RETRACTED: Optimization using <scp>Internet of Agent</scp> based <scp>Stacked Sparse Autoencoder</scp> Model for Heart Disease Prediction
Abstract Recently, machine learning methods have been successfully used for the prediction of cardiovascular disease. Early diagnosis and prediction is necessary for giving effective treatment to avoid higher mortality rates. Several classification algorithms have been developed recently which satisfy the need, but show limited accuracy while predicting the heart disease. Hence, the focus of this study is on early prediction of heart disease and to improve the accuracy of prediction using benchmark heart disease datasets such as UCI Cleveland dataset and Heart disease clinical dataset by implementing effective classification and optimization algorithms. Optimization algorithms generally exhibit the benefit of dealing with complex non‐linear issues with better adaptability and flexibility. The Emperor penguin optimization algorithm, which can select the best features for classification has been utilized in this study to improve the efficiency, minimize reconstruction errors, and increase the quality of heart disease classification. Further, the newly developed stacked sparse convolutional neural network based auto encoder (SSC‐AE) classification algorithm has been employed for significant feature classification with higher robustness and efficacy. Accuracy, Area Under Curve (AUC), and F1 score are some of the measures used to compare the outcomes of several machine learning algorithms to those of the proposed model in this study. The results show that the proposed model, SSC‐AE, is superior to other classification models.

The religious traditions of the Mari people viewed through the camera lens: Field work conducted by Tiia Peedumäe in the Mari El Republic in 1991–1992 The Estonian National Museum began acquiring photographic materials back in the early 20th century when pioneering Estonian photographer Johannes Pääsuke travelled around Estonia with a homemade camera documenting the way people lived. In the 1960s, ethnographic films became one of the main areas of the museum’s activity and the geography of fieldwork also expanded significantly. Efforts were made to commit to film the traditional culture of Estonians and other Finno-Ugric peoples. In the 1990s, modernity shifted into the focus, supplanting the older and fading culture. Technological advances, and above all the introduction of the video camera significantly changed the methodology used to acquire material. The new cameras were lighter and more mobile, with a larger recording capacity and this allowed much more material to be documented. The article analyses filming during field work aimed at investigating and documenting religious rituals – in particular, footage produced by Tiia Peedumäe and her collaborator, the camera operator Jaan Treial, in 1991 and 1992. The fieldwork diaries and video footage are used to trace how the researchers adapted to the community they were studying, and looks at the role of intermediaries in this process. Tiia Peedumäe’s expeditions coincided with a time of great changes in ethnography and ethnology. Peedumäe represents a generation of researchers who learned how to conduct fieldwork in the spirit of Soviet-era ethnography and later expanded their methodology as the research focus changed. During the autumn 1991 expedition, Peedumäe and Treial recorded the Maris’ first nationwide sacrificial feast in the village of Olori (Paranga Raion). They returned to the same village in June 1992, this time to study the spring sacrificial feast Aga-Pairem and a feast of remembrance of the dead, Semyk. The improved recording made some aspects easier for ethnologists although the work still required the ability to interact with the community. It is particularly important that there is trust between the people perpetuating a tradition and the cultural researchers. On the first occasion that Peedumäe and her colleagues went to record a worship ceremony with a video camera, they had difficulties getting consent from the villagers. The previous understanding reached with Mari activists living in Yoshkar-Ola – who were prepared to assist in the filming – was seen as inadequate in the sacrificial grove. Everything depended on the village elders who led the prayer service. Thanks to Peedumäe explaining how important scientific study was and the authority of the leaders of the Maris’ religious reawakening movement, ultimately permission was obtained for photographing and filming, although the researchers still were not given access to some phases of the ritual. A second expedition to the same village allowed the researchers to become more deeply immersed in the local culture. A few locals served as intermediaries between researchers and the community on that occasion. Thanks to the acquaintances already forged, more trust was evinced toward the ethnologists. Observation and recording of the rites of spring went off without a hitch. The ethnologists did not witness the preparation and course of the ritual of remembrance of family ancestors as mere observers – the family involved them in the ritual as if they were distant relatives or house guests. The video materials recorded on Peedumäe’s expeditions are one of the most complete documents of the revival of Mari religious traditions. Along with the fieldwork diary, they are valuable sources for studying the methodology of fieldwork and in particular, ritual filming practices. When the participant observation method is used, intermediaries between ethnologists and the community play a key role in the process of adaptation to the community being studied. The examples of collection of visual materials examined in the article demonstrate the importance of long-running and repeated fieldwork. Such fieldwork makes it possible to develop more trusting relations with cultural subjects and thereby access more private cultural strata.

