PROBLEMJuvenile delinquency is one of the serious social problems in this country, and it has become an important problem for study.We should clarify the real state of this juvenile delinquency and trace out its causes, in order to take precautionary measures.In general, the behavior of man cannot be understood apart from his conception of values.Even a casual behavior which seems to be of impulse, always has some connection with the conception of values.And especially, the delinquencies of young boys and girls have much to do with what ideas they have on values.We hope here to make it clear how they have come to conceive such ideas of values as they have.It is difficult to grasp these ideas of values, but in this report those values are considered as standards of behavior in our daily life.Those values are sometimes clear in the consciousness but often they are expressed as unconscious emotional responscs.There are many definitions of 'value', as defined in philosophy and etliics, but here this term of 'value' is used as the 'standard of human behavior' or the 'goal of life'.Through our inquiry, the life-period in which primary and secondary school children hope to be living, together with their reasons, were studied.It was our aim to know which periods they would prefer most, and with what emotional motives, and thus, it is expected to approach the aspects of values in relation to their behavior.METHOD
