Safety in aviation impacts the overall success of the sector. It depends on the effectiveness and efficiency of safety management systems (SMSs), which contain diverse and complex elements. Thus, a quantitative methodology for aviation SMS in developing countries, capable of prioritising resources with incomplete information, is needed. Grey relational analysis (GRA) is the most appropriate tool for this situation. This study assessed an existing SMS and determined its critical elements in a developing country’s aviation industry. Questionnaires were framed from the SMS manual of the International Civil Aviation Organization and from previous literature. The robustness and the efficiency of the approach were tested with data obtained from airline operators in Nigeria. Assessment of SMSs was done among airline service providers ascertaining the important levels of SMS elements. GRA was then applied to this data to identify the most influential elements of an SMS. Several companies were examined. Company A needs for a focus on sharing safety information and sensitization techniques to enable SMSs to better permeate through all levels, making employees aware of their SMS roles and duties to pursue a better safety culture. Company B needs to focus on more in-depth safety information dissemination platforms and methods. Non-punitive reporting should be done and safety promotion, culture, training and education should be prioritised. Company A has a better safety record than B. Overall, from the grey model, 12 critical elements were found out of 22 revised SMS elements that affect SMS. The major critical component was the safety structure and regulation. This is needed to build long lasting and effective SMSs. The novelty of this work is its unique application of GRA for a developing country’s airline safety.

Occupational health and safety in hospitals is influenced by Occupational Safety and Health Management System or what is often called SMK3 which functions to regulate occupational safety and health in an industry or building. This research aims to analyze the relationship between inhibiting factors and the implementation of the occupational health and safety management system at the Royal Prima Medan Hospital. This research is an analytical survey research using a cross sectional study design carried out in June 2023. The sample in this research is all medical personnel who work in Royal Prima Medan Hospital, namely 121 people. The sample size is determined using the total population formula. Data were analyzed using the chi square test and logistic regression. The research results show that there is a relationship between HR quality, HR workload, HR work environment, wage levels and the rate of addition of new workers with the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system at the Royal Prima Medan Hospital. The most dominant variable related to the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system at the Royal Prima Medan Hospital is the wage level. It is recommended to the hospital that the results of this research can be used as input to improve and develop the level of occupational health and safety, especially for hospital workers, which can also indirectly improve the quality of service and work productivity of the hospital

The Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) mandates that individual states develop six transportation infrastructure management systems. One of these systems, the safety management system (SMS), focuses on reducing the number of roadway traffic accidents, injuries, and fatalities by considering the safety needs of the driver, vehicle, and roadway. This necessitates cooperation among state, city, and county roadway agencies as well as diverse public and quasi-public agencies. States have made significant advances toward implementing SMSs. The safety community recognizes that it is time to coordinate safety activities and responsibilities. Even if it is not mandated by Congress, as recent actions indicate, a large number of states are expected to implement elements of their SMS work plan. With this implementation comes the need for the evaluation of SMS's effectiveness in increasing traffic safety and ultimately reducing the number and severity of accidents. The challenge in evaluating SMS effectiveness is that many of the activities undertaken will not be directly quantifiable by accident statistics. Discussed here are some of the impediments, concerns, and design issues in an evaluation of SMS effectiveness in increasing traffic safety. Knowledge of these impediments and determination of an appropriate experimental design will enable the prior planning required to perform valid effectiveness evaluations.

This study aimed to analyze the effect of the implementation of Safety Management System (SMS) and the use of information system on the Flight Safety in the Indonesian Air Navigation Services Organization both partially and simultaneously. The research uses quantitative methods, and the data are analyzed using linear regression, simple correlation both partially and simultaneously and path analysis. The result shows; implementation of Safety Management System (X1) as measured by the Flight Safety (Y) has a positive and significant contribution on the level of Flight Safety. The amount of the application contribution of Safety Management System that directly contributes to the Flight Safety is 35.4%, so the research hypothesis which states that the Safety Management System application directly impacts significantly on Aviation Safety is accepted; the use of Information Systems (X2) as measured by the Flight Safety (Y) has a positive and significant contribution on the level of Flight Safety. The use of information systems contributions that directly contributes to aviation safety is 38.4%, so the hypothesis which states that the use of information system directly affects significantly the flight safety is acceptable; the total effect of simultaneous application of Safety Management System (X1) and the use of Information Systems (X2) contribute significantly to the Flight Safety (Y) as much as 66.3%. The remaining 33.7% is the influence of the other factors such as refresher and development training for air navigation personnel, aviation navigation equipment renewal and observation flight

ObjectiveIn its aim to develop a model of an occupational safety and health management system (OSHMS) for MSMEs in Indonesia, this study seeks to explore crucial factors in relation to the implementation of such a system in MSMEs by conducting a review of previous studies on the topic. MethodsThis systematic review is an exploratory study from several online databases our using a combination of two keywords that refer to the population and exposure variables in the PROSPERO Approach by using the “AND” strategy. Each literature goes through selection based on PRISMA flow chart. A Critical Appraisal Skill Programme (CASP) checklist for risk of bias assessment was used for the evidence quality appraisal. ResultFrom 37 papers, books, online books and local articles were selected, we identified pivotal factors in the implementation of OHSMS in MSMEs which can be classified into downstream factors (OSH training, commitment, risk management, and communication), middle stream factors (support from the third party), and upstream factors (the role of government). ConclusionVarious pivotal factors in promoting OSH implementation at MSMEs can be seen as role of MSMEs actors (employer and employee); third party and government.

