The project talks about a capital budgeting and its methods including discounted cash flow, payback, and throughput analyses. The process involves analyzing a project’s cash inflows and outflows to determine whether the expected return meets a set benchmark, we are going to talk about how capital budgeting is also important for small and big companies to evaluate major projects and investments, such as new plants or equipment. In the present scenario the efficient allocation of capital resources is a most important function of project management. This function involves firm’s decision to invest its funds in long-term assets like plant, machinery land, building, equipment etc. These assets are extremely important to the firm because the organizational profits are derived from the use of its capital investment in assets which represent a long-term commitment of funds. The future development of an enterprise depends on the capital investment projects. These projects may be the replacement of existing capital assets which turns out to be less attractive to the firm or expansion of business for implementing new ideas and planning. Thus, long term investment decisions of an enterprise fall within the definition of project budgeting or capital expenditure decisions. These decisions are concerned with the acquisition of assets in which funds will be invested by an enterprise. The assets of business include long term assets and short-term assets. Long term assets will yield a return over a period of time whereas short term assets are those assets which are easily convertible into cash within one accounting period, normally a year. The long-term investment decision is known as project budgeting/capital budgeting and the short-term investment decision are identified as working capital management.

Evidence-based applications of resources remain one of the greatest challenges faced by governments, businesses, and policymakers. The United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) evaluated ten large programs, which together cost more than $10 billion/year, through randomised control trials – the highest standard of evidence-based practice (EBP). The evaluation found that nine of them had ‘weak or no positive effects’ on their participants. Many programs were not evaluated at all. In January 2019, U.S. President signed the ‘Foundations for Evidence-based Policy Making Act’ into law. A USAID (US Agency for International Development) study looked at 43 blockchain projects and companies claiming to have solved various problems using distributed ledgers. The study found that almost no company was willing to share their results and MERL (monitoring, evaluation, research and learning) processes. Other observational data revealed that 80–90% of blockchain-based token offering projects failed to deliver on their promises, a prediction also made by Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum blockchain, in 2017. The concept of evidence-based blockchain (EBB) was first introduced by Naqvi in 2018. We conducted an evaluation of 517 blockchain firms against PCIO framework of evidence-based practice: Problem – Comparison – Intervention and Outcomes. We define the fundamentals of EBB (Ask, Acquire, Appraise, Apply, Assess), provide a review of the literature on EBB, report findings of our study and propose an Assessment Framework of Evidence Based Blockchain.

Human resources constitute the most valuable asset in the perspective of development in every organization. The study of human resource management practices has been an important and critical area in management and organizational performance from last several years especially in the banking industry. Human resource management (HRM) has emerged as a major function in organizations. HRM is the organizational function that deals with issues related to people such as, hiring, performance management, organization development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration and training. The purpose of this study is to identify the need of human resource practices in bank as well as to know the human resource development programmes in banks, to know the working conditions in banks and to identify the contribution human resource practices towards improving the efficiency of bank employees in public sector banks. The study was conducted on the HRM practices in public sector banking in Tirunelveli District. The data collected from primary and secondary sources. Further, data to be classified, tabulated and interpreted to arrive at a meaningful and suitable results. And to give the recommendations for needful action to be taken by the authorities.
