In this paper, we investigate the boundedness of composition operators defined on a quasi-Banach space continuously included in the space of smooth functions on a manifold. We prove that the boundedness of a composition operator strongly limits the behavior of the original map, and it provides an effective method to investigate the properties of composition operators using the theory of dynamical system. Consequently, we prove that only affine maps can induce bounded composition operators on any quasi-Banach space continuously included in the space of entire functions of one variable if the function space contains a nonconstant function. We also prove that any polynomial automorphisms except affine transforms cannot induce bounded composition operators on a quasi-Banach space composed of entire functions in the two-dimensional complex affine space under several mild conditions.

In this paper we propose a general coorbit space theory suitable to define coorbits of quasi-Banach spaces using an abstract continuous frame, indexed by a locally compact Hausdorff space, and an associated generalized voice transform. The proposed theory realizes a further step in the development of a universal abstract theory towards various function spaces and their atomic decompositions which has been initiated by Feichtinger and Grochenig in the late 1980s. We combine the recent approaches in Rauhut and Ullrich (J Funct Anal 260(11):3299–3362, 2011) and Rauhut (Stud Math 180(3):237–253, 2007) to identify, in particular, various inhomogeneous (quasi-Banach) spaces of Besov–Lizorkin–Triebel type. To prove the potential of our new theory we apply it to spaces with variable smoothness and integrability which have attracted significant interest in the last 10 years. From the abstract discretization machinery we obtain atomic decompositions as well as wavelet frame isomorphisms for these spaces.

We study topological transitivity/hypercyclicity and topological (weak) mixing for weighted composition operators on locally convex spaces of scalar-valued functions which are defined by local properties. As main application of our general approach we characterize these dynamical properties for weighted composition operators on spaces of ultradifferentiable functions, both of Beurling and Roumieu type, and on spaces of zero solutions of elliptic partial differential equations. Special attention is given to eigenspaces of the Laplace operator and the Cauchy-Riemann operator, respectively. Moreover, we show that our abstract approach unifies existing results which characterize hypercyclicity, resp. topological mixing, of (weighted) composition operators on the space of holomorphic functions on a simply connected domain in the complex plane, on the space of smooth functions on an open subset of $\mathbb{R}^d$, as well as results characterizing topological transitiviy of such operators on the space of real analytic functions on an open subset of $\mathbb{R}^d$.

Let X be a non-empty set and let H(X) denote a Hibert space of complex-valued functions on X. Let T be a mapping from X to X and θ a mapping from X to C such that for all f in H(X), f ° T is in H(x) and the mappings CT taking f to f ° T and M taking f to θ.f are bounded linear operators on H(X). Then the operator CTMθ is called a weighted composition operator on H(X). This note is a report on the characterization of weighted composition operators on functional Hilbert spaces and the computation of the adjoint of such operators on L2 of an atomic measure space. Also the Fredholm criteria are discussed for such classes of operators.

Power bounded weighted composition operators on function spaces defined by local properties

There are two aims in this paper. The first aim is to characterize the order-bounded weighted composition operators between Fock spaces, and the second is to further characterize the order-bounded difference in weighted composition operators between Fock spaces. At the same time, six examples are given to illustrate the relations between boundedness and ordered boundedness. Moreover, an interesting result is found that differences in weighted composition operators defined by some special weighted functions and symbol functions are order-bounded between Fock spaces if and only if each weighted composition operator is compact between Fock spaces. Finally, two open questions are also put forward for converting larger Fock spaces into smaller ones.

A Linear Method for the Design of Optimal Nonlinear Filters for Non-Gaussian Processes

We solve the closed range problem for weighted composition operators on Fock spaces. The result equivalently characterizes when the operators are bounded from below. We give several applications of the main result related to the operators invertibility, Fredholm, and dynamical sampling structures from frame perspectives. We prove there exists no vector in the Fock space for which its orbit under the weighted composition operator represents a frame family. Furthermore, it is shown that a weighted composition operator preserves frames if and only if it preserves the stronger Riesz basis property. Similar results are provided for the adjoint operator.

The topological structure of the set of (weighted) composition operators has been studied on various function spaces on the unit disc such as Hardy spaces, the space of bounded holomorphic functions, weighted Banach spaces of holomorphic functions with sup-norm, Hilbert Bergman spaces. In this paper we consider this problem for all Bergman spaces $$A_{\alpha }^p$$ with $$p \in (0, \infty )$$ and $$ \alpha \in (-1, \infty )$$ . In this setting we establish a criterion for two composition operators to be linearly connected in the space of composition operators; furthermore, for the space of weighted composition operators, we prove that the set of compact weighted composition operators is path connected, but it is not a component.

We characterize the relatively compact subsets of the order continuous part $$E_a$$ of a quasi-Banach function space E showing that the strong connection between compactness, uniform absolute continuity, uniform integrability, almost order boundedness and L-weak compactness that appears in the classical setting of Lebesgue spaces remains almost invariant in this new context under mild assumptions. We also present a de la Vallee–Poussin type theorem in this context that allows us to locate each compact subset of $$E_a$$ as a compact subset of a smaller quasi-Banach Orlicz space $$E^\varPhi .$$ Our results generalize the previous known results for the Banach function spaces $$L^1(m)$$ and $$L^1_w(m)$$ associated to a vector measure m and moreover they can also be applied to the quasi-Banach function space $$L^1\left( \Vert m \Vert \right) $$ associated to the semivariation of m.

We describe the spectrum of certain integration operators acting on generalized Fock spaces.

We investigate the connection between compactness of radial operators on the generalized Fock spaces and the behavior at infinity of the corresponding Berezin transform and give a condition under which compactness of an operator is equivalent to the vanishing of the Berezin transform at infinity. Our result is based on a certain o-Tauberian theorem. We also show that the eigenvalues of radial operators depend only on the length of the multi-index.

A characterization of compact (and $M$-weakly compact) weighted composition operators on real and complex Banach lattices which can be appropriately realized as function spaces is provided.