Safety Management Systems (SMS) in aviation have the potential to minimize costs, protect profits, and increase shareholder value. However, a gap exists in SMS research between the acknowledged safety benefits of SMS and the identified economic benefits. In the current competitive marketplace, SMS will need to demonstrate economic viability through modeling before industry leaders are likely to adopt a voluntary process. This paper reviews the literature related to a variety of possible economic models applicable to measuring the benefits of the application and implementation of SMS in aviation organizations. While the ultimate goal is to increase safety, the utilization of a model chosen based on the needs of the organization, could encourage voluntary adoption of SMS before regulations make it mandatory. The model will better inform the adopters of SMS of benefits and the processes themselves so that SMS does not degrade into a focus on following process steps rather than improving safety. Using good models that estimate the benefits of SMS would facilitate decision making as well as support the implementation of SMS.

This research paper examines the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in road network inventory and network-wide road safety assessment. An overview of current research related to this field is presented and various aspects of the use of AI in road infrastructure and safety assessment are analysed. In today’s world, where the road network continues to develop and grow, the use of AI can offer significant advantages in the inventory and assessment of road infrastructure and safety. AI can be used to process large volumes of data collected from various sources such as geographic data, photos, documentation and more. One of the main aspects that the article looks at is the use of AI to automatically process data and create a digital inventory of the road network. AI systems can analyse geographic data and photos to identify and classify roads, road signs, markings, and other elements of road infrastructure. This can facilitate engineers and competent authorities in the process of road inventory and maintenance. Another important aspect discussed in the paper is the use of AI for the general assessment of road safety. AI models can analyse road infrastructure inventory data, as well as traffic data, crashes, and other factors, to provide a comprehensive assessment of road network safety. This allows the competent authorities to identify vulnerable places, carry out preventive measures and plan appropriate interventions aimed at improving road safety. In conclusion, the paper highlights the possibilities and advantages of using artificial intelligence in road network inventory and network-wide road safety assessment. Such an approach can contribute to more efficient management of road infrastructure and improvement of road safety.

Occupational safety and health are the main means of preventing accidents, disability and death as a result of work accidents. K3 aims to prevent, reduce, and even eliminate the risk of work accidents (zero accident). The application of this concept should not be considered as an effort to prevent work accidents and occupational diseases that cost the company a lot of money, but should be considered as a form of long-term investment that will provide abundant benefits in the future. This study aims to determine the implementation of the implementation and the level of success, as well as to determine the factors causing the delay in the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system (SMK3) in the construction project of the Hotel Santika Premiere Padang.The stage of this research is the study of various existing literatures to determine the variables to be used. The next stage is designing research questionnaires and then collecting data by distributing questionnaires directly to the field. The data obtained from the questionnaire will be analyzed for validity and reliability tests using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software.The results of this study indicate that the success of the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system (SMK3), which is taken from the average sum of all variables, is 98.5%. So that it can be concluded that the level of achievement of the successful implementation of SMK3 in the construction project of the Hotel Santika Premiere Padang is based on the determination of the success value written in the Minister of Permenaker Number: 05/MEN/1996, eligible for a certificate and a gold flag. This is in accordance with category number 3, namely "where the level of achievement of 85-100% is given a certificate and a gold flag".

The article presents the results of the development of an integral indicator of road safety - the road safety coefficient. The value of the road safety coefficient shows how many times, at the same levels of motorization, the risk of death of a resident in road traffic (social risk) decreased/increased in comparison with the average social risk that existed in the world in the 40s of the last century, when there were no special programs on improving road safety. The use of the road safety coefficient allows you to compare the level of road safety in countries and regions with different populations and different levels of motorization. It is shown that social risk is a complex indicator, the value of which depends on the indicators of road safety at a lower level - the probability of participation of a resident in road traffic, which is equal to the value of motorization, the probability of death of a road user (transport risk), the probability of a road accident (active road safety), the intensity of road accidents (reliability of driving) and the average annual mileage of the car, the probability of death in a road accident (passive and post-accident safety). An equation is obtained that relates the value of social risk to the values of lower-level road safety indicators. The analysis of the level of road safety in Kyrgyzstan is carried out. It is shown how the condition of the traffic flow affects its average speed and the probability of road accidents. The influence of traffic flow density on its average speed and intensity of road accidents is considered. To assess the impact of the condition of a traffic flow on its average speed and road safety, the concept of the conventional density of a traffic flow is used. It is revealed that in the road conditions of Kyrgyzstan there is a critical conventional density, when exceeding it the transport risk, the probability of a road accident and the probability of death in a road accident begin to decrease rapidly with a further increase in the conventional density. The low efficiency of detection of exceeding a permitted speed when measuring the maximum speed of cars at certain points is shown. It is proposed to use the measurement of average speed on certain road sections as a means of reducing the number of drivers exceeding the speed limit.

