ОСОБЛИВОСТІ РОЗВИТКУ АГРОТУРИСТИЧНОГО ПРОДУКТУ ЖИТОМИРСЬКОГО РЕГІОНУ (НА ПРИКЛАДІ АГРОСАДИБИ «ПОЛІСЬКА ХАТА»)

It has become evident that rural tourism grew significantly during the pandemic compared to mass tourism. However, at this time, all the forecasts were wrapped in considerable uncertainty regarding travel, which is not without the elevated associated risk. Therefore, we assessed the perceptions of the entrepreneurs in relation to rural tourism activities regarding the advantages of their rural tourism activity in the Azores for customers. Furthermore, the potential for developing this typology of tourism is pivotal for obtaining very reliable data and information on this topic and enabling us to provide guidelines for the leading regional players. In this regard, an exploratory method was used to assess the perceptions of the entrepreneurs with rural tourism activities in the Azores Islands regarding the customers’ experiences and some other important aspects concerning the promotion of this type of tourism in the region. Throughout this study, it was possible to verify that the most relevant obstacles to the development of rural tourism in the Azores region are the preservation and conservation of nature and endogenous resources and delivering proper infrastructures and regional accessibilities. Contrarily, the increase in community and regional funding and support for rural tourism could be key to the prosperity of this typology of tourism in this insular territory.

The article studies the regulatory and legal framework of rural tourism in the Kostroma region. It analyzes the resource potential of the development of agricultural tourism in the region under consideration, and substantiates the relevance of the development of rural (agricultural) tourism. The authors analyze the natural, cultural, historical and infrastructural potential of tourism development in the Kostroma region, and consider the main negative factors affecting the development of rural (agricultural) tourism. Based on the analysis of the tourist potential, the authors identified the regions with the highest and the lowest potential for the development of agritourism and proposed directions for the development of the most promising types of tourism in the Kostroma region, taking into account the characteristics of the region.

The aim of the study. To investigate the current state and prospects of the festival tourism development in the Khmelnytskyi region. The development of tourism, particularly festival tourism, is important for the economy of the country and territorial communities, as it ensures the growth of tourist flows and the development of infrastructure. Method. The research uses general scientific research methods, namely, general logical methods: comparison, analysis, synthesis, generalization and analogy. The methods of analysis, synthesis and generalization were used in the study of the cause-and-effect relationship growth of the tourist activity in the region due to the use and preservation of tourist objects, cultural and historical local communities' traditions. Using the method of analogy, the probable positive results of the development of festival tourism in the Khmelnytskyi region were evaluated. Results. Examples of the development of festival tourism in Khmelnytskyi region are demonstrated. The prospects for the development of festival tourism in the Khmelnytskyi region have been determined. The scientific novelty. The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the fact that the potential of using festivals in the field of tourism of the Khmelnytskyi region has been determined. The directions for the development of festival tourism in Khmelnytskyi region are described in order to activate domestic tourism and improve the image of the region at the international level. Practical significance. The article provides examples of the festival tourism development in Khmelnytskyi region. The strengths and weaknesses of festival tourism in the region are analyzed. The development of this type of tourism has many positive aspects: popularization of the native region, development of local infrastructure, receipt of funds to the budget, creation of new jobs, attraction of new tourists to other tourist locations. The article argues that the festival tourism development potential of Khmelnytskyi region is very rich and needs development. The obtained scientific results are used in the educational process of future specialists in the direction of training «Tourism», with the educational qualification «Tourism expert, organizer of excursion and animation activities» when teaching the disciplines «Organization of tourist trips», «Professional competences in tourism business», «Organization of tourist activities». The aim of the study is to analyze trends, problems and prospects for the development of ethno-festival tourism in the western region of Ukraine in the current crisis realities. Methods. The study used the method of statistical analysis, the methods of analysis and synthesis, comparative method, synthesis method. Results. The geographical and socio-economic prospects for the development of ethno-festivals and destinations of ethno-festival tourism in the western region of Ukraine are described, the problems and peculiarities of the organization of ethno-festival tourism in the region are revealed. Scientific novelty. Priorities for the development of ethnic festivals in the region have been identified in order to attract additional tourist flows and promote the development of ethnic culture. Practical significance. Concrete recommendations on the future development of ethno-festival tourism in the region are proposed.

