Abstract. The analysis of the methods of remote sensing of the Earth (remote sensing) used in mapping the territory of the Russian Federation (satellite imagery, aerial photography from manned and unmanned aerial vehicles - UAVs) is given. The economic, technical and organizational factors influencing the choice of remote sensing method for the purposes of mapping the territory of the country indicated. The advantages of the UAV method are shown. These advantages include lower financial costs of carrying out cartographic works in limited areas, the speed of surveying and obtaining images, the ability to survey from low altitudes, including under low clouds, and obtain high-resolution images. The disadvantages of surveying using UAV include lower productivity on large survey area, restrictions on access to certain territories (depending on terrain, remoteness, and other obstacles), limitations in the ability to install additional equipment to improve the quality and capabilities of aerial survey materials, and increased insurance risk of use. At the same time, taking into account all the positive and negative factors, there is a tendency for the gradual outstripping development of aerial photography from the UAV. Along with the progress in the development of UAVs, this is facilitated by the current situation in the country with a decreasing number of manned aircraft used for aerial photography. Important conditions and the main factors stimulating the UAV demand for their successful implementation and use are improving the quality, reliability, safety and warranty period of UAV operation, development and production of aerial photography equipment for UAV. An important role is also given to changes in legislation that favor the use of UAV, the partial replacement of the aging fleet of manned aircraft used for aerial photography with unmanned systems. The main characteristics of unmanned aerial vehicles of light and medium type necessary for solving production tasks in the field of cartography and cadastre are specified. The main characteristics of on-board equipment for light and medium-type of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) necessary to meet production tasks are given, as well as the main technical requirements for light and medium-type UAS software. The features of photogrammetric processing of remote sensing data obtained with the help of UAS, the need to perform research tests of complexes of technical and software tools for digital aerial photography and photogrammetric processing based on the use of UAS are noted. The conclusion contains findings and recommendations.

The article presents an algorithm for optimizing targeted operation of spacecraft by including in the planning algorithm the requirements for distinguishing consumers, clouds and dynamics of changing the priority of survey areas. The article also presents the results of statistical simulation of the developed algorithm and highlights the key conclusions necessary for the organization of work on the development of commercial remote sensing of the Earth from space, as well as the development of spacecraft based on constellations of small spacecraft.

This paper examines the development of public transit riders' self-concept to provide insight into transit usage decisions and satisfaction. Through a richer understanding, this research aims to facilitate an increase in public transit ridership and satisfaction and thus improve environmental sustainability through reductions in pollution emitting gridlock. We conducted 30 in-depth interviews of women bus riders across South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. Based upon emergent findings, a four-stage model emerged that integrates self-concept and transit bonds, which activates ridership involvement. This paper discusses findings and associated implications for transit researchers and managers.

The article discusses the current problems of the potential theory development in high-tech industrial enterprises. The analysis of existing theoretical approaches to potential assessment is carried out, within which two main directions are identified: resource and result. Their key advantages and methodological limitations are revealed. The necessity of developing an integrated approach integrating the strengths of both methods is substantiated. The authors propose to introduce a single concept of “the enterprise’s total economic potential”, which should be considered as a complex characteristic combining the accumulated resources and capabilities of the enterprise. Special attention is paid to the impact of market conditions, the need to take into account demand and integration into global value chains. The article emphasizes that the modern theory of potential is at the stage of formation and requires further development of both theoretical foundations and practical methods for assessing the potential of a high-tech industrial enterprise.

Three light curves of the V1059 Cep eclipsing binary obtained in 2012, 2013 and 2021 were analyzed. We found the rapid apsidal motion in this system at the ratedw/dt= 7.2°per year. Assuming the equality of observed and theoretical apsidal motion rates we estimated physical characteristics of the components based on the data on their temperatures from the literature. According to our calculations the components are two very similar stars of the B7 V–B7.5 V spectral type with masses≈(3.4 ± 0.3)M⊙and age 180 ± 30 million years.

We present an updated catalog of sources detected by the Mikhail Pavlinsky ART-XC telescope aboard the Spektrum-Roentgen-Gamma (SRG) observatory during its all-sky survey. It is based on the data of the first four and the partially completed fifth scans of the sky (ARTSS1-5). The catalog comprises 1545 sources detected in the 4–12 keV energy band. The achieved sensitivity ranges between ~4 × 10−12 erg s−1 cm−2 near the ecliptic plane and ~7 × 10−13 erg s−1 cm−2 near the ecliptic poles, which is a ~30–50% improvement over the previous version of the catalog based on the first two all-sky scans (ARTSS12). There are ~130 objects, excluding the expected contribution of spurious detections, that were not known as X-ray sources before the SRG/ART-XC all-sky survey. We provide information, partly based on our ongoing follow-up optical spectroscopy program, on the identification and classification of the majority of the ARTSS1-5 sources (1463), of which 173 are tentative at the moment. The majority of the classified objects (964) are extragalactic, a small fraction (30) are located in the Local Group of galaxies, and 469 are Galactic. The dominant classes of objects in the catalog are active galactic nuclei (911) and cataclysmic variables (192).

Starting from March 2022 Russian companies are facing a structural crisis while IT industry was the most affected. The paper investigates the impact of qualities of top management’s human capital (HC) in the domestic IT companies on the effectiveness of their adaptation to this crisis. The novelty of the paper is underpinned by (1) the rare investigation of the topic at times of crises; and (2) coverage of the entire top management team. The results showed that HC of top managers moderately and positively impacted the effectiveness of firms to adapt to the crisis. No difference in strength of impact of CEO HC and HC of the rest of the team was discovered. Such qualities of HC as (1) young age; (2) taking office before the crisis; (3) experience in international companies; (4) experience in IT industry; and (5) openness to stakeholders the most supported the adaptation to crisis.

This is the fifth article in a series of publications on improving the statistical quality of solving inverse photogrammetry tasks. As a consequence of the algorithms developed before, to improve the statistical quality of the equalization, the possibility of evaluating its accuracy results has become quite obvious and unexpected at the same time. The essence of the methods used to assess the exactness of direct and indirect measurements is described. Their shortcomings are noted. Based on the analysis of the algorithms for correcting, a new, alternative method for evaluating the mentioned results is proposed. Its advantages in comparison with known methods are noted. The main ones are
