Protected forests play a vital role in maintaining ecosystem balance, such as regulating water systems, controlling floods, and preserving soil fertility. However, pressure from population growth and community activities around forest areas particularly land clearing for plantations has led to significant changes in land cover. This research was conducted from May to November 2023 and aimed to calculate the land cover area for the years 2013 and 2023, as well as analyze land cover changes in the Protected Forest area of Tanantovea District, Donggala, over the ten-year period. Land cover identification and its changes were assessed using Landsat 8 satellite imagery, classified through a supervised classification method. Image data processing identified five types of land cover: primary dryland forest, secondary dryland forest, plantations, shrubs, and bare land. The results showed that the primary dryland forest experienced a decrease of 522.20 hectares, while other land cover classes increased in area. These changes were driven by the socio-economic conditions of surrounding communities, such as low-income levels, limited employment opportunities, and small land ownership. The classification accuracy reached 82%, indicating that the image interpretation was reasonably representative of actual field conditions. These findings highlight the importance of utilizing remote sensing technology to monitor land cover dynamics and support sustainable forest management decision-making.

This study examines the extent to which profitability, leverage, and firm size contribute to changes in firm value, while also evaluating the role of asset growth as a moderating variable in this relationship. Using a quantitative positivist approach, data analysis used moderated regression (MRA), where data sources were obtained through documentation of financial statements and annual reports of pharmaceutical sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2021-2024 period. Purposive sampling was used to select the sample in this study based on several predetermined criteria, resulting in the selection of 11 companies as the research sample. The test results found that firm value was positively and significantly influenced by profitability and firm size, while leverage showed no significant effect. Asset growth did not moderate the relationship between profitability and firm value, but was shown to strengthen the effect of leverage and weaken the effect of firm size on firm value. Practically, this confirms that efforts to increase firm value can be directed through profitability optimization and better asset management, so that business expansion can run efficiently and increase investor confidence.

Background: Students’ mathematical reasoning is often limited by their difficulty in linking abstract mathematical concepts with meaningful real-life contexts. In many classrooms, mathematics is perceived as disconnected from students’ sociocultural experiences, which can hinder the development of deeper reasoning processes. Aims: This study aims to profile students’ mathematical reasoning abilities within the Alkhairaat sociocultural context and to examine how contextual integration influences reasoning across different ability levels. Method: A sequential explanatory mixed-methods design was employed involving 33 eighth-grade students in a madrasah. Quantitative data were collected through a mathematical reasoning test embedded in the Alkhairaat context and analyzed using the Rasch measurement model (Ministep 5.10.4.0) to evaluate the instrument’s psychometric quality and map students’ reasoning abilities. Qualitative data were then obtained through clinical interviews to explore students’ cognitive processes when solving contextual problems. Results: Rasch analysis indicated acceptable psychometric properties, with item reliability of 0.67 and person reliability of 0.58. Wright Map analysis categorized students into three ability levels: high (12.12%), medium (66.67%), and low (21.21%). The findings show that the Alkhairaat context functions differently across ability levels: as a cognitive tool for abstraction among high-ability students, as procedural scaffolding for medium-ability students, and primarily as an affective anchor for low-ability students. Conclusion: Integrating sociocultural contexts such as Alkhairaat values can support mathematical reasoning by providing meaningful entry points for abstraction. However, its effectiveness depends on students’ initial proficiency, indicating the need for additional instructional support for lower-ability learners.

Shallot cultivation in dryland areas is often constrained by limited water availability and low soil fertility. Deficiencies in organic matter and essential nutrients, particularly nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, hinder optimal plant growth. To enhance the success of shallot farming under such conditions, strategies to improve water availability and nutrient supply are required, including periodic irrigation and the application of site-specific fertilisers. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different watering intervals and fertiliser types on the growth and productivity of shallots in dryland ecosystems, serving as a reference for good agricultural practices. The experiment was conducted in Bulupountu Village, Sigi Biromaru District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, from May 2023 to November 2023. A split-plot experimental design was employed, with watering interval as the main plot factor (T1: daily, T2: every two days, T3: every three days) and fertiliser type as the subplot factor (F0: no fertiliser/control, F1: organic fertiliser at recommended dose, F2: inorganic fertiliser at recommended dose). The agronomic performance observed was plant height, number of leaves per plant, number of tillers, bulb weight per clump and yield per hectare of shallot. The results demonstrated that both watering interval and fertiliser type significantly influenced shallot growth and yield. The combination of watering every two days and application of 5 t/ha organic fertiliser yielded the most favourable results, producing up to 6.20 t/ha of shallots. These findings suggest that optimising water and nutrient management is essential for improving shallot productivity in dryland agriculture.

This study analyzes inpatient service tariffs using the Activity-Based Costing (ABC) method to obtain a more accurate estimation of actual costs. Direct and indirect cost data were processed by identifying service activities and cost drivers, and the results were compared with the hospital’s existing tariffs. The ABC method revealed discrepancies between actual resource consumption and current pricing, indicating both underpricing and overpricing across several inpatient classes. These findings suggest that ABC provides a more reliable basis for tariff formulation and supports efficiency improvements in hospital cost management.

This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the Salman Orange Juice (SOJ) micro-enterprise in Palu City, which produces fresh orange drinks based on local raw materials.