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of tourism in rural regions with emphasis on behavioral geography of the rural residential and to present strategies in order to improve these regions. In this study, procedure documents and field methods have been employed. After studying relevant resources, questionnaires have been used in order to obtain the rural residential attitudes about the ways of developing the industry of tourism in the region. After the analysis of the questionnaires’ data, strategies have been concluded to develop the industry of tourism. Therefore, the rural tourism has an effective role in developing the rural regions and the behavior of the rural residential has an effective role to attract tourists. However, various natural capacities play an effective role in attracting tourists.

The article highlights tourist activity, including economic activity, using the example of the cultural and artistic center "Polis`ka Khata" during 2019–2022, which includes the COVID-19 pandemic and a fullscale war with Russia. An assessment of the consequences caused by these phenomena has been carried out. Attendance and economic activity of the agricultural estate during 2016–2022 have been compared also. It has been determined that a wide range of tourist services is providing on the basis of the estate, this activity significantly expands the consumer`s audience and its tourist attraction. After analyzing the economic activity for four years, it has been established that tourist activity has a seasonal difference and also depends on the thematic events that take place on the territory of the agricultural estate. As a result of the analysis of economic activity for the period 2016–2022, a gradual increase in income has been established until the end of 2019 inclusive (before quarantine restrictions). Thus, the trend indicates a gradual increase in the demand for the tourist product in rural tourism and the active work of the manor`s owners to promote their tourist product on the tourist market. In order to systematize the problems and advantages of the development of rural tourism in the territory of Zhytomyr region, a SWOT analysis using the generalization of factual information has been made, the status of this type of activity has been carried out. It has been established that at the current stage, regardless of the political and economic situation in the country, rural tourism has turned into a self-sufficient business that is economically profitable, competitive and elastic. Nowadays, the demand for tourist services and the needs of consumers have changed the concept of the approach to creating a comprehensive tourist product in rural tourism. Despite the challenges of modernity (quarantine restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fierce competition) and the state of war in the country, rural tourism is a promising and effective direction of diversification of the economy of the United Territorial Communities (UTC).

The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China made important arrangements for accelerating the construction of digital China and implementing the national cultural digitalization strategy, clearly proposing to "accelerate the development of the digital economy and promote the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy"[7] Rural tourism is the key to promoting the breakthrough and development of the private economy and the county economy, as well as the key to promoting the adjustment, transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure. In addition, the improvement of the governance of villages near the Yellow River Basin has carried out a lot of theoretical research on the rural revitalization of the Yellow River Basin from different perspectives such as industrial prosperity, cultural inheritance, ecological restoration, and rural governance, which has laid a good theoretical support for the research and implementation of this project. However, compared with the eastern region, there are still a series of problems in the development process of rural cultural tourism in the western region, and some problems have not yet been solved. The Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee proposed that the development of the rural economy should be promoted through the development of industry so that the peasants can live a better life. Therefore, under the requirements of the governance of the Yellow River Basin and the strategy of rural revitalization, it is of great significance to study and discuss the main problems existing in the integrated development of the cultural and tourism industry in the Hubei District of Xi'an City, and put forward targeted opinions and suggestions, which is of great significance to promote the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industry.

Trends in modern tourism are mainly oriented towards intangible aspects of tourism demand. Consumer experience at a destination is the focal point. Since rural areas in Croatia face significant demographic problems, rural tourism can be one of the answers to the question of how to revitalize rural areas. The aim of this paper is to describe the development of rural tourism in certain regions in the context of overall rural development in Croatia. For the purposes of this paper, methods of content analysis and compilation were used. Rural tourism can contribute to economic diversification and enable new jobs, especially for young people. Due to diversity of climatic, environmental and regional conditions, there are various types of rural tourism in Croatia. The overall diversity shouldn’t be perceived as on obstacle for potential development, but a comparative advantage.

