Abstract Socio-demographic changes and technological advances over the last decades reveal a constantly changing society. Life expectancy has increased and, consequently, more and more people reach their elder years. However, the distance between generations is increasing. In order to delve into the impact that intergenerational experiences have both for the participants and for society, fifteen semistructured interviews were conducted with professionals working in the intergenerational field in the Basque Country (Spain). To analyze the content, we used the Reinert method with Iramuteq software for lexical analysis. The results demonstrate the power of intergenerational experiences to break down stereotypes and strengthen relationships in favor of greater social cohesion.
