The article is devoted to a philosophical analysis of the activities of the International Council for the Organiza-tion of Folklore Festivals and Folk Art (CIOFF) as a key institution for the preservation of intangible cultural her-itage in the era of globalization. The historical, social and cultural prerequisites for the emergence of CIOFF are being investigated. Based on the analysis of the organization and holding of international folklore festivals, including the World Folklore Olympiad, CIOFF’s role in maintaining cultural diversity and shaping cultural identi-ty is considered. Special attention is paid to the philosophical problem of the relationship between authenticity and adaptation of folklore in the modern cultural space, as well as the potential social and cultural risks of the organization’s activities. The article substantiates that CIOFF’s activities go beyond the narrow organizational function and acquire the importance of an important factor of cultural security and inter-civilizational dialogue. It is concluded that the organization is facing new challenges today related to the integration of folklore tradition into current cultural processes and countering unification.

We take a look at Gogol’s correspondence with Vielgorsky sisters that concerns his aid in their botanical endeavors. We specify the character of the writer’s relationship with Anna Vielgorskaya, as his marriage proposal to her became a point of controversy among Gogol’s biographers. We point that for Anna, botanical studies were a means of studying Russia as she strived to “to become Russian in soul and not merely in name”. We trace the connection of Gogol’s botanical texts of 1840s–1850s to his work on the second volume of “Dead Souls” and a Russian Geography for the youth.

Colonel General Nikolai E. Berzarin, Hero of the Soviet Union, was the first Soviet Commandant of Berlin and the Chief of Berlin Garrison (April – June 1945). Yet, his biography remains an understudied issue in the Russian historiography. The author applied historical-genetic, historical-biographical, and historical interpretation methods to a wide range of archival documents, memoirs, and periodicals to reveal the transformations in the collective historical memory about Colonel General N. E. Bersarin in Russia and Germany. It mostly mirrored the changes in ideology, state policy, and availability of verified historical data. In Germany, his name entered the list of Honorary Citizens of Berlin in 1975 and 1992, due to the steps taken by the Senate and society. In Russia, a street of his name appeared in Stalingrad as early as in 1956, i.e., long before it appeared in Moscow and St. Petersburg. In general, the preservation of the memory about N. E. Bersarin reflects the social demands in German and Russia.

BACKGROUND: Today, the effective recruitment and selection of personnel based on the position profile is actively studied, including the personality traits of a healthcare provider. In non-medical (aviation or aerospace) sectors requiring high skills, the importance of personality analysis has already been recognized, which is confirmed by the use of the five-factor personality model as a tool for selecting candidates and interns by human resources departments. To improve the recruitment and selection process for healthcare providers, it is required to study the personality traits of doctors and their impact on professional medical activities. AIM: To study the five-factor personality model of primary care physicians as an element of medical position profiling in the State Healthcare Institution Outpatient Clinic No. 2. METHODS: The personality traits of primary care physicians were studied using a five-factor personality questionnaire. The study included healthcare providers who met the eligibility, inclusion and exclusion criteria of the State Healthcare Institution Outpatient Clinic No. 2 (Volgograd). The online questionnaire on the Yandex Forms platform included 75 questions. The responses were analyzed using specific keys. The degree of each Big Five factor was assessed. Statistical processing was performed using descriptive statistics methods and a trial version of the StatGraphics software suite. RESULTS: The survey showed the predominance of attachment/separation and control/authenticity factors with the highest scores of 53.69 ± 2.59 (95% CI) and 54.46 ± 2.94 (95% CI), respectively. The expressiveness/pragmatism factor followed them with the score of 47.48 ± 2.49 (95% CI). Emotivity/self-control and extraversion/introversion showed lower scores of 43.46 ± 3.07 (95% CI) and 44.28 ± 3.18 (95% CI), respectively. CONCLUSION: The study indicates the predominance of attachment/separation and control/authenticity factors, indicating high responsibility, desire for personal growth, kindness, and sociability. The five-factor personality analysis has proven its effectiveness and convenience as a tool for determining the personality traits of healthcare providers.

