With the development of SOA (service-oriented architecture) and SOC (service-oriented computing), the quality of service (QoS) was more and more important than before. How to access, store and measure the QoS in complex network has been a key work for the SOA. An expanded service model supporting QoS is proposed in this paper, and the model supports service publishing, selection based on QoS. In the model, QoS information is collected from different roles like service provider, service user and service monitor, then saved as publish QoS, experience QoS and monitor QoS. QoS measure is based on weighted the different QoS information above. So it takes account of all kinds of aspects that affect the QoS driven service selection. Finally, it describes a real case study of applying this model in a project of IBM SUR program.

Quality of Service (QoS) characterizes the non-functional aspects of Web service, which is the key factor for satisfying service users and has to be carefully considered in service oriented architecture. There has been a lot of works on QoS description and service selection by QoS information. However, two issues have not been substantially explored in QoS management-how to collect QoS information from running services, and how to dynamically adapt service provisioning with run-time QoS information. Moreover, current monitoring approaches are focused on monitoring the service interaction in a single domain, while cross-domain monitoring has not been studied yet. In this paper, we present a policy-driven monitoring framework for collecting QoS information and adapting service provisioning for cross-domain service interaction. The monitor is built on our distributed QoS registry-Q-Peer. The monitor is user-centric, metric-oriented, feedback-enabled and loosely-coupled with service providers. Services are observed by capturing interaction messages, so the monitoring approach has no impact to service providers. The framework supports dynamic configuration of monitoring metrics for both single service and cross-domain composite service. It can be used as a reliable third-party QoS monitor for Web services.

Introduction: In the last decade, Six Sigma has emerged as a systematic and powerful approach to improving the quality of health care and controlling costs. The purpose of this article is to determine the effect of Six Sigma strategy management on improving the quality of information services in the Children's Medical Center Hospital. Research Method: The methodology of the present study, which is an applied study in terms of purpose, is a descriptive correlational survey. The statistical population of this study consists of all managers, supervisors and experts of the Children's Medical Center Hospital, whose number is 149 people. Cochran's formula has been used to determine the sample size, which according to the statistical population is 94 people. The method of selecting statistical samples is simple random sampling according to the subject and nature of the research. The required data were collected using a standard questionnaire and the data were analyzed using regression analysis through SPSS 23 software. Findings: Research findings showed that fact-based management can account for 26% of changes in the quality of information services, management of resource providers can account for 38% of changes in the quality of information services and management based on facts and information Predict 39% of changes in the quality of information services. Conclusion: Six Sigma is a systematic and statistical approach that aims to identify the shortcomings of process performance and reduce the error of those work and clinical processes that are performed with long time, high cost and poor outcome.

PurposeConsidering the important role of public libraries in providing health information service as well as user feedback in improving the quality of health information services, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of health information service in public libraries of Hamadan, Iran, on the basis of the modified LibQUAL modelDesign/methodology/approachThis practical research was conducted in an analytic-survey method. The statistical population consists of all members of public libraries of Hamadan over 18 years old (12,237 people), and the sample size is calculated to be 373 people. The stratified sampling method was used, and within each class, a convenience sampling method was used. The modified LibQUAL questionnaire was used to gather data. For checking normality of data distribution, the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test and for analyzing date, descriptive statistics and also Chi-square and Wilcoxon tests were applied using SPSS 25.FindingsThe users' minimum level of public libraries in all three dimensions is an average level. The users' desired level of “information control” is higher than other dimensions. The users' perceived level in dimensions of “human resources” and “information control” is high level, while users' perceived level in “educational service” is an “average” level. There is a superiority gap between desired and perceived level in all dimensions, but the adequacy gap was seen only in the dimension of “educational service.”Research limitations/implicationsIn this study, the quality of health information services provided in public libraries is evaluated by the LibQUAL model.Practical implicationsThe results of this research can help managers and librarians of public libraries in measuring the quality of health information services and improving the quality of services provided by libraries. Besides, they can take a more accurate planning and pathologic approach, to eliminate the gap between minimum and desired expectations of users and libraries’ real services.Originality/valueIn this study, the quality of health information services provided in public libraries is evaluated by LibQUAL tool.

This study focused on empirical analysis to examine the effect of prop-tech information service quality on acceptance intention and to verify the mediating effect of consumption value in this relationship. The study was conducted on adult men and women across the country with experience in using prop technology, and the survey included 549 effective samples, which were analyzed. As a result of the study, service quality and information quality among information service quality had a positive (+) effect on consumption value, and service quality had a relatively high influence. This means that the empirical satisfaction experienced by users in high-involvement and high-risk fields such as real estate is important, and the responsiveness and kindness of the platform operator are crucial to the formation of consumption value. In addition, consumption value had a significant positive (+) effect on acceptance intention, suggesting that the higher the various values perceived by users (functional benefits, psychological satisfaction, etc.), the stronger the intention to use the service. Information quality and service quality influenced acceptance intention by mediating consumption value, and system quality directly influenced acceptance intention. This study has academic significance in that it comprehensively verified the relationship between prop-tech information service quality, consumption value, and acceptance intention.

