This study aimed to evaluate the quality of milk produced by Peranakan Friesian Holstein (PFH) cows at Moosa Edufarm, Solok Regency, West Sumatra. Six fresh milk samples from cows at different lactation stages were analyzed for the boiling test (protein stability), total solids (TS), solid nonfat (SNF), protein content, and lactose content. TS and SNF were measured using the gravimetric method, while protein and lactose were analyzed using a Lactoscan device. The results indicated that all milk samples were negative for coagulation in the boiling test, indicating casein stability and freshness. The average TS content was 18.95 ± 4.37% and SNF was 14.45 ± 3.76%, both exceeding the minimum standards set by the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 3141.1-2011). The average protein content was 2.84 ± 0.14%, with the SNI minimum standard of 2.8%. The average lactose content was 4.25 ± 0.21%, within the normal range according to the literature. Variation in results among samples was influenced by feeding regime, lactation stage, cow health, age and post-milking handling. Overall, the milk produced met national quality standards and was suitable for direct consumption and processing into dairy products.

This study investigates the role of village governance as a key driver for Environmental Conservation Efforts (ECE), with a focus on resource-dependent regions like Bangka Belitung Province. Data from the 2021 Indonesian Village Potential Census (Podes) identified 34 variables related to governance, village assets, and environmental policies. Using bivariate analysis and logistic regression, the research finds that inter-village cooperation, village financial systems, and governance mechanisms are strongly associated with successful ECE outcomes. Specifically, inter-village cooperation was found to increase the likelihood of engaging in conservation activities (AOR: 3.26; 95% CI: 1.47–7.24). However, challenges such as the limited use of open public spaces and insufficient policy integration were also identified. The study underscores the importance of robust governance frameworks in fostering sustainable environmental practices and mitigating such challenges. Despite the limitations of cross-sectional data, this research provides valuable insights for policymakers, emphasizing the need for integrated governance and community-based initiatives to improve conservation efforts. These findings offer a replicable model for environmental conservation strategies in regions under pressure from resource exploitation.

The former mining site in Lubuk Alung Village, Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra, covering 7 hectares, presents significant environmental degradation characterized by water-logged pits, absence of topsoil, and sparse shrub vegetation. This study employed qualitative descriptive analysis conducted from September to November 2020, utilizing direct field observations, stakeholder interviews with six community members, village officials, and the Provincial Environmental Agency, supplemented by spatial data analysis including topographic maps, aerial photography, digital elevation models, and climatological data. The landscape design approach followed Gold's systematic planning process encompassing preparation, inventory, analysis, synthesis, conceptualization, and design phases. The recovery plan integrates nature-based solutions optimizing wetland-specific flora and fauna, creating a multifunctional landscape divided into buffer zones, cultivation areas, agricultural plots, development zones, and wetland-outbound tourism spaces. The design incorporates community-based tourism concepts featuring fish farming, agriculture, culinary experiences, West Sumatran handicrafts, and wetland recreational activities, supported by facilities including floating fish cages, agricultural demonstration plots, traditional pavilions, viewing decks, and outbound installations. The circulation system combines linear and radial pedestrian pathways using gravel and paving blocks, connecting key activity nodes. Conclusion: This landscape restoration framework demonstrates how degraded mining land can be transformed into productive, ecologically sound, and economically beneficial community assets, contributing to environmental conservation, food security enhancement through integrated aquaculture-agriculture systems, and local economic empowerment through participatory tourism management.

This study aims to analyze market opportunities and formulate development strategies for rice commodities in Krajan Village, Gatak District, Sukoharjo Regency, in response to persistent challenges faced by rice farmers and agribusiness actors, including price volatility, limited market access, and weak downstream management. The research adopts a qualitative approach with a case study design to obtain an in-depth and contextual understanding of local rice agribusiness dynamics. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, field observations, and documentation, involving rice farmers, small and medium-sized rice milling enterprises, and rice traders selected using purposive and snowball sampling techniques. The data were analyzed using SWOT analysis to identify internal strengths and weaknesses as well as external opportunities and threats, and further integrated with the Business Model Canvas (BMC) to examine value creation, delivery, and capture mechanisms. The findings reveal that the rice market in Krajan Village is dominated by household consumers, supported by non-household and market consumers, indicating stable demand across socio-economic groups. However, significant fluctuations in grain and rice prices highlight farmers’ vulnerability to market instability. The SWOT analysis positions rice agribusiness in Quadrant I, suggesting strong internal capacity and favorable external opportunities, which support the adoption of growth-oriented strategies. Key strategic themes include productivity improvement, quality maintenance, partnership strengthening, market expansion, and enhancement of milling efficiency.

This study examines the implementation of smart governance in Palembang City, Indonesia, as a strategic approach to bureaucratic reform. Utilizing Boyd Cohen’s (2013) Smart Governance framework encompassing policy enablement, transparency, and information and communication technology (ICT) integration, the research employs qualitative methods, including interviews, document analysis, and SWOT analysis, to evaluate progress and challenges. Findings reveal that Palembang has made major improvements to its digital transformation, evidenced by initiatives like integrated e-government services (e.g., the SIDEMANG app), open data portals, and cross-sector collaboration. Key strengths include strong political commitment, ICT infrastructure, and public service innovations such as the Mall Pelayanan Publik. However, challenges persist, including digital literacy gaps, uneven internet access, resistance to change among bureaucrats, and cybersecurity risks. The study highlights three critical success factors: First, Policy alignment (local regulations like Perwali No. 25/2023 harmonized with national Smart City agendas); Second stakeholder engagement (public–private academic partnerships); and Third technology adoption (e-governance platforms). Recommendations include expanding digital infrastructure to peripheral areas, intensifying capacity-building for civil servants, and implementing a cybersecurity framework. The research underscores the need for holistic strategies to address socio-technical barriers and ensure inclusive, sustainable smart governance.

The international Community Partnership Program (PKM) is an effort to enhance globally competitive campus entrepreneurship. The purpose of this community service program is to discuss the international PKM model based on cooperative collaboration in the ASEAN region, with a focus on the exchange of best practices, cooperative digitalization, and the development of student entrepreneurship-based business units. Activities were carried out through literature studies, field observations at partner cooperatives in Malaysia (ANGKASA), and capacity building workshops for university cooperative managers. The results indicate that cross-border collaboration can strengthen cooperative business networks, encourage the emergence of adaptive campus entrepreneurship models, and expand market access for student products. This article offers a framework for the international PKM model that can be replicated at other universities in Indonesia to accelerate the internationalization of campus cooperatives. This approach not only improves student business literacy but also expands business networks and innovation across countries. The research used a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach on collaboration between student cooperatives in Indonesia and Malaysia. The results indicate that cross-border collaboration in the form of joint entrepreneurship training, business incubation, and the transfer of digital cooperative practices has a significant impact on increasing student entrepreneurial interest and capacity. This model is recommended as a leading PKM program integrated with the Independent Learning and Independent Campus (MBKM) policy and the ASEAN economic integration agenda.
