Resumen La observación de la economía china es hoy día uno de los ejercicios académicos más interesantes y desafiantes. No es solo una de las economías más dinámicas a nivel global en la actualidad sino una en la que reforma y apertura han estado impulsando un permanente proceso de modernización por poco más de cuarenta años pasando de una economía atrasada y esencialmente agrícola a una sociedad post industrial inmersa en la creación y adopción de nuevas fuerzas productivas sustentadas en tecnologías de alta gama. Ciertamente, siendo una de las principales economías en ganarse un espacio relevante en el ranking global de desarrollo China sorprende al mundo. Como toda economía, en cualquier momento, la economía de China enfrenta constricciones y retos expuestos en este trabajo junto al ambicioso plan de desarrollo que este año concluye con la ejecución del XIV Plan Quinquenal (2021–2025) así como el impulso al trabajo de diseño del XV Plan Quinquenal (2026–2030).

The work aims to apply cheap and widely accessible tools based on artificial intelligence to analyze, group, and categorize a large amount of available research literature (from a massive bibliographic search) on the use of Lemna minor for animal feed, not only comprehensively and objectively, but also in a more effective and less time-consuming way. In addition, a comprehensive and critical summary was conducted to highlight recent applications of L. minor in animal feed. The Scopus database was used for the original bibliographic search. Then, a newly developed online and freely available tool called “Jupyter Notebook on Google Colab” was applied to cluster the large volume of bibliographic data (1432 papers) obtained in the basic search, which allowed their reduction until only 148 papers. These papers were reviewed in a traditional way obtaining relevant information about L. minor production, nutritional value, composition, and its application as animal feed. In this sense, the most successful applications were for fish and poultry feeding, reaching levels of inclusion of 15–20% in fish and 5–15% in poultry. It is of great interest because of the expected increase in prices of conventional sources of protein for animal feed.

Context: A clinical study was conducted in a cohort of human subjects from 60 to 75 years of age in order to assess the correlation between disease diagnosis and oxidative stress (OS) damage in diabetes mellitus (DM) and arterial hypertension (AHT). Aims: To provide a sound basis to design a clinical protocol for antioxidant adjuvant therapy for DM and AHT. Methods: The values of the OS index were determined from the experimental values of biomarkers in erythrocyte lysates obtained from human blood samples including total antioxidant levels, specific biomarkers of oxidative damage, and antioxidant enzyme activities. Three study groups were formed: Group I: DM patients (110 subjects), group II: AHT patients (112 subjects); and Control group: Healthy volunteers (123 subjects). The data of all groups were analyzed using SPSS 9.0 software. A nonparametric Friedman test was used to compare several related subgroups, and changes within the groups and subgroups were tested using the Wilcoxon paired test. A Mann-Whitney U test was used to estimate significant differences (p<0.05) between the subgroups. Results: Severe OS was observed in subgroup IIc (AHT III), moderate OS was observed in subgroups Ib (DM II) and IIb (AHT II), mild OS was observed in subgroup Ia (DM I), and no OS was observed in subgroup IIa (AHT I). Conclusions: The results support the possible design of clinical trial protocols for adjuvant antioxidant therapy in order to increase the efficacy of standard therapies for AHT II and III and for DM II. Antioxidant therapies for DM I and AHT I are not recommended due to the presence of only mild OS or no OS, respectively.