The tourism industry that has developed in several constituent entities of the Russian Federation in the last three years contributed to the growing interest in its architecture. The article identifies the driving force behind change in the structure of the industry in the “new” tourism regions. The methodological basis of the study combines institutional theory (principally, the theory of transaction costs underlying the counterparties coordination mechanisms) and the concept of tourism product. The research methods of comparative analysis and in-depth interviewing were applied. The empirical data were retrieved from 29 interviews with representatives of the tourism business conducted between October, 2021 and November, 2022 in three constituent entities of the RF. The study demonstrates that the hybrid coordination mechanisms are most common in the “new” tourism regions. For instance, in Dagestan, the tourism product is created within vertical networks that unite partners at different stages of the value chain, while the selection of counterparties and the exchange of resources for this product to be produced take place within horizontal networks that enhance the efficiency of the industry. At the same time, as the tourist flow intensifies, there emerge some trends towards hierarchization (dealing with contractors as part of the firm) and a decrease in the role of horizontal networks in the functioning of the industry. Based on the results obtained, we can conclude that the process of hierarchization will be continued, while the potential associated with entrepreneurial networks is not used actively enough by both the business itself and the state.

The main goal of this elaboration is presentation of hitherto development and prospective potentials of agrotouristics and rural tourism in seaside regions against a nationalbackground. Agrotouristics and rural tourism were treated a bit more extensively.

This study examines the sustainable development of Li ethnic rural tourism resources in Hainan through a structuralist lens. Utilizing a structuralist framework, it analyzes the tourism system across macro-, meso-, and micro level factors. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines, drawing on secondary data from Scopus and ScienceDirect. The selection process involved predefined inclusion criteria, coding, and quality assessment, resulting in 21 relevant articles. Descriptive analysis of these sources identified key themes such as industrial integration, community participation, and policy-driven strategies as central to promoting sustainable tourism. The findings underscore the need for a holistic development model that integrates cultural preservation, economic empowerment, environmental protection, and inclusive governance. By applying a structuralist perspective, the study highlights the underlying cultural and social structures shaping rural tourism in ethnic regions. This research contributes to the broader discourse on ethnic and rural tourism by offering a theoretical foundation for future studies and practical guidance for policymakers, researchers, and tourism stakeholders. Ultimately, it advocates for tourism development models that are not only sustainable but also culturally respectful and community-driven, ensuring long-term benefits for both local populations and the environment.

National key rural tourism villages (NKRTVs) can lead to the high-quality development of rural tourism, and their spatial distribution is influenced by a variety of factors. However, existing studies have neglected the fact that influencing factors can have different directions and effects in different geographic spaces. This study investigates 156 NKRTVs in the Yangtze River Delta region of China as the research object and employs ArcGIS spatial analysis technology to examine their spatial distribution characteristics. Additionally, two new indicators of land and culture are introduced to enhance the index system of influencing factors. A geographically weighted regression model is utilized to identify the spatial heterogeneity of various factors that affect the spatial distribution of NKRTVs. The results of this study indicate the following: (1) The spatial distribution of NKRTVs in the Yangtze River Delta region is characterized by "small clustering and large dispersion." The spatial distribution exhibits strong spatial correlation, with Shanghai serving as the primary spatial clustering core and Huangshan city forming a secondary spatial clustering subcore. The distribution of NKRTVs is relatively scattered in other areas, with obvious differences in the spatial distribution of cold and hot spots. (2) The results of the geographically weighted regression model show that with the change in spatial location, the influence effect of each influencing factor on the spatial distribution of NKRTVs has obvious spatial differences. Based on the spatial heterogeneity of the influencing factors, this study proposes targeted suggestions for the development of rural tourism in different regions.