INTRODUCTION. The aim of the work is to study the functional aspect of regional oikonymy (names of settlements) in the works of writers of the Volgograd region.MATERIALS AND METHODS. The main research methods are descriptive and analytical, represented by a combination of the following techniques: observation, comparison, generalization, commenting and interpretation of empirical material, and aspectual, represented by functional and contextual analyses. The research material was the author’s file of regional oikonyms (a total of 120), extracted from specific texts by B.P. Ekimov, S.N. Sinyakin, A.I. Egin and some other authors.RESULTS AND DISCUSSION. The concept of the oikonymic dominant of a literary text is proposed, and the conditions that influence the acquisition of dominant status by an oikonymic unit are described. This concept appears to have a conceptual value in the study of a local text (in our case, the triad “Tsaritsyn – Stalingrad – Volgograd”) and in the functional analysis of proper names. It is established that many oikonyms of the Stalingrad text perform localizing and identifying functions, some – plot-forming and semantic. Special attention is givento the analysis of oikonymy in the works of B.P. Ekimov, showcasing the toponymic diversity and nominative variability of geographical names. A characteristic feature of many of his works is the paragraph-long accumulation of oikonyms associated with the realization of motives of loneliness, memory, desolation or disappearance. Oikonyms in his prose are capable of fulfilling mnemonic, emotional-evaluative and didactic functions.CONCLUSION. Works by regional authors, who focus on the onomasticon of their homeland when creating the space of the artistic world, sometimes preserve vanished (having undergone any territorial and administrative changes) toponyms, variants of names (official/ unofficial) of the settlement and its inhabitants, not recorded by specialized dictionaries, include versions of the origin of the name, often folk etymological. For toponymic lexicography, such texts are traditionally of interest. For literary toponymics, the study of the poetics of regional oikonyms against the background of the poetics of non-regional ones is an important task in understanding the writer’s onomastic laboratory. The prospects of the study are related to the further refinement of the concept of “oikonymic dominant”, which is potentially capable of replenishing the terminological system of literary onomastics.

The possibility of a plane solitary electromagnetic wave propagating in the plane of a square two-dimensional graphene-based superlattice at different angles to its axes is investigated. A nonlinear equation describing the vector potential of a solitary electromagnetic wave is obtained for a case of weak nonadditivity of the energy spectrum of carriers in a collisionless approximation. It is shown that plane solitary waves can propagate either along the superlattice axes or at an angle of 45° to them.

The procedures for designing advanced training courses as a pedagogical object are highlighted. The objectives, content, and control of advanced training courses for teachers of mathematics and physics, as well as models of educational organization, are described. Examples are given of the procedures developed at Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University for the implementation of the design procedures outlined by the authors for mass advanced training courses for teachers of mathematics and physics.

In this article, the reference to the phenomenon of the professional identity of future teachers is caused, firstly, by the need to update meanings that are subject to permanent changes in the social reality surrounding a person, and secondly, by the importance of this personal education for high results of professional and pedagogical activities. The problem of forming the professional identity of future teachers through service-learning has become the subject of a special pedagogical study for the first time. The purpose of the article is to present the results of the study on the possibilities of service-learning as means of forming the professional identity of future teachers at the stage of professional training. The study focuses on the analysis of the results of testing service learning as innovative means of professional training of future teachers at a pedagogical university, aimed at forming their professional identity. The classical pedagogical experiment included diagnostic, formative and control stages (N=216). Diagnostics was carried out using the identity stage scale by J. Cote, the identity styles questionnaire by M. Berzonsky, the general self-efficacy scale by R. Schwarzer & M. Jerusalem. The statistical qualification of the results was performed using the Pearson χ2 goodness-of-fit criterion. The case of the Volgograd State Social-Pedagogical University demonstrated that service learning is used as an effective means of forming the professional identity of future teachers: a) the emotional component of professional identity (involvement, interest, focus on solving socially significant problems); b) the communication component of the professional identity (enrichment of the experience of interpersonal communication and interaction with different gender, age and social groups); c) the activity – based component of the professional identity (development of technological skills and creativity). The results of the study can be applied to the development of the problem of the professional identity of future teachers, the study of the possibilities of service-learning as a pedagogical method; they contribute to the theory and practice of continuous pedagogical education.

The article examines one of the aspects of fuzzy emotivity — discursive emotivity. Fuzzy emotivity is an attempt to systematize those cases of communicative realization of emotivity that do not lend themselves to the three-part classification of emotives into affectives, connotatives and potentiatives. Discursivity is one of the obligatory characteristics of emotivity, since the evaluative sign and the semantic component of a word directly depends on the context, the communicative situation of actualization, horizontal and vertical "neighborhood" with other semiotic formations. Recently, the problems of urban or urban discourse have attracted the active attention of researchers, while the aspect of urban emotions or the emotions of the city has not become the subject of separate research. The choice of the research material (multimodal texts of advertising campaigns) made it possible to identify the key characteristics of the image of desired urban emotions, which contradicts the available sociolinguistic research on the emotional tonality of life in the city. The campaigns of suburban cottage settlements were also considered, in which the "secret" side of life in the city is objectified, problematic points of urban life are revealed. It is shown that urban emotions can be real and simulated when objective reality is replaced by emotive simulacra that affect the emotional sphere, i.e. have a manipulative effect on the recipient.
