Nach 1945 setzten Anfragen zur Familienforschung in den Archiven erneut und in stärkerem Maße ein als vor dem Krieg. Im fürstlich Hohenloheschen Zentral-Archiv entstand deshalb zu diesem Zweck eine "Dienerkartei", die die Suche nach den gewünschten Personen erleichterte. Den Namen der Beamten und Diener wurden die verschiedenen Fundstellen in den verschiedenen Archiv-Abteilungen in Buchstaben und Zahlen beigesetzt. Ebenso wurden im Archiv der Stadt Öhringen so nach und nach die Bürger, Handwerker und Heiraten in Karteien festgehalten. Dazu wurden die Ratsprotokolle der Stadt, die Rechnungen vom 16. und 17. Jahrhundert, die Eheverträge vom 18. bis Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts festgehalten. Die Einbürgerung und das "Woher", die Abwanderung und das "Wohin", die Proklamationen und Copulationen, die Nachsteuer geben Aufschluß über Vermögen und Verwandtschaften. Lücken ließen sich leider durch den Zustand mancher der alten Bücher und fehlende Rechnungsbücher nicht vermeiden. So ergab sich ein Bild der Bewegung der Öhringer Bevölkerung innerhalb von mehr als 300 Jahren.

Aside from external cladding pressure loads that are always considered in IGU design, a variety of unique factors must also be addressed when analyzing the structural performance of a slumped IGU with a large air cavity. These factors include the volume of air within the cavity, the stiffness and strength of the outer and inner lites of glass, elevation changes between the glass fabrication facility and the building site, temperature changes over time, fluctuations in barometric pressure, and increased stress on the secondary structural perimeter seal. Appropriate deflection limits for mullions or other elements supporting the IGU must also be established due to the increased stiffness of the IGU resulting from the slumped glass geometry. Engineering challenges related to the design of slumped IGU’s will be highlighted and explained using Nike’s new retail flagship store in New York City, Nike House of Innovation 000, as a case study for a dynamic facade featuring custom carved and slumped insulating glass units. Principal analysis methods, testing procedures, and a summary of the various software tools used to evaluate the slumped IGU’s will be provided. The solutions shown will illustrate how the fundamental design and engineering approach taken for Nike can be successfully applied to other projects that incorporate slumped IGU’s into their facades.

ABSTRACTIn this paper, for the first time, disk-based discontinuous deformation analysis (DDA) is applied to simulate a real landslide triggered by an earthquake. For this purpose, the kinematic behaviour of the Donghekou landslide triggered by the Wenchuan earthquake is simulated and the results obtained using disk-based DDA are compared with actual data. The comparisons show that there is a good agreement between the results obtained using disk-based DDA and observed data. The simulation results provided an understanding of the failure behaviour and temporal evolution of the landslide. This study shows that disk-based DDA is a practical numerical tool that can be used to simulate the post-failure behaviour of landslides triggered by an earthquake.

An airborne ground looking radar sensor's performance may be enhanced by selecting algorithms adaptively as the environment changes. A short description of an airborne intelligent radar system (AIRS) is presented with an in-depth description of the knowledge based filter and detection portions. A second level of artificial intelligence (AI) processing is presented that monitors, tests, and learns how to improve and control the first level. This approach is based upon metacognition.

Waveform diversity has been investigated by various organizations for a number of specific multiple function systems for about ten years. Applications that are being investigated include: • Multi-Mission Systems, including joint radar/embedded communications and simultaneous multi-mission radar • Advanced Target Classification, using multi-static imaging or multi-band/multi-static operation • Multi-Static Surveillance, including using distributed apertures to provide improved detection, tracking and interference rejection • Radars with unique modulation or unique spectrum usage. Each of these applications has constraints that prevent them from being accomplished with conventional waveforms. However, the greater design space of waveform diversity may provide the required capability. In previous work, multi-mission waveform methodology was extended to provide interleaved waveforms sequentially radiated from an aperture, and simultaneous orthogonal waveforms radiated from sub-apertures of the radar system. But effective operation in other modes (track, id, handoff) will require greater flexibility than is available with only the interleaved and sub-aperture approaches. A further advance in multi-mission waveform is required. Orthogonal waveforms must be radiated from the whole aperture simultaneously in addition to the mode using sub-apertures. In fact, a full capability multi-mission radar would require all three modes and the goal of our ongoing effort is to develop and demonstrate such a capability. When this goal is met, airborne radar systems concepts can be developed to meet a full spectrum of multi-mission needs. Our effort to develop simultaneous waveforms for air and ground surveillance (SWAGS) focuses on the critical software and hardware technologies required to make this full capability multi-mission radar feasible.

In this paper, we propose a numerical method to obtain a solution for the time domain electric field integral equation (TD-EFIE) for arbitrary shaped conducting structures. This method does not utilize the customary marching-on in time (MOT) solution method often used to solve a hyperbolic partial differential equation. Instead we solve the wave equation by expressing the transient behaviors in terms of Laguerre polynomials. By using these causal orthonormal basis functions for the temporal variation, the time derivatives can be handled analytically. In order to solve the wave equation, we introduce two separate testing procedures, a spatial and temporal testing. By introducing first the Galerkin temporal testing procedure, the MOT procedure is replaced by a recursive relation between the different orders of the weighted Laguerre polynomials. The other novelty of this approach is that through the use of the entire domain Laguerre polynomials for the expansion of the temporal variation of the current, the spatial and the temporal variables can be separated and the temporal variables can be integrated out. For convenience, we use the Hertz vector as the unknown variable instead of the electric current density. To verify our method, we compare the results of a TD-EFIE and inverse Fourier transform of a frequency domain EFIE.

Existing surveillance platforms are expensive to operate and are limited to a single function. Radar technology currently supports the development of systems capable of addressing multiple missions. However, existing waveform design approaches do not permit the accomplishment of these multiple tasks at the same time. This paper introduces the concept of using an evolutionary computation approach for waveform optimization for a diverse set of multi-mission concepts. Evolutionary computation searches the solution space through the use of simulated evolution. The fittest individuals (waveform suites) tend to reproduce and survive to the next generation, thus improving successive generations. Multi-mission radar concepts are possible addressing simultaneous air and ground moving target indication and radar imaging. Other potential radar applications include airport control radars performing simultaneous aircraft, weather, and bird hazard surveillance.

This paper discusses the current state-of-the-art in millimeter-wave radiometric imagers being developed for law enforcement use within the United States. The most prevalent application at present is the detection of concealed weapons (guns, knives, etc.) with a secondary application involving the detection of drugs and explosives. Three main topics will be addressed: the phenomenology of concealed weapon detection at millimeter wavelengths, the promise and short comings of first generation radiometric imagers, and the characteristics of second generation systems currently under development.

A number of sensors are being developed for the Concealed Weapon Detection, and use of the appropriate sensor or combination of sensor will be very important to the success of such technologies. Assuming that two identical sensors are used to collect data on a target from different angular views, this paper addresses the problem of registration associated with the collected scenes. Theory and application to real data are presented.
