In recent decades, technological progress has contributed to a consistent change in approaches to organizing the provision of medical care in various regions of the world. Electronic data-gathering systems make it possible to create extensive information databases about the health status of the population of certain territories or entire states. The introduction of technological solutions based on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies makes it possible to provide a systematic analysis of large volumes of information, as well as to develop new treatment methods of life-threatening diseases. The use of AI technologies not only has significant potential for improving the organization of medical care, but also brings essential risks of human rights restriction, it may also form discriminatory practices or even cause harm to health. The authors demonstrate the importance of AI technologies in improving separate stages of medical care and the circulation of healthcare technologies, and also present various approaches to defining the notion of “artificial intelligence”, that is a crucial element in specifying the object of legal regulation. The article systematizes the list of threats and challenges to human security associated with the use of AI technologies. The development of legal regulation of this sphere at the national (United States of America) and supranational (European Union) levels is analyzed, and also the main directions of development of this field in the Russian Federation are presented.

Digital transformation has emerged as a central driver of change in modern business. It leverages emerging technologies like big data, artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and blockchain to fundamentally alter business models, especially in the realm of electronic commerce. These technologies enable businesses to enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and provide more personalized services to consumers, creating new avenues for competitive advantage. Platforms that connect suppliers with consumers, data analytics, and automation are reshaping traditional business practices, making it necessary for companies to adapt to the evolving digital landscape. In this context, digital business models have introduced new challenges and opportunities. Traditional business models, often based on resource ownership and control of production processes, are being replaced by platform-based models. These models connect users, products, and services without the need for businesses to own physical assets. The advent of digital platforms has facilitated rapid access to markets, lowered barriers for entry, and led to the development of new business strategies. Platform-based business models are particularly effective in electronic commerce, where they offer direct interaction between suppliers and consumers, streamlining transactions and minimizing logistical challenges. Additionally, platforms utilize network effects, where the value of the service increases with the number of users, further accelerating growth. The rise of platforms such as Amazon, Uber, and Airbnb exemplifies how businesses can succeed without extensive infrastructure investments. However, the transition to digital business models also brings challenges. Companies must navigate the complexities of data security, ethics, and privacy concerns, as the digital economy generates vast amounts of data. Furthermore, businesses must adapt organizationally to new digital tools, requiring significant investments in technology, training, and restructuring. Digital transformation is reshaping the market structure by promoting the emergence of new business models that emphasize collaboration, flexibility, and data-driven decision-making. With the continued advancement of technologies like AI, blockchain, and automation, businesses must remain agile, focusing on adopting these tools to enhance their competitiveness and ensure long-term sustainability in the digital economy. The future of business in the digital age will depend on how well companies can leverage these innovations to meet evolving consumer needs and adapt to a rapidly changing market environment.

Purpose This paper aims to fill important research gaps by understanding how companies implement digital transformation (DT), what technologies are being applied, what practices are being used in the DT process and how they can add value to companies. Design/methodology/approach The research method utilized is a multiple-case study conducted with companies from the retail segment. This approach allows for an in-depth analysis of these companies’ strategies, technologies and practices in their DT processes. Findings The results indicate that the strategies and practices applied by the companies highlight the evolving nature of organizational functions. The standard digital technologies used by the three companies are digital platforms, mobile devices and communication tools. Only companies A and C stand out for using big data analytics, the Internet of things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI). Interviews revealed that companies are following the DT offensive but are also working internally to accelerate the DT journey, startup acquisition, new positions, innovation lab creation and agile concepts. Originality/value By addressing the research questions, we can systematically identify and categorize key strategies, practices, challenges and outcomes associated with DT in the retail sector. This can lead to developing a comprehensive framework that guides retail companies in implementing effective DT initiatives.

Aim. The work aimed to study the consequences of implementing products using artificial intelligence technologies in economic security systems.Objectives. The work seeks to analyze the development directions and results of artificial intelligence technologies; to assess the capabilities (beneficial effects) of these technologies in economic security systems of organizations; to identify specific threats to economic security, associated with the use of artificial intelligence technologies in organizations; to develop recommendations for mitigating these threats.Methods. The study employed comparative and retrospective analysis, economic-statistical and index methods, as well as special methods for studying economic security, expert-analytical and system approaches.Results. It has been established that the use of artificial intelligence in economic security systems can produce a significant beneficial effect. The advantages of its use in the field under consideration are associated with the fact that in formal analysis (from the standpoint of its rate, accuracy, consistency and taking into account the maximum possible number of factors), the artificial intelligence products surpass human capabilities. This results in a gradual replacement (moreover in the future) of human intelligence with artificial intelligence in the field under consideration, at least in cases of tasks that do not require non-standard, creative solutions, based sometimes on the paradoxical nature of human thinking. At the same time, such a development of events gives rise to a number of specific threats to economic security, namely “engagement” of many products using AI technologies; the possibility of manipulating information; loss of critical thinking skills by officials; the growing importance of cyberattacks.Conclusions. The development of digital technologies, including artificial intelligence technologies, has an ambiguous impact on economic security at all levels of the economic system. Overcoming the problems identified in the study requires activities in a number of fields, namely the formation of national products using artificial intelligence technologies, within the implementation of state policy to achieve technological sovereignty; strengthening the information component of systemic measures to ensure economic security; revision of approaches to the formation of competencies of specialists in the field of economic security, who use (or can potentially use) artificial intelligence products in their activities.
