Aims: The aim of this study was to perform a retrospective case series analysis to review the clinical outcomes seen through standard of care (SOC) supplemented with a full-thickness placental tissue allograft in treating four patients with non-healing lower extremity wounds (including venous leg ulcers (VLUs), non-pressure/traumatic wounds, and pressure injuries (PIs)). Methods: Data were ascertained from a community-based mobile wound center in Cleveland, Ohio, USA (Healix Wound Care). CompleteFT was applied to non-pressure/traumatic injuries (n=3), VLUs (n=3) and PIs (n=1). Changes in wound size, wound bed, and other clinical parameters were recorded and assessed. Results: Of the seven wounds evaluated (with sizes varying from 2 to 440cm2) for the four patients included in this case series, four wounds healed as early as 2-weeks post CompleteFT application and three wounds saw an attenuation in percent wound surface area as early as 2-weeks post CompleteFT application. Conclusion: The empirical data from this case series demonstrates the clinical utility of using full-thickness placental tissue allograft on non-healing, chronic lower extremity wounds based on progress toward healing through regular excisional sharp debridement plus the application of a full-thickness placental tissue allograft, supplemented with secondary wound dressing coverage in these four cases.
