Abstract This article proposes a low‐profile ultra‐wideband (UWB) antenna for breast tumor detection using the monostatic radar‐based microwave imaging (RBMI) technique. The proposed UWB antenna consists of a circular patch and ground plane along with a modified tapered feed line having a total size of 13 × 9 × 1.6 mm3. The designed antenna operates from 4 to 11 GHz based on a −10 dB reflection coefficient with a peak gain of 9.5 dBi at 4.8 GHz. Experimental validation is carried out after fabricating the prototype of the UWB antenna and the breast mimic. The measured backscattered signals are captured using the vector network analyzer (E‐5063A) by keeping the antenna at 10 mm from the breast phantom. After that, post‐processing of the measured data is done to detect the exact depth and location of the malignant tissue. The proposed antenna uses UWB band frequency of operation because it has some unique features, that is, it provides immunity to multipath fading, has a simple design, has a low cost of fabrication, and has biological friendliness. Moreover, due to the proposed antenna's resonance at a lower resonant frequency better depth of penetration is achieved in human body phantoms and the proposed antenna provides specific absorption rates (SAR) of 0.877 W/kg over 1 g of tissue at 4.8 GHz, which is an acceptable limit for SAR as per FCC guidelines. Therefore, the proposed antenna and monostatic RBMI technique are good candidates for breast tumor detection.

In this article the performance study of mustard oil bio-diesel blended with commercially available diesel has been conducted on the single cylinder engine. The bio-diesel was extracted from the mustard oil by transesterification process. The percentage yield of the biodiesel was ≈82%. The extracted bio-diesel was blended with commercially available diesel in different fractions for the study. The performance study and emission analysis were calculated on single cylinder four stroke diesel engine. According to analysis brake specific energy consumption there was decreasedand there is slight increase in brake thermal efficiency. The exhaust analysis showed that there was considerable drop in the engine emission like carbon dioxide, carbon mono oxide and hydrocarbons, resulting in lower smoke opacity. The oxides of nitrogen were present at a higher percentage in the engine emissions when the bio-diesel blend was used.

Since the early days of SEPA there has been a desire to expand its remit to e-invoicing. It hasn't happened, but e-invoicing is the only way that banks can make money out of SEPA. This chapter is based on the author's experience of establishing and marketing e-invoicing as a part of the payment services and e-banking in Nordea, starting from Finland and Sweden in close co-operation with TietoEnator, where he now works, and later to Norway and Denmark. Seeing that this should be a part of the European and global payment system, he has participated in many discussions and working groups also in Europe with the Commission and the European central bank. The main conclusion is that only the complete SEPA will bring the needed business case for e-invoicing. The complete SEPA includes common open standards for payments linking into e-invoices and other commercial documents to and from both enterprises and consumers. If SEPA stops at purely consolidating payment clearing, then very little value will be created for enterprises. Luckily there is now a strong consensus that this will not be allowed to happen.

Knowledge management plays an important role in customer support processes such as incident management and problem management. Knowledge-oriented approach on customer support provides an IT organization with several benefits including faster incident resolution times and better identification of systematic incidents. Unfortunately, little attention has focused on examining challenges in customer support from the knowledge management perspective. In this study, the research question is: what kind of knowledge management challenges can arise in customer support. A case study method was used as a research method. Several knowledge management-related challenges were found, such as challenges in documenting incident resolutions and classifying incidents, a lack of public knowledge base and the missing knowledge flow for urgent incidents.

Both Academia and Industry have intensified their efforts to realize the potential of Service Oriented Computing and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). There are many obstacles yet to overcome in the com-mercial adoption, design and implementation of SOA. This workshop seeks insight from academia and industry to de-scribe the problems encountered and formulate theoretical and propose practical solutions for their resolution from industry and academia perspectives. This workshop is a continuation of a highly successful series of workshops at OOPSLA 2007, OOPSLA 2006, OOPSLA 2005, OOPSLA 2004 and OOPSLA 2003.

Mitigating the effects of head-of-line blocking (HoLB) was one of the major reasons the IETF SIGTRAN working group developed SCTP, a new transport protocol for PSTN signaling traffic, in the first place. However, studies of the impact of HoLB blocking on TCP and SCTP have given ambiguous results as to whether HoLB has, in fact, any significantly deteriorating effect on transmission delay. To this end, we have carried out a detailed experimental study on the quantitative effects of HoLB. Our study suggests that although HoLB could indeed incur a substantial delay penalty on a small fraction of the messages in an SCTP session, it has only a marginal impact on the average end-to-end transmission delay. We only observed improvements in the range of O% to 18% in average message transmission delay of using unordered delivery as compared to ordered delivery. Furthermore, there was a large variability in between different test runs, which often made the impact of HoLB statistically insignificant
