front had crossed into the newly liberated territory of Slovakia, a new post‑war reality based on the presence of Soviet military and intelligence agencies addressed the previous plans of the resistance. They were forcing the communists close to them, which resulted in the dominance of the communists in the liberated territory. However, this was relatively ably seconded by the Slovak democrats, especially when the Soviet authorities left the territory with the advancing front.
Read morePhenomenon of Sharenting in Slovak Parents
The study focuses on the growing phenomenon of parent sharenting. The research data was obtained by using a structured interview method. The research population comprised 11 respondents, ten females and one male aged AM=35 years. All respondents are parents of children between 2 and 25 years old, who use social networking sites and have at least once shared content about their children or adolescents in an online social networking environment. The research is unique in its focus, as there is a lack of research on the topic in Slovakia. The results of our research have shown that the age of parents does not influence the frequency or form of sharenting. The research results suggest that parents are mainly guided by personal preferences when sharing content about their children. Most of the parents consider sharing content about their children on social media a natural part of their lives. We found that parents are concerned about not knowing who can access the shared content. The risks associated with sharing content about children on social media perceived by parents are mainly misuse of photos and child abduction. Most parents inform their children about what content they want to share about them.
Read morePublic Administration and Youth: Study of Value Orientation
Academic programs focusing on Public Administration (PA) in Czechia and Slovakia have recently faced a decline in demand. This situation threatens the existence of these programs and, consequently, the availability of skilled public administration servants. Understanding the causes of this problem is a prerequisite for mitigating its impact. The study aims to contribute to the development of the Public Sector Motivation concept by exploring how value orientations among youth influence their perception of PA and their interest in pursuing a career in the public sector. The research uses primary data from surveys conducted among secondary school students (237 Czech respondents, 96 Slovak respondents). The findings indicate that respondents in both countries generally hold negative perceptions of PA. Coupled with a divergence in value-driven motivation between countries, the study helps explain the continuing decline in demand for PA-oriented study programs in both countries.