This study is to determine the effect of information system quality, price, promotion, and service quality to jointly and partially influence user satisfaction of online motorcycle taxi transportation services in the era of the Covid 19 virus in Yogyakarta. This research is a purposive sampling technique, targeting users of ojek transportation services. The online era of the Covid 19 virus in Yogyakarta, as many as 125 respondents. They are using multiple regression statistical test tools. The results of this study, the quality of information systems, prices, promotions, and services together have a significant effect on the satisfaction of users of online motorcycle taxi transportation services in the era of the Covid 19 virus in Yogyakarta. The quality of information systems, prices, promotions, and services partially have a significant effect on the satisfaction of users of online motorcycle taxi transportation services in the era of the Covid 19 virus in Yogyakarta.

Plant growth and development are driven by two forms of energy: radiant and thermal. This study was undertaken to determine the effect of the ratio of radiant energy to thermal energy on plant quality of Euphorbia pulcherrima `Freedom'. Plants were grown under 27 combinations of temperature (thermal energy), light (radiant energy), and spacing, i.e., factorial combinations of three levels of constant temperature (19, 23, or 27°C:), three levels of daily light integral (5, 10, or 20 mol·m–2·d–1), and three levels of plant spacing (15 × 15, 22 × 22, or 30 × 30 cm), from pinch to the onset of short-day flower induction. Plants were treated for 450 degree-days (base temperature = 5°C) in Expt. 1 or 5 weeks in Expt. 2. The results showed that increasing radiant energy or decreasing average daily temperature during accumulation of 450 degree-days increased plant dry weight. When radiant and thermal energy were calculated into the ratio, plant dry weight increased linearly as the ratio increased Plants exposed to low light: levels and high temperatures, i.e., those at a low ratio, developed thin, weak stems. Higher radiant-to-thermal energy ratios produced thicker stems.

This study aims to analyse the quality and effectiveness of e-filling application by Indonesia tax payer. The theory adopted IS Success DeLone and McLean using three variables to measure the effectiveness of e-filling include user satisfaction, information quality, system quality, and service quality. Data collected through surveys conducted to taxpayers who have used Tax e-filling. PLS SEM and path analysis was applied to test the influences of the quality antecedents to user satisfaction with IS. The finding reveal that path coefficients provided a measure of the importance of each quality antecedent. The result show that Information quality, system quality, and service quality are increasing taxpayer satisfaction. This result also give evidence that the information quality, quality of system and service quality used by the organization positively affects the level of satisfaction of taxpayers. This study gives suggestion for Directorate General of Taxes could be sought by improving and increasing the information quality, system quality, use, and user satisfaction on e-filing system. This research gives empirical value that information quality, system quality and service quality have significant and positive effects on tax payers’ satisfaction. Quality of service (QoS) is an important criterion for Web service selection. The work in this paper is based on QoS IC (QoS Information & Computation) framework in Taher, L. et al., (2005). QoS IC framework supports QoS-based service selection in service oriented architecture (SOA). In this paper, we extend the functionality of QoS manager component of QoS IC framework with QoS-constraints model. QoS-constraints establish association relationship between different QoS properties and are used to govern the QoS matchmaking process in the underlying QoS matchmaking algorithm. The matchmaking process maps QoS requirements of consumers with the published QoS information of providers. We enhance the matchmaking algorithm to accommodate QoS-constraints.

Public transparency Web sites for radiology practices: prevalence of price, clinical quality, and service quality information

A mobile ad hoc network is a collection of mobile nodes which communicate without a fixed backbone or centralized infrastructure. Due to the frequent mobility of nodes, routes connecting two distant nodes may change. Therefore, it is not possible to establish a priori fixed paths for message delivery through the network. Because of its importance, routing is the most studied problem in mobile ad hoc networks. In addition, if the Quality of Service (QoS) is demanded, one must guarantee the QoS not only over a single hop but over an entire wireless multi-hop path which may not be a trivial task. In turns, this requires the propagation of QoS information within the network. The key to the support of QoS reporting is QoS routing, which provides path QoS information at each source. To support QoS for real-time traffic one needs to know not only minimum delay on the path to the destination but also the bandwidth available on it. Therefore, throughput, end-to-end delay, and routing overhead are traditional performance metrics used to evaluate the performance of routing protocol. To obtain additional information about the link, most of quality-link metrics are based on calculation of the lost probabilities of links by broadcasting probe packets. In this paper, we address the problem of including multiple routing metrics in existing routing packets that are broadcasted through the network. We evaluate the efficiency of such approach with modified version of DSDV routing protocols in ns-3 simulator.

