Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisi penerapan model pembelajaran PBL berbantu media kantong bilangan di kelas IIA SDN Pedurungan Kidul 01. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini peserta didik kelas IIA yang berjumlah 28 peserta didik di SDN Pedurungan Kidul 01. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantu media kantong bilangan telah terlaksana dengan baik dan aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran karena peserta didik dituntut mencoba, mengamati, dan menarik kesimpulan serta peserta didik tidak merasa bosan karena bisa mencoba sendiri media kantong bilangan tersebut.

This study examines French integration policies and their impact on cultural diversity and the prevalence of xenophobic attitudes within society. Through a literature exploration and review of historical, sociocultural, and policy-driven dimensions, the study investigates the integration challenges confronted by immigrants and their descendants in integrating into French society. The review highlights the deficiencies inherent in current integration strategies, highlighting disparities in employment, healthcare access, and the perpetuation of discriminatory attitudes, notably targeting the East Asian community. Despite claims of colorblindness, the French legal system tacitly endorses xenophobic laws that prioritize a homogeneous society, expecting uniformity in religious observances and language among citizens. Regrettably, these policies have hindered the ability of many immigrants and their progeny to flourish within French society, evident in educational and employment statistics. Drawing parallels with successful integration models such as Canada's multicultural approach, this paper advocates for a fundamental shift in French policies, stressing inclusivity and cultural diversity over a push for homogeneity. By addressing systemic disparities, recognizing and valuing cultural distinctions, and implementing more efficacious integration measures, France can strive toward a more cohesive and harmonious society that benefits immigrants and the indigenous population alike. This can align with the global trend towards embracing cultural diversity as an asset, offering a promising path towards a more unified and equitable French society.

This paper examines the impact of Confucian culture on the company’s operation performance, taking Chinese listed companies from 2000 to 2018 as the research object. The results show that: (1) Confucian culture provides legitimacy for the company's profit-seeking behavior and therefore helps to improve their operating performance; (2) Confucian culture can effectively improve the efficiency of supervision mechanism but weaken the marginal contribution of incentive mechanism to financial performance. This paper provides empirical evidence for the influence of Confucianism on company operation performance, broadening the understanding of the role of informal institutions in company finance and enriching the theory of “culture and finance”.

Three captive-born (5-day-old, 8-day-old, and 4-yr-old) Asian elephants (Elephas maximus) and one captive-born 22-yr-old African elephant (Loxodonta africana) from three private elephant facilities and one zoo in the United States presented with depression, anorexia, and tachycardia as well as gastrointestinal signs of disease including abdominal distention, decreased borborygmi, tenesmus, hematochezia, or diarrhea. All elephants showed some evidence of discomfort including agitation, vocalization, or postural changes. One animal had abnormal rectal findings. Nonmotile bowel loops were seen on transabdominal ultrasound in another case. Duration of signs ranged from 6 to 36 hr. All elephants received analgesics and were given oral or rectal fluids. Other treatments included warm-water enemas or walking. One elephant underwent exploratory celiotomy. Three animals died, and the elephant taken to surgery was euthanized prior to anesthetic recovery. At necropsy, all animals had severe, strangulating intestinal lesions.

Abstract The effect of orientational fluctuations in nematic liquid crystals on the existence of evanescent modes of a transmitted electromagnetic waves is discussed. It is shown that the ratio of evanescent to all (homogeneous and evanescent) modes is a function of the orientational distribution function. The ratio allows further insight on the determination of the orientational potential energy function.

Abstract The existence of acoustical activity, analDgous to optical activity, is postulated for liquid crystals. It is demonstrated that for cholesterics alid the smectic-A phase, as a result of spatial dispersion effects, there exist two acoustically rotated transverse acoustic waves. It is predicted that in the gigahertz region cholesterics will display acoustical rotary power in the neigborhood of 1000 radians/cm.
