Abstract Satellite Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) is an accredited technology used in many fields in the last decades, but represents a relatively new technology for civil infrastructures monitoring. It allows to measure displacement along the line of sight (LOS) of the sensor with a millimetric precision. This study was conducted to show the potential of SAR sensors, mounted on satellite platforms, in detecting displacements induced by the excavations of tunnels in urban areas. Advances in remote sensing, such as the development of Multi‐Temporal InSAR algorithms, have overcome the limit of InSAR due to spatial‐temporal decorrelation of the phase measurement, thus improving the precision of the outcomes. Here the COSMO‐SkyMed satellite constellation acquired data over a small area in the city of Naples, affected by the excavation of twin tunnels. Data were processed with the SARPROZ software, while tunnel induced settlement were predicted with empirical methods. To allow comparison, displacements along LOS were projected in the vertical plane. Results indicate a good agreement between the monitored data and the predicted profile of settlement, further confirming the potential of MT‐InSAR in detecting displacements induced by tunneling excavation in urbanized area.

This purpose of this research is to increase students’ interest at the elementary level of SD Negeri 4 Sigli by using Pictures in learning Indonesian Language. The type of researched was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The object of the research was the students’ interest at SD Negeri 4 Sigli using pictures as media. The technique of collecting data was observation. The observation was used to identify the fact about students’ interest. The data Analysis used was qualitative description and percentage of students’ learning interest. The result showed that through pictures media the students’ learning interest increased. The earlier observation had 50 %. After doing treatment in cycle 1 the mean value was only 51,1. Most of the students still got lower value in learning achievements and also below the standard criteria i.e. 75 %. Thus it had to be continued to the next cycle. In the cycle II the students’ mean value increased 98,12 %. Most students got highest score in this cycle i.e. 100%. The conclusion was the use of pictures media gave the improvement in students’ learning at SD Negeri 4 Sigli.

Abstract Research summaryWe theoretically and empirically study the effects of legal institutions on the inclusion of arbitration provisions in international joint venture (IJV) contracts. Legal institutions offer a public trilateral forum to handle interpartner disputes. However, these institutions function differently across countries, which can impede IJV partners from resolving disputes effectively through court systems. Alternatively, partners can take advantage of private trilateral resolution mechanisms in the form of arbitration. We argue and demonstrate that differences among partners' home country legal institutions regarding the legal traditions, as well as the importance of procedures and costs imposed in these countries for enforcing contracts, increase the likelihood of choosing arbitration over litigation. We also compare results for partners' recourse to IJV boards as a private, bilateral means of addressing conflicts. Managerial summaryIJVs are powerful levers for market expansion and access to resources and capabilities. The risks of corrosive disputes caused by conflicting interests or misunderstandings among partners are nonetheless far from being negligible. Our study helps decision makers and managers increase their understanding of the options and remedies available for resolving disputes. We consider three mechanisms in particular: public courts, arbitration, and the board of directors. Findings show that considering the partners' home country legal environments but also the discrepancies between these environments is essential when it comes to giving preference to arbitration over public courts. Findings also suggest that decisions related to internal private ordering (i.e., relying on the JV board of directors) are driven by the exchange characteristics more than by institutional considerations.

Kata kunci: tegangan retak, lereng dan Metode Elemen Hingga ABSTRACTDrought conditions that continue to cause environmental conditions become dry. If it happens to the ground especially the slope it will cause a Tension crack and trigger the occurrence of sliding. This model is collaborated among a depth of tension crack, position of tension crack and slope gradient with unsaturated soil condition and saturated soil condition using PLAXIS 2D with finite element method. The analysis result for the condition of unsaturated soil is at 1.6-1.8 with safe condition and for saturated soil condition for slope of 1: 1 under one or is in unsafe condition, slope of 1:1,5 and slope of 1:2 are at 1.4-1.5 with safe conditions.Keyword: tension crack, slope dan Finite Elemen Method
