Background/Objectives: Psilocybin has re-emerged as a promising intervention for neuropsychiatric disorders including major depressive disorder, treatment-resistant depression, anxiety associated with life-threatening illness, obsessive compulsive disorder, and substance use disorders. However, conventional randomized controlled trials (RCTs)-the current gold standard in evidence-based medicine-may not adequately capture the therapeutic complexity of psilocybin, which depends not only on pharmacological action but also on contextual, psychological, and interpersonal factors. This critical narrative review aimed to evaluate the adequacy of existing clinical research frameworks for assessing psilocybin's therapeutic potential and to explore alternative methodologies that may better reflect real-world clinical conditions. Methods: Using the Web of Science Core Collection database, we identified and analysed the ten most cited clinical studies on psilocybin published between 2015 and 2025 inclusive. Additional literature was included through reference cross-checking, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and interdisciplinary sources covering neurobiology, history, and real-world evidence (RWE). The review synthesizes clinical outcomes, methodological constraints, and epistemic considerations relevant to psychedelic-assisted therapy. Results: Evidence from highly cited trials demonstrates rapid and sustained antidepressant and anxiolytic effects of psilocybin, with notable benefits also observed in addiction treatment. However, significant methodological limitations were identified, including selection bias, challenges in placebo design and blinding, small sample sizes, and the underrepresentation of diverse populations. Psilocybin outcomes were strongly influenced by subjective experience and contextual factors such as set and setting. Emerging RWE studies revealed heterogeneous patterns of response and provided insights unattainable through RCTs alone. Conclusions: Psilocybin shows considerable therapeutic promise, but current RCT methodologies capture only part of its clinical effects. Comprehensive evaluation will require larger and more diverse clinical trials, long-term follow-up, standardized psychotherapeutic protocols, and the integration of RWE to reflect real-world practice. Psychedelic-assisted therapy should be conceptualized as a complex intervention that combines pharmacological and psychotherapeutic components.

POMPA NUPTIALIS OF SIGISMUND III VASA AND ANNA HABSBURG IN 1592: ITALIAN ARTISTS IN THE SERVICE OF THE POLISH KING The successful conclusion of negotiations regarding the marriage of Sigismund III to Anna Habsburg, which was a personal success for the young Vasa, was celebrated in a manner befitting a triumphant king. At the turn of May and June 1592, wedding celebrations took place in Krakow, accompanied by a unique artistic and ideological setting. It was influenced by the earlier ceremonial entries of Polish rulers into Krakow in 1574 and 1587, as well as the lavish wedding of Chancellor Jan Zamoyski and Gryzelda Batorówna in 1583, and models reaching the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth from Italy, France and the territories under Habsburg rule. During the wedding celebrations of Sigismund III and Anna Habsburg, for the first time in the history of the entry of future queens into the coronation city, triumphal gates were erected along the route of the procession, and a temporary event hall was built on Wawel Hill, where ballet performances and paratheatrical shows took place, while a masquerade, tournament and races were organised in the Market Square. The rich programme and undisturbed course of the royal wedding were to ensure international publicity for the event, which Sigismund III planned to use for political and propaganda purposes. In order to realise the king’s intentions, painters and engineer-set designers were brought from Italy to Krakow, along with a shipment of expensive fabrics. With the help of local masters, such as the surveyor Pietro Franco, they created the artistic setting for the royal wedding, perhaps influencing its ideological content to some extent. Thanks to the illuminations, music, rich scenography, props and costumes, and above all the ‘self-propelled’ machines (moving platforms) and trapdoors, the use of which introduced ‘special effects’ to the spectacle, the royal wedding achieved the desired success.

The article shows the process of progressive ethnicization of public life on the example of a small town in the Wielkopolska region, with particular reference to the arrival of a larger group of Jews with Polish passports, deported by the authorities of the Third Reich, from two perspectives: the emergence of official discourse (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and provincial discourse (with particular reference to the town of Zbąszyń). The author assumes that the language of ethnic stigmatization, in many cases with elements of radical antisemitic rhetoric, significantly permeated and ultimately shaped both these discourses and later formed social practices. The new social imaginary which developed on this basis excluded ethnic outsiders in principle, and Jews in particular. There was little room left for humanitarian aid, gestures of compassion and empathy, or solidarity, as there were either no representatives for such emotions in the public space, or they were categorized as strangers or aliens/enemies.

This paper presents an analysis of construction practicalities in early modern Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. With the extraordinarily rich documentation on Krystynopol (present-day Sheptytskyi in western Ukraine) as its basis, the paper investigates the story behind the construction site. First, it discusses the founder’s, Franciszek Salezy Potocki, initiative. The author then proceeds to study the people employed and the materials used, explains how the architectural shape of the monastery was negotiated, and delves into patronage and funding. As the paper traces the roles of various actors (founder, Church hierarchy, Basilian monks, contracted artists and artisans, suppliers of materials, and regular workers), it reveals on-the-ground complexities and stresses the importance of multi-layer cooperation that had to cross religious and social boundaries.

Lata 1948–1949 były okresem zaostrzenia polityki czystek personalnych w „ludowym” Wojsku Polskim.