Abstract P149: A Large-scale Multi Ethnic Study of a Direct Measure of Insulin Sensitivity Demonstrates That South Asians are the Most Insulin Resistant Ethnic Group in the US
Introduction: Insulin resistance (IR) is a known risk factor for heart disease. Few studies have compared race/ethnic differences in IR using ‘gold standard’ direct measures of insulin sensitivity. Methods: A total of 892 non-diabetic subjects (548 White, 106 South Asian, 103 East Asian, 86 Hispanic and 49 Black) underwent a 4-hour insulin suppression test (IST) as a part of various IR related studies at Stanford over the last ∼20 years. We used generalized estimating equations assuming an exchangeable correlation structure to determine the association between race/ethnicity and steady state plasma glucose (SSPG) derived from an IST, accounting for correlation of outcomes among subjects from the same study. We similarly determined whether differences in plasma triglyceride (TG) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels among race/ethnic groups could be explained by differences in SSPG. All analyses were adjusted for age, sex, and BMI. Results: Significant differences among the race/ethnic groups in SSPG were observed (p <0.001). South Asians were the most insulin resistant group with a mean increase in SSPG of 38 mg/dL, compared to whites after controlling for age, sex, and BMI, a difference equivalent to ∼1/2 of the standard deviation of SSPG. East Asians were the next most resistant group (mean +33 mg/dl SSPG compared to whites) followed by Hispanics (+20 mg/dl), Whites, and Blacks (−7 mg/dl). South Asians were the only group with significantly higher TG (mean +1.16 fold, p=0.04) and lower HDL (−3.0 mg/dl, p=0.02) levels compared to whites but these differences were no longer evident after controlling for SSPG. In contrast, Blacks had significantly lower TG (mean 0.8 fold, p = 0.006) compared to whites, but this difference was not at all mitigated after adjusting for SSPG. Blacks also had no significant differences in HDL compared to whites. Conclusions: Direct measures of insulin sensitivity suggest that South Asians are the most insulin resistant race/ethnic group in the US even after adjusting for the principal determinants of IR. IR may be largely responsible for differences in TG and HDL observed between South Asian and other race/ethnic groups. The etiologies behind differences in insulin sensitivity across race/ethnic groups remain to be determined.

Read moreMultiline Zeeman Signatures Through Line Addition
In order to get a significant Zeeman signature in the polarised spectra of a magnetic star, we usually 'add' the contributions of numerous spectral lines; the ultimate goal is to recover the spectropolarimetric prints of the magnetic field in these line additions. Here we want to clarify the meaning of these techniques of line addition; in particular, we try to interpret the meaning of the 'pseudo-line' formed during this process and to find out why and how its Zeeman signature is still meaningful. We create a synthetic case of line addition and apply well tested standard solar methods routinely used in the research on magnetism in our nearest star. The results are convincing and the Zeeman signatures well detected; Solar methods are found to be quite efficient also for stellar observations. We statistically compare line addition with least-squares deconvolution and demonstrate that they both give very similar results as a consequence of the special statistical properties of the weights. The Zeeman signatures are unequivocally detected in this multiline approach. We may anticipate the outcome that magnetic field detection is reliable well beyond the weak-field approximation. Linear polarisation in the spectra of solar type stars can be detected when the spectral resolution is sufficiently high.