The present paper tests a long-overlooked aspect of the association between school management and student mental health. Specifically, the question asked is whether and to what extent quality of information services is associated with students’ feelings of loneliness. Research on this relationship is almost inexistent—most probably because of the rather narrow conceptual framework within which loneliness research has been carried out. The present study attempts to fill this gap by looking at loneliness from a different conceptual angle, that of alienation, and from there to test a couple of hypotheses: (i) the significance of the relationship between quality of information services and student loneliness and (ii) the protective role of quality of informal student networks. Data from 439 undergraduate students from a Moroccan institution of higher education were used for the purpose. Both hypotheses were confirmed. Quality of information services, which a sweeping majority of students (64.2%) rated as unsatisfactory, was negatively associated with feelings of loneliness (β = -.17**, p < .01). To test the protective role of quality of student networks, a moderation analysis was conducted. Quality of student networks proved a significant moderator. Results and implication for educational management and future research directions are discussed.

With the advent of the mobile network, the fusion of cloud computing and fog computing is becoming feasible to promise lower latency and short‐fat connection. However, there are a lot of redundant cloud‐aware services with identical functionalities but a different quality of service (QoS) in the fog cloud environment. In fact, since QoS information is stored in distributed fog servers rather than remote cloud, it is hard for individuals to make recommendation and selection with sparse QoS information. Collaborative filtering is an important method for the sparsity problems and has been widely adopted on the prediction of missing QoS values. Focusing on the fact that existing researchers often ignore the QoS fluctuation in a wide range in the fog cloud environment, a novel neighbor‐based QoS prediction method is proposed for service recommendation, in which a concept and calculation method is put forward to describe the stable status of services and users with quantifiable QoS values, and a NearestGraph algorithm is further designed to recognize stable or unstable candidate along with their popularity by a nearest neighbor graph structure which can help to make missing QoS values prediction in a certain order to improve final prediction accuracy. Experimental results confirm that the proposed method is effective in predicting unknown QoS values in terms of service recommendation accuracy and efficiency.

Aim/Purpose: This study aims to investigate the influence of e-government public services on public trust at the local government level, addressing the pressing need to understand the factors shaping citizen perceptions and trust in government institutions. Background: With the proliferation of e-government initiatives worldwide, governments are increasingly turning to digital solutions to enhance public service delivery and promote transparency. However, despite the potential benefits, there remains a gap in understanding how these initiatives impact public trust in government institutions, particularly at the local level. This study seeks to address this gap by examining the relationship between e-government service quality, individual perceptions, and public trust, providing valuable insights into the complexities of citizen-government interactions in the digital age. Methodology: Employing a quantitative approach, this study utilises surveys distributed to users of e-government services in one of the regencies in Indonesia. The sample consists of 278 individuals. Data analysis is conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling, allowing for the exploration of relationships among variables and their influence on public trust. Contribution: This study provides insights into the factors influencing public trust in e-government services at the local government level, offering a nuanced understanding of the relationship between service quality, individual perceptions, and public trust. Findings: This study emphasises information quality and service quality in e-government-based public services as crucial determinants of individual perception in rural areas. Interestingly, system quality in e-government services has no influence on individual perception. In the individual perception, perceived security and privacy emerge as the strongest antecedent of public trust, highlighting the need to guarantee secure and private services for citizens in rural areas. These findings emphasise the importance of prioritising high-quality information, excellent service delivery, and robust security measures to foster and sustain public trust in e-government services. Recommendations for Practitioners: Practitioners must prioritise enhancing the quality of e-government services due to their significant impact on individual perception, leading to higher public trust. Government agencies must ensure reliability, responsiveness, and the effective fulfilment of user needs. Additionally, upholding high standards of information quality in e-government services by delivering accurate, relevant, and timely information remains crucial. Strengthening security measures through robust protocols such as data encryption and secure authentication becomes essential for protecting user data. With that in mind, the authors believe that public trust in government would escalate. Recommendation for Researchers: Researchers could investigate the relation between system quality in e-government services and individual perception in different rural settings. Longitudinal studies could also elucidate how evolving service quality, information quality, and security measures impact user satisfaction and trust over time. Comparative studies across regions or countries can reveal cultural and contextual differences in individual perceptions, identifying both universal principles and region-specific strategies for e-government platforms. Analysing user behaviour and preferences across various demographic groups can inform targeted interventions. Furthermore, examining the potential of emerging technologies such as blockchain or artificial intelligence in enhancing e-government service delivery, security, and user engagement remains an interesting topic. Impact on Society: This study’s findings have significant implications for fostering public trust in government institutions, ultimately strengthening democracy and citizen-government relations. By understanding how e-government initiatives influence public trust, policymakers can make informed decisions to improve service delivery, enhance citizen engagement, and promote transparency, thus contributing to more resilient and accountable governance structures. Future Research: Future research could opt for longitudinal studies to evaluate the long-term effects of enhancements in service quality, information quality, and security. Cross-cultural investigations can uncover universal principles and contextual differences in user experiences, supporting global e-government strategies in rural areas. Future research could also improve the research model by adding more variables, such as risk aversion or fear of job loss, to gauge individual perceptions.