The chapter emphasizes the tourism products that the destination offers, highlighting rural tourism as a macro niche that is worthy to be considered as a unique form of tourism, and suggests a series of strategies for the diversification and enhancement of the tourism offering for the holistic Greek destination experience. In this regard, this study was employed for: (i) discovering the role of rural tourism for the mountainous area of Kalavrita, highlighting the challenges and opportunities of the current tourism situation in the area; (ii) analysing the strategies formulated by tourism authorities to engage in rural tourism; and (iii) conceptualizing the current and potential rural tourism products that do, and could, lead to the appropriate diversification of the existing tourism product of the Kalavrita region, as a representative western European mountainous destination.

Important issues in the development of regional tourism are the provision of tourist services, formation of the market of services and infrastructure improvement. The creation of clusters in the tourism sector remains relevant. From the standpoint of geographical science, the formation of tourist clusters is quite studied. The tourist potential of Khmelnytskyi region first of all includes the objects of nature reserve and historical-cultural funds available in the regional territory, which have not been involved in tourist activity yet. They are the basis for the formation of new tourist attractions, which can be used for the development of rural tourism, job creation, finding sources of income for newly formed territorial communities in order to obtain a positive effect from their formation. It is established that the synergetic effect promotes the creation of clusters with similar specialization. Determining the prospects of the tourist cluster of Khmelnytskyi region, special attention should be paid to such a form of tourism as rural (green) tourism. Extensive implementation of green tourism in the practice of newly formed united territorial communities in the region will provide additional resources to enhance their socio-economic development. Especially relevant tourist and recreational activities are in the buffer zones of national nature parks and landscape Regional Park, which are located in the Khmelnytskyi region. It is described that the material and technical base of tourism consists of: temporary accommodation facilities; specialized transport companies; tourist and excursion institutions and their subdivisions; information and advertising services; enterprises for the production and sale of tourist goods. Social infrastructure is also important for the organization of high-quality recreation for tourists: the availability of housing and communal services, cultural and household services, health care, and trade. From the standpoint of traditional economic and geographical complex formation, all factors of tourist complexes are divided into two major groups: socio-economic (labor, transport, trade and catering, souvenirs, city tourist development) and natural (geographical location, nature surface area, air temperature) etc. Many scholars, as the main social factors in the development of the tourist complex distinguish: socio-cultural: cultural-historical (architectural-historical) resources, settlement, administrative-territorial division; production and economic: labor resources, the structure of the city's economy, sources of environmental pollution, transport, land resources. Analysis of the location of these factors from the standpoint of social geography will justify measures aimed at enhancing the development of tourism in the regional tourism complex. Mass tourism is possible only if the needs of travelers in food and accommodation are met. Relevant facilities should have a range of hygiene and waste disposal facilities for tourists. Therefore, it is important, especially in rural areas, to provide in the plans of socio-economic development and general schemes of rural development places for temporary stay of tourists, appropriate infrastructure facilities, to reserve land for their arrangement. The analysis of the possibilities of Khmelnytskyi region in the tourist market of Ukraine showed that it occupies the middle places. This is due to the transit transport and geographical location. Within this region there is a clear polarization of tourism development, which determines the spatial features of the regional tourist complex development. In recent years, many rural areas have turned to tourism as a way of reviving their communities. One challenge to such efforts is that community leaders in these areas often have limited experience with tourism and consequently lack the knowledge and resources to best facilitate sustainable tourism initiatives. Moreover, an influx of tourists to an area puts new demands on infrastructure. Information about tourists' itineraries can help communities to address new challenges that result from tourism, however using emerging technologies such as GPS and Internet-based map surveys can be expensive and require expertise many rural tourism planners do not have. Paper-based itinerary mapping methodology can be a cost effective way of providing local officials, tourism planners, and businesses with important information to inform decisions about how to invest limited resources. This study applies paper-based itinerary mapping to an emerging wine tourism area in a rural county in the US state of Michigan. Because it involves tourists travelling from place to place within a region, wine tourism is particularly well-suited for itinerary mapping. Results provide specific recommendations to local officials, tourism planners, and businesses. Moreover, the study offers an example to researchers interested in conducting studies that use paper-based itinerary mapping methodology.
