Cryogenic treatment is the process of cooling a material to extremely low temperatures to generate enhanced mechanical and physical properties. The present investigation examines the effect of a deep cryogenic treatment on the enhancement of mechanical properties, such as the wear resistance, the corrosion resistance, the tensile strength, and the impact strength of the plunger material 100Cr6 bearing steel. An improvement in those properties of the deep cryogenically treated samples over the conventionally heat treated ones was found to be 50, 26, 13, and 27%, respectively. This study suggests that the formation of very small carbides dispersed in the tempered martensite structure can be the main reason for the enhancement of certain mechanical properties, along with the retained austenite transformations.

O presente artigo trata dos princípios de uma Narrativa transmídia: na Produção da série Heartstopper. Como objetivo vamos identificar as técnicas de uma Narrativa transmídiatica, tendo como foco principal a produção Heartstopper da produtora e escritora Alice Oseman, tendo em vista que a série televisiva é uma das produções midiáticas com maior índice de popularidade nos streamings da atualidade. Para isso, utilizaremos os princípios de uma narrativa transmídia de JENKINS (2008). Nesse sentido, por meio de um estudo descritivo busca-se mostrar os principais princípios para uma produção ser considerada transmídia. Conclui-se que a narrativa da série Heartstopper carrega consigo temas e discussões da atualidade como a aceitação da sexualidade entre os jovens é a questão da homofobia em forma de bullying, que e em diversas cenas é demonstrado como isso afeta pessoas LGBTQ+ e se torna um assunto de suma importância na atualidade.

BackgroundMicrobial identification & antibiotic susceptibility testing is an important investigation in clinical microbiology laboratory. In many centres in India the report has only the isolate and antibiotics tested. The additional comments if added give guidance to the clinicians to utilize the results. Pre-analytical issues of adequate & relevant clinical history, appropriate sampling techniques, timely transport & storage, history of antibiotic usage along with post analytical issues of recommended line of antibiotic therapy and infection control practices are better addressed with this practice.MethodsThis was a prospective qualitative study from the period of January 2017-March 2021 where in the standard operating protocol of Clinical Microbiology was reviewed and appropriate comments were included in the Laboratory Information System once the isolate was identified using VITEK 2, automated ID/AST instrument and interfaced. The Clinical Microbiologist would then review the comments upon discussion with the clinicians and then authorize reports. The reports included sample & isolate specific details , recommended antibiotic therapy and infection control related comments. This was based on standard international and national guidelines (CLSI, EUCAST, IDSA, IAP, and National Treatment Guidelines of India).ResultsThere was a gradual improvement in completion of request forms with clinical history, sample site and antibiotic history being mentioned. This was assessed through periodic audits conducted every quarter from 36% in March 2017 to 95% in March 2021. Clinical communication with the microbiology laboratory also showed improvement with documentation. Feedback from clinicians was also taken on the utility of these comments, (87/120)72.5% of the clinicians found them useful(Grade 5). (32/120) 26 %(Grade 3) of the clinicians had concerns about the turnaround time and requested for provisional reports.ConclusionInterpretative comments in reports act as a bridge between clinical microbiology, infectious diseases and infection control. They help us to choose the correct antibiotics or sometimes no antibiotics when the situation demands it. With all the recent advancements, the clinico-microbiological utility of culture reports is the need of the hour.DisclosuresAll Authors: No reported disclosures

This executive summary of the clinical practice guideline for the evaluation and diagnosis of chest pain provides recommendations and algorithms for clinicians to assess and diagnose chest pain in adult patients. A comprehensive literature search was conducted from November 11, 2017, to May 1, 2020, encompassing studies, reviews, and other evidence conducted on human subjects that were published in English from PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Collaboration, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality reports, and other relevant databases. Additional relevant studies, published through April 2021, were also considered. Structure: Chest pain is a frequent cause for emergency department visits in the United States. The "2021 AHA/ACC/ASE/CHEST/SAEM/SCCT/SCMR Guideline for the Evaluation and Diagnosis of Chest Pain" provides recommendations based on contemporary evidence on the assessment and evaluation of chest pain. These guidelines present an evidence-based approach to risk stratification and the diagnostic workup for the evaluation of chest pain. Cost-value considerations in diagnostic testing have been incorporated and shared decision-making with patients is recommended.

Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) is an electrical motor which operates by a reluctance torque that has stator and rotor salient poles. It also has a simple configuration and reasonable power electronics necessity for both AC and DC machines within adjustable-speed drives. The problem working on it is, SRM with doubly salient poles introduce a torque ripple in its output which leads to deteriorated performance on speed control. In this proposed work, torque ripple reduction and speed control of SRM is implemented, utilizing an asymmetrical converter with PI-PWM controller with the aid of Bio-inspired algorithms. By utilizing the best value of flux, torque ripple and integral square error of speed and settling times, controller design is performed. The proposed research work compares three optimization algorithms namely Crow Search Algorithm, an Improved Ant Lion Optimization Algorithm and Modified Chaotic Starling Particle Swarm technique to control the speed and torque reduction of SRM in aerospace applications. To obtain the optimal parameter values, optimization techniques are introduced and the optimized controller results are compared with other conventional controller results. In normal operation, the engine operates with two phases simultaneously, but it is modelled to meet the load specification, which is single and double phase faulty. Detection of fault gives a great outcome in control of an electrical drive system. Reduction of faulty operation time leads to better motor lifetime that is obtained by early detection of a fault. This paper presents how the five-phase switched reluctance motor is designed to meet the needs of flap actuators in mid-sized aircraft. Electrical systems are modelled to provide the right functionality at the right time in advanced aircraft. However, requirement of power for the landing gear and secondary flight control only a short duration. The system is powered on and off as required, thus preserving power. Control performance and fault analysis were verified by the results of the MATLAB simulation. Experiments have been carried out more effectively to compare the results obtained with those of simulations.

Abstract Most panfacial fractures occur with concomitant injuries to other organs. Management of panfacial fractures is challenging and requires proper planning and sequencing along with adequate knowledge of its anatomy and management.. Airway, breathing, circulation, disability and exposure (ABCDE) always remain the primary care in any trauma setting. Maxillofacial surgeons play a key role in initial stabilisation of fractures, control of local hemorrharage to facial areas and estlabishment of definitive airway in special situations. Definitive treatment is usually done after stabilisation of the patient and systematic evaluation of all systemic injuries. Panfacial fractures demand a lot more planning towards their management. The understanding of same is described in this chapter, in a methododical manner starting from the philosophy, indications, clinical findings to its management in adults and children including the commonly seen complications. This should give the reader adequate knowledge to learn from the authors experiences and comprehensively be able to manage these injuries after having achieved a level of experience and excellence in maxillofacial surgery.

O objetivo do presente estudo consiste em apresentar a faixa etária dos agricultores familiares do Amazonas, bem como a participação por gênero com base no Censo Agropecuário de 2017. Constitui-se um desafio fazer abordagens a respeito da agricultura familiar, e bem mais detidamente desafiante é fazer este exercício a respeito da agricultura familiar amazonense. Visto que um dos principais motivadores das mobilizações de ocupações de terras tem sido o de prover alimento, focar nesta vertente de “quem” está nos bastidores desta produtividade, é algo relevante. Os dados obtidos para a discussão são extraídos do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE). Faz-se uma ligeira apresentação da teoria que cobre a temática, bem como das questões pertinentes ao estado do Amazonas e de seu desempenho na agricultura familiar. Os resultados mostram que o estado tem apresentado desempenho significativo. Mostram que o grupo de idade com maior participação na atividade é o de agricultores com 45 a 55 anos e de 55 a 65 anos, mas que a força jovem está presente na atividade. Revelam ainda que embora no campo, as áreas rurais sejam eminentemente masculinas, há significativa participação feminina nesta temática.

O vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana (HIV) ao infectar o indivíduo pode propiciar vulnerabilidade no organismo frente a infecções, como também pode acarretar a Síndrome da Imunodeficiência Adquirida (AIDS). Dito isso, o objetivo do presente estudo foi compreender sobre relação entre a adesão ao tratamento e o bem-estar subjetivo de Pessoas Vivendo com HIV/AIDS (PVHA). Caracteriza-se por ser uma pesquisa exploratória e descritiva, realizada em um hospital de referência no tratamento de PVHA na região Norte. A coleta de dados ocorreu no período de outubro de 2018 a 2019, em que foram investigados 50 pacientes, de ambos os sexos e com idades entre 20 a 50 anos. Utilizou-se do questionário sociodemográfico, seguido de dois instrumentos, esses: Cuestionario para la Evaluación de la Adhesión al Tratamiento Antiretroviral (CEAT-VIH) e a Escala de Bem-Estar Subjetivo (EBES). Foram feitas análises de correlação e regressão linear utilizando critério p 0.05. Os resultados apontaram correlações fracas à moderadas entre a adesão ao tratamento e o bem-estar subjetivo. Através da regressão linear, observou-se que os antecedentes e a satisfação presentes no CEAT-VIH estão relacionados aos aspectos positivos e negativos da EBES. Dessa forma, compreende-se que o processo de adesão ao tratamento não atua individualmente, mas sofre influências do bem-estar subjetivo na vida de PVHA.

Many countries have been affected by the COVID-19, and health departments are facing delays to detect the new coronavirus symptoms. Artificial Intelligence (AI) models are designed for the automatic detection of respiratory diseases patterns using computed tomography (CT) scans of the chest. However, the training time consumed by the algorithms is a key parameter that is not properly attended. In this article, we propose an AI solution using an activation function that helps to obtain a low training time. Experimental results show that our proposal overcome several deep learning architectures, such as the 3D deep Convolutional Neural Network to Detect COVID-19 (DeCoVNet).
