Unpacking the Determinants of Foreign Direct Investment: A Systematic Literature Review (2008–2024) and Future Research Agenda
Purpose : This study presents a comprehensive systematic literature review about the factors influencing foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows and outflows. Method : We synthesize and analyze 294 empirical studies from 2008 to 2024 using a framework-based review of the Antecedent — Decision — Outcome (ADO) and Theory — Context — Method (TCM) model. Findings : The findings are presented, including theories, context, and methodologies adopted in the current literature. We also reveal factors influencing FDI and the impacts of FDI investigated in the literature. Originality: A major novelty of this review lies in its development of a categorization matrix that distinguishes between push versus pull factors and institutional versus non-institutional drivers. This matrix provides a bidirectional and multi-layered perspective on how FDI determinants operate across home and host countries. Additionally, we propose a conceptual model describing FDI inflow and outflow patterns. This offers a holistic picture of the affecting mechanisms and impacts on FDI. Contribution : The study offers a refined research agenda with research questions and directions for future studies. This review also contributes an actionable foundation for advancing FDI research and informing policymaking.

In this article, we study the existence of solutions to a non-autonomous anisotropic fractional equation M ( [ v ] s , p p ) ( − Δ ) N s s v + ∑ i = 1 m M i ( [ v ] s , p i p i ) ( − Δ ) p i s v + V ( ε x ) ( | v | N s − 2 v + ∑ i = 1 m | v | p i − 2 v ) = Q ( ε x ) f ( v ) in R N , where ε is a positive parameter, m ≥ 1 , N = p s , s ∈ ( 0 , 1 ) and 2 ≤ ( N / s ) = p < p 1 < ⋯ < p m . Further, the nonlinear function f exhibits critical as well as supercritical exponential growth, while absorption potential V and reaction potential Q are bounded continuous functions, M ( t ) = a + b t , a > 0 , b > 0 and M i ( t ) = a i + b i t , a i > 0 , b i > 0 , i = 1 , … , m are Kirchhoff functions. By applying variational methods, we prove the existence of a nontrivial nonnegative solution to the given equation when ε is small enough.

In this paper, we establish a Mather–Yau theorem for higher Nash blowup algebras, demonstrating that the isomorphism type of the local ring of any hypersurface singularity, defined over an arbitrary field, is fully determined by its higher Nash blowup algebras. The classical Mather–Yau theorem (1982) asserts that for isolated complex hypersurface singularities, the isomorphism type of the local ring is determined by the Tjurina algebra. In positive characteristic, this result was extended by considering the higher Tjurina algebras by Greuel and Pham (2017) under the assumptions of an algebraically closed ground field and isolated singularities. Our work begins by proving the stability of higher Nash blowup algebras under contact equivalence in a very general framework. Specifically, we show that the higher Nash blowup algebras of any system of elements in an analytic or geometric ring remain invariant under contact equivalence. For complex hypersurface singularities, this stability was conjectured by Hussain, Ma, Yau, and Zuo, and was recently verified by Le and Yasuda. Finally, the converse is established using a classical result of Samuel (1956).

Recycling of End-of-Life Trawling Nets in Vietnam Towards Sustainable Circular Economy Applications
Abstract Plastic waste from end-of-life (EOL) fishing nets is a significant contributor to marine pollution. Recycling these nets has attracted increasing attention, particularly in coastal countries such as Vietnam. However, recycled materials often exhibit reduced properties compared to virgin materials due to degradation. Blending recycled and virgin polymers provides a simple solution to obtain materials with properties close to virgin ones, thereby reducing the demand for natural resource extraction. In this study, EOL trawling nets were collected, cleaned, shredded, and extruded into recycled granulates (RGs), which were compared with virgin granulates (VGs) and a 1:1 blend (R-VGs). Characterization was performed using FTIR, DSC, MFI, and tensile testing. Results confirm that the nets are made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). RGs showed slightly lower yield stress (20.94 MPa) than VGs (21.59 MPa), while R-VGs reached 21.50 MPa, closely matching virgin properties. The mechanical performance of RGs was sufficient for filament production in 3D printing, demonstrating a feasible approach toward sustainable circular economy applications.
Read moreICT Integration for Pre-Service Teachers: A Scopus-Based Bibliometric Review (1997–2024)
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is increasingly developed and widely applied in education. Accordingly, teacher-training schools are continually improving pre-service teachers' ICT capacity. However, studies on ICT integration for pre-service teachers are still scattered. In this article, the author conducts a comprehensive systematic review of studies on ICT integration for pre-service teachers using bibliometric analysis techniques. Data from the Scopus database comprising 415 studies were analyzed using VOSviewer and Biblioshiny. In addition, the research designs used in the 10 most-cited articles were analyzed. The research results show that the first studies in this field appeared in 1997, but the number of publications has increased rapidly since 2018. Australia, Turkey, and Spain are the most influential countries in this field, while scholars from Belgium, Finland, and Singapore are among the most productive authors. The authors tend to publish in sources that are not highly ranked in Scopus. Research topics related to ICT integration of pre-service teachers can be classified into three main trends, including the use of ICT tools in higher education institutions under the impact of COVID-19, ICT integration models for professional development in teacher education, and research assessing the understanding and capacity of ICT integration and digital transformation of pre-service teachers at universities. This study analyzed the research trends on ICT integration of pre-service teachers to closely monitor the rapid development of this research area.

The inclusion of people with disabilities in COVID-19 preventive measures: Qualitative research from Vietnam.
The COVID-19 pandemic has posed unique challenges for people with disabilities, highlighting significant structural disparities in access to essential health information and services. In Vietnam, these challenges are pronounced, necessitating an investigation into the experiences of people with disabilities during the pandemic. This study aimed to investigate the experiences of people with disabilities in three major cities in Vietnam in accessing COVID-19 information and adhering to preventive measures. In-depth interviews were conducted with 23 adults with disabilities from Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City. Participants were purposively selected from government registers based on age, gender, residence location, and disability type. Data were analysed thematically. Respondents revealed significant barriers to accessing information on COVID-19 prevention. Key issues included the use of technical language, combined with low literacy among respondents, poor access to assistive and information-communication technology, and lack of accessible information formats or unsuitable adaptations. Difficulties in implementing preventive measures and heightened anxiety were common among participants, leading some to be unable to adequately protect themselves, while others undertook additional, unconventional measures. This research emphasizes the urgency of redefining disability inclusion in public health responses, particularly during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic. Tailored guidance and resources are essential to address the unique challenges faced by people with disabilities to ensure equitable health outcomes.