Introduction. The current problem of road safety state (RTS), which appears mainly in the deterioration of the demographic situation in the Russian Federation (RF), results in the need for a significant strengthening of state activities in increasing the level of road safety. To assess the level of road safety, a system of indicators is used based on the analysis of the number of road accidents with traffic flow density, motorization level, the number of people, etc. taken into account. 80 per cent of road accidents occur in populated areas, the vast majority of them taking place in the subjects of Russian regions. At the same time, about 90 per cent of accidents occur due to violation of traffic rules by drivers, 10 per cent – by pedestrians. Today, among 89 regions of the Russian Federation, there is significant heterogeneity, determined by a number of indicators related to the territorial location, economic, social and climatic conditions that affect certain human actions (human factor) as related to a participant in street and road traffic.The purpose of the study is to determine indices for comparing cities in the road safety rating.Materials and methods. The methodological basis of the research is mathematical and statistical assessment methods.Results and discussion. The main result has been determination of parameters affecting the state of road safety. Eight indices have been grouped that characterize the level of road safety taking into account parameters of the human factor. A most important road safety parameter has been established, by considering the human factor in the “man – car – road – environment” system.Conclusion. A new methodology for assessing the level of road safety in urban environment is proposed. Identifying the subjects of the Russian Federation is most appropriate for making priority management decisions aimed at improving road safety, taking into account the human factor. The methodology will make it possible to assess the effectiveness of solving key tasks related to the prevention of road accidents, the implementation of federal targeted programs and strategies in the field of road safety in the regions of Russia.

ROAD SAFETY: A MAJOR PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUE

The determining or the implementation of occupational safety and health management system is an obligation for all companies as is already mandated in Government Regulation Number 50 in 2012. The implementation have an aim to reduce the risk level of work accident noraltough the occupational illness which may be happening in work environment. The aim of this research is to cover the implementation of occupational safety and health management system at PT. PLN (Persero) Rayon Rote Ndao. This research is using descriptive analysis method with total five informants which are consist of the manager of PT.PLN (Persero) Rayon Rote Ndao, supervisor K3, office employee, field employee and engineer. The research result shows that theoccupational safety and health management system’s commitment and the policy, the occupational safety and health management system’s planning, the occupational safety and health management system’s implementation, the occupational safety and health management system’s measurement and evaluation, and the occupational safety and health management system’s review and improvement in PT.PLN (Persero) Rayon Rote Ndao have already been well applyed.

Satisfação profissional dos enfermeiros em Cuidados de Saúde Primários: O caso do Centro de Saúde de Barcelos/ Barcelinhos

Aim: The essential purpose of the current research was to identify the challenges faced by project engineering managers in the UK construction industry while seeking to achieve sustainability.
 Study Design: The current study was built upon six important subjects in order to accomplish this goal. In the current study, the researcher opted to do both qualitative and quantitative analysis. The quantitative analysis comprised frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis and was based on data collected through questionnaires.
 Place and Duration of Study: This study was carried out in Bristol United Kingdom for an investigative period of six (6) Months including the research question distribution and collection time as well as the interview and interaction sections with the Construction Project Engineering Managers. 
 Methodology: In light of the nature of the current research, the researcher selected the mixed research design. Mixed research design is the method used in collecting and analyzing data by using both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
 Results: The results of the present study showed that effective health and safety management systems are necessary for sustainable construction. However, the UK construction industry lacks these systems. The study also identified lack of education and training as a hindrance. The proper understanding of the project and its processes can only be attained through training and education, and managers have to deal with the problem of being unable to successfully complete sustainable building owing to lack of such resources. However, with the right on-the-job training and efficient monthly meetings that include training and education sessions, this can be improved.
 Conclusion: The study resolved that policies should be put in place to guarantee that advancement in the building sector follows economic integration. It has been revealed from the findings that construction is heavily dependent on conventional methods in most rising economies, including the UK, which makes the adoption of novel techniques more challenging and stressful. An important barrier to attaining sustainable construction is clients' and other stakeholders' lack of support for innovative construction techniques. The findings further revealed that the implementation of eco-friendly building practices by the construction sector has the tendency to reduce an asset's overall environmental impact and promote sustainable economic growth.
