Background: Perineal wounds following childbirth are common, particularly among women who experience vaginal or perineal tears. When healing is delayed, these wounds may lead to serious postpartum complications, including infection, bleeding, and increased maternal morbidity. Kegel exercises are widely recognized as a simple, non-pharmacological intervention that strengthens pelvic floor muscles and may support the healing process of perineal wounds. However, limited attention has been given to postpartum mothers’ personal experiences in performing these exercises during the recovery period. Purpose: To explore postpartum mothers’ experiences in practicing Kegel exercises as part of perineal wound healing at the Gadingrejo Community Health Center. Method: A qualitative study with a phenomenological approach was employed to capture mothers’ lived experiences. Participants were selected through purposive sampling, involving eight postpartum mothers who met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observation. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify recurring patterns and meanings related to the implementation of Kegel exercises. Results: The findings revealed five main themes: (1) timing of Kegel exercise initiation, (2) initial physical complaints after childbirth, (3) perceived benefits of the exercises, (4) vaginal care practices, and (5) dietary patterns during the postpartum period. Observations of wound healing using the REEDA assessment showed a gradual improvement from day one to day seven. Initially, most participants demonstrated poor wound healing characteristics, which progressed to good wound healing by the end of the observation period. Conclusion: Postpartum mothers who practiced Kegel exercises experienced better perineal wound healing compared to their initial condition. These findings suggest that Kegel exercises may contribute to accelerating the perineal wound healing process. In addition, proper vaginal care and adequate nutritional intake appear to play supportive roles in promoting recovery among postpartum women.

In Indonesia in 2020, there were 28,158 infant deaths, of which 20,266 (72%) occurred during the neonatal period. Among these neonatal deaths, 27.4% were caused by neonatal asphyxia. In West Kalimantan Province, there were 682 neonatal deaths recorded in 2023. The leading causes of neonatal mortality in 2023 were Low Birth Weight (LBW) and prematurity (32%), followed by asphyxia (24%). Based on the 2023 Sintang Regency health profile, the infant mortality rate was 9.6 per 1,000 live births. This study aimed to determine the relationship between LBW and the incidence of neonatal asphyxia. The research used an analytical observational approach with a cross-sectional design. The study was conducted at Ade M. Djoen Sintang Regional Hospital from January to December 2023 using secondary data. The population consisted of all newborns at Ade M. Djoen Sintang Regional Hospital, totaling 104 infants. A total sampling technique was applied, resulting in a sample size of 104 respondents. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The Chi-square analysis produced a p-value of 0.0241 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant relationship between Low Birth Weight (LBW) and neonatal asphyxia. The Odds Ratio (OR) of 4.021 shows that LBW infants have a 4.021-fold higher risk of experiencing neonatal asphyxia compared to infants with normal birth weight.

The ability to write scientific papers is an essential competency for students in supporting academic achievement and readiness to face the world of work and research. However, many students still experience difficulties in compiling scientific papers, especially in the aspects of writing systematics, the use of academic language, and reference management. In response to this problem, the service team carried out a Scientific Writing Preparation Training for PASIM National University students as a form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in the aspect of community service. The training method uses an andragogy approach through interactive lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice. The activity was attended by around 50 students across study programs. The training material includes an introduction to scientific papers, writing rules, topic determination techniques, reference search and management, and outline preparation. Evaluation was carried out through observation, assessment of written products, and satisfaction questionnaires. The results showed an increase in participants' understanding by 30–40% based on the comparison of pre-test and post-test. All participants succeeded in compiling an outline of scientific papers, and the majority expressed satisfaction with the training. This activity has proven to be effective in improving students' scientific writing skills and fostering academic motivation and culture. It is recommended that similar training be carried out on an ongoing basis with intensive mentoring to support the improvement of the quality of human resources and contribution to student scientific publications.

Advertisements have been an integral part of social culture, acting as a means to showcase brands and connect with consumers. This article intends to examine the speech acts that can generate meaning and have a persuasive impact by comparing the advertisements for Teh Kotak and Teh Botol Sosro. The focus of the study is on the locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary aspects of speech act theory. By analysing these three communication levels, the research aims to understand how representative speech acts relate to the literal message, its purpose, and its effect on the audience. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the study finds that while locutionary acts are essential for delivering product information, it is the illocutionary and perlocutionary acts that play a more significant role in influencing consumer choices and building emotional ties to the brand. This analysis underscores the importance of language in tea advertisements and provides insights into how speech acts can engage and persuade viewers.
