Simple Prediction of Nonlinear Frequency Response for MEMS Diaphragm with Initial Deformation
A simple method for predicting the nonlinear frequency response of the MEMS diaphragm with initial deformation is proposed in this study. The prediction consists of static analysis based on a finite-element-analysis and numerical analysis based on a normalized motion of equation. For piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducers with different initial deformations (one flat and the other warped upward), their frequency responses are predicted. Typical hardening spring and mixed spring of hardening and softening are predicted for the flat and the upward-warped diaphragms, respectively. Since the trends of the predicted and experimental results are in good agreement, the proposed procedure is useful for the nonlinear frequency response.

If people do not carefully read Matthew 6:20, the essay about Jesus' expression in the phrase "gathering up treasures in heaven," many will assume that what is meant is accumulating the world's wealth in the form of material such as food, clothing, gold, silver and various other things related to material things. However, after conducting an investigation based on the biblical study approach, He gave an essay that accumulating treasure in heaven is an act or act of pleasing God by living rightly and doing His will according to God's Word. It is not wrong to look for worldly treasures in fulfilling all the necessities of life, as long as it is in a good way and according to God's will. Therefore, it must be realized that all worldly treasures in the material form will disappear, while treasures in heaven are eternal and provide eternal happiness to their owners.

In this work, we investigate the problem of an online trajectory design for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in a Federated Learning (FL) setting where several different communities exist, each defined by a unique task to be learned. In this setting, spatially distributed devices belonging to each community collaboratively contribute towards training their community model via wireless links provided by the UAV. Accordingly, the UAV acts as a mobile orchestrator coordinating the transmissions and the learning schedule among the devices in each community, intending to accelerate the learning process of all tasks. We propose a heuristic metric as a proxy for the training performance of the different tasks. Capitalizing on this metric, a surrogate objective is defined which enables us to jointly optimize the UAV trajectory and the scheduling of the devices by employing convex optimization techniques and graph theory. The simulations illustrate the out-performance of our solution when compared to other handpicked static and mobile UAV deployment baselines.
Read moreOn the latency of multi-level polar coded modulations
A commonly assumed drawback of multi-level coding, compared to a bit-interleaved coded modulation, is its high latency: Indeed, the levels must be decoded sequentially. In this paper, we consider polar codes to code each level. We show that the decoding time complexity of the multi-level scheme, using successive-cancellation list decoding for each polar code, is only 1.5 times the one of a single polar code, regardless of the signal-to-noise ratio and the number of levels.

The use of antibiotic growth promoters (AGP) is common practice to improve broiler production and performance. The use of AGP is under discussion as it can induce bacterial resistance. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of removing AGP from broiler feed and study the effect of feed additives. For those countries where in-feed AGP are still permitted, the effect of the products in the presence of AGP was evaluated. Half the number of male broilers received a diet free of AGP, whereas the other half received a diet supplemented with zinc bacitracin at 0.5 g/kg. Both diets were either without additional additives or combined with a coated sodium butyrate, α-monolaurin or a combination of these additives. Raised under optimal conditions, the incorporation of AGP had no effect on broiler performance, but negatively affected villi height and villi height to crypt depth (VH:CD) ratio in the duodenum. In the absence of AGP, butyric acid and α-monolaurin had a positive effect on villi height. In the presence of AGP, α-monolaurin resulted in the lowest feed conversion ratio and improved VH:CD ratio in the duodenum, jejunum and ileum. Both feed additives had minimal effect on performance parameters but showed small positive effects on gut health in the absence of AGP and could play a role in the strategy to replace AGP.

“PlantLogMeister(PLM)” is Contributing to Work Style Reform at Operation Site for DX in The Pulp & Paper Industry

Due to the configuration of separated SubModule (SM) capacitors, factory operation test and system test at installation site for STAtic synchronous COMpensator (STATCOM) using Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC)’s require an energization of capacitors from AC bus. However, from the stability point of view of the connected power system, the impact on the AC bus is desired to be minimum. The authors propose novel test methods and performed the tests using practical type of MMC STATCOM. The test results proved that the STATCOM performance can be tested based on requirements of IEC 62927 and CIGRE TECHNICAL BROCHURES 697.
